  1. That would do my head in. TBH I struggle to understand why anyone wears a baseball cap inside anyway. Happy to be educated as to the logic 🙂
  2. @FetaCheese thoroughly enjoying the updates, thanks for taking the time to pen them. How have you felt O deal with your wife’s allergy? My wife is gluten free (intolerant) and sometimes it can be drama just getting GF bread. On occasion we’ve been told the dish can be modified by which they mean removing the food containing gluten. She ends up with half a dish at full price! I must stress the above are not experiences with O - two separate incidences at top notch European hotels that spring to mind.
  3. @ORV @mauibabes @redraider1966 many thanks for the Islandwings recommendation, I've sent an enquiry form to Michelle. I'm 100% for it, not sure about my wife, she's not keen on small planes! The wealth of knowledge on this board is amazing.
  4. I'm enjoying reading the @FetaCheese thread, my wife and I will be on the 7 day Alaskan cruise this time next year. The original was scuppered by CV-19 and the dates since haven't worked for us. It's also our first ever proper cruise so much to learn. Something I have noticed is the lack of any float/seaplane excursions, which were availble last time. Are they casualties of Covid or has the slightly modified itinerary of VCR/Ketchican/Sitka/Haines/Wrangell got anything to do with it? None of the excursions listed offer anything aerial, except zip wiring! Having never done this before I'm nervous of leaving the comfort of Oceania arranged trips, but don't want to miss out if I could find an acceptable alternative. Any thoughts from you seasoned campaigners? Final question if I may - I assume a trip across to Vancouver Island would be highly recommended whilst in the area?
  5. Thank you all very much for taking the time to reply. Some very good points made but the positives of keeping the booking firmly outweigh the negatives, so we’ll stick with it. Having first had this booked for September 20 and dates not being convenient since, I really hope this time it comes off. I’m a long time lurker and really looking forward to being able to properly visualise and experience all that I’ve read about the Oceania / Regatta offering.
  6. We were supposed to be on our maiden cruise, heading to Alaska, when CV-19 stepped in. One unsuccessful attempt later we are now booked on a Seattle/Seattle trip. I've just been advised it's now Vancouver/Vancouver and Juneau has been dropped, with stops at Haines and Wrangell instead. Do you experienced travellers with Alaskan experience think this is a big deal or nothing to be concerned about? It sort of feels like the trip is doomed but I'm probably over reacting! TIA
