Can you give me a link to this thread?
It's the one titled "2017 -List of officers , concierge, hotel director etc." It's usually near the top of the NCL threads, because it is so frequently updated.

Two people have posted on our roll call thread for the 1/29 Breakaway cruise that Prem is no longer on the Breakaway, and one of them says he is no longer with NCL! We had been told by several crew members when we were on the Breakaway last October that Prem would be back on 1/29, and that was confirmed in an email from Prem himself shortly after we returned home in early November. I sent an email last night to Prem's NCL dot com email address and have gotten no reply, at least not yet. (Nor did I get an email back saying the email address no longer exists.)
Does anyone know anything about this? Is it true? What happened? Who will be the HD on the 1/29 cruise?
-
Thank you. Wasn't sure if he would be back from vacation. Glad to know he will be..
Anyone know about the butlers? HD? CD?
Thanx again,
Norma
Prem is scheduled to be back from vacation as of 1/29 as HD. Also Dan Dan is scheduled back from vacation as CD by then as well.

If you get to speak to Alvin this cruise, tell him Victor and Nancy say hello. He had been our ACD for several Breakaway cruises and we got to know him well. He told us Dan Dan will be back when we board on 1/29. Hope you have a great cruise.
-
We liked Alvin Oliva very much when he was ACD for several of our BA cruises. He had been promoted to CD on the Gem. And I believe he is filling in for Dan Dan now while he is on vacation.

She is docked port side alongside this week. I have been keeping track all year, and if I remember correctly it is now 12 port 9 starboard. We were on the 8/14 voyage and it was port side alongside. Hoping for the same when we are back on for the last Bermuda cruise of the year on 10/23.

Hi
ii. When the ship berths at Kings Wharf does it normally face the same way? I'm trying to work out if we wanted a sea view whilst in Bermuda should I book a starboard or port sided room. If the berth varies then I'll just take pot luck!
The Breakaway docks at Heritage Wharf, and just for fun, this year I have been keeping track of which way she docks. So far, she has called 18 times and docked port side alongside 10 of those times, including our visit the week of August 14. We will be back onboard for the last Bermuda run on October 23, and am hoping for port side again, since we will be in the aft Haven suite in the port corner. Gives great view of the whole Dockyard area, including any pier runners.

We did the 14-day Southern Caribbean last January 31 (and we are doing it again next January 29) and, in addition to the regular entertainment, they had a larger variety of singers, comedians, magicians, etc. Enjoyed the change very much.

We were on the 8/14 sailing and it was Charlie Love and the Silky Smooth Band.

I am on breakaway now in haven and my butler Ramona is fantastic. I have seen her more in on the first day then my other butler I had two years ago.

We had Ramona when we were in an aft Haven suite April of last year. We loved her, too. Every time we have been on since, we have hoped to have her again, but no luck. We will be on again in an aft suite next week. Please tell her Nancy and Victor hope to have her again starting Sunday.

My wife and I will be boarding on Aug 14. Several people have asked you to find out who the Cruise Director is. I would also like to know who the Captain and Hotel Director are. Thanks and enjoy your cruise.
-
Glad to hear the good reviews. We will be back on the Breakaway in 3 weeks. Can either of you tell me who your Captain, Hotel Director and Cruise Director were? Thanks.
-
Thanks for posting all this great info, especially the pictures. We were on the Breakaway last February and will be back aboard on Aug 14th. Would you let me know who the Captain, Hotel Director and Cruise Director are this week? (Last February they were Hakan Svedung, Prem Kainakkara and Dan Dan.)
-
Great review, thanks. Do you happen to remember who the Captain, Hotel Director and Cruise Director were?
-
You'll be taken up to the Haven and given some snacks (usually sliders) while the concierge welcomes you and briefly explains what he/she can do for you during the week. Then, you are free to do what you want. Some will go to the Haven Restaurant for lunch, many more will go to their cabins and drop stuff off and then explore the ship. Sorry, can't answer about the slides, ropes, etc. Hope you enjoy your cruise.

Thanks to those of you who did the mock bookings. I just did that myself and I also see that the service charges are listed for a non-Haven category (if you choose the UBP and/or SDP), and are not listed for Haven suites. So, I am cautiously optimistic that Haven perk has not been taken away, despite how the latest terms and conditions read.
-
Also, when discussing the gratuities and service charges on the packages, the fine print would always say the guest is responsible for paying them "except when booking a Haven or Suite". It does not say that this time.

I know you arrived back in NY several hours early due to a medical emergency. Hope that person is doing OK.
I am thinking they had to close the shops and casino early, correct? What time did they shut them down?

I have never posted a picture before, but I will try to post 2 pictures of the balcony on aft Haven suite 14872. We always stay in one of the H6 suites, and this was one of the smaller balconies (plenty wide but not particularly deep), but the only real complaint was the window washing contraption you can see at the far end. It blocked your view if you tried to look around the corner.

Who is the maitre'd in the Haven Restaurant this cruise?
-
The Captain is Hakan Svedung.
The Hotel director is Prem.
Scott Mikelonis is the cruise director, but Dan Dan is coming onboard after this cruise for a 2 week large ship training before Scott leaves.
Thanks - we have cruised with all except Dan Dan before. Since you are in the Haven, as we will be, who is the concierge and who is the Haven Restaurant maitre'd?

Enjoying reading your review very much. Last year, we boarded on Jan 31, 2 weeks after you got off, I think. This year, we board this Sunday, Jan 29, 2 weeks after you got off. Someday, we will meet. Was Edgar still the Haven Restaurant Maitre'd?
By the way, are these pictures taking forever to come up for anyone else, or is it just me? They displayed very quickly last year. Is anyone else having a problem?
