  1. The YVE is in a good location but reviews on CC say the rooms are on the small side. Also there have been complaints about the elevators .... but in time they may be addressed.
  2. While travel to Cuba may be attractive, the Covid situation is paramount for us. When international travel resumes after the new vaccines are introduced, I still will have to weigh all factors .... some unknown. For example, can we believe the covid statistics form all countries.
  3. Good luck in your continuing research. Food for us is important and we constantly are pleased with the food choices on O. Hard to imagine anything better afloat.
  4. Interesting. Key West will have to see how this vote plays out. I can see both sides.
  5. Haven’t heard any complaints about noise from the machines themselves. But, there have been complaints about the people waiting outside for it to open.
  6. Unfortunately we found Miami taxis to be not in the best condition .... not a good next step after a wonderful cruise.
  7. I might agree in general but ... I had smooth and very prompt coverage from insurance I bought through O. Two years ago i was hospitalized for six days and released two days before sailing. The TA got me the forms and I had the physician sign and submitted the claim.... was reimbursed in less than two weeks by the insurance company.
  8. If the OPs question was based on some personal experience, that might be the issue But, it would be more helpful to all to so state that. One can always assume that sales staff are rewarded in some way.... from the proverbial ‘Pat on the back’ to increased remuneration.
  9. We always like to position our night prior to the cruise as close as possible to the port. For us, more peace of mind and minimizes unexpected delays when staying further away.
  10. Some yellow taxis may be glad to take a fare to the Brooklyn terminal in hopes of a return fare as passengers disembark. Others may not even they can’t refuse a fare regardless of destination. Would suggest Uber..
  11. Excellent advice. Depending where you stay the City can be quite walkable.
  12. Good question. There is enough to keep one busy but not to the level of near exhaustion. Many choose to just relax. Either way ..... an enjoyable cruise.
  13. We used CATA car service from the port to MIA ..... always pleased with them. Vehicles were clean and first rate and ready for us.
  14. The concierge lounge is a plus but not all use it .... some folks just get coffee, etc. there and bring it back to their stateroom. The spa terrace is enjoyable. We like the Insignia and would love to sail on it again. Whatever your choice is, I am sure you will enjoy the cruise.
  15. Good question. I anticipate numerous changes ..... some good and some not so.
  16. The pool brings up another issue as the lounges are rather close.....would have to separate in the future for safe travel.
  17. Suggest looking at TripAdvisor to narrow your choice.
  18. The R ships have been a solid revenue stream ...... acquired at reasonable cost. But, they are starting to get “dated” despite renovations. Wouldn’t be surprised to see some offered for sale. But not sure there are buyers right now.
  19. There are a lot of moving parts to restart as they say .... some more important than others. But, hard to say if all will be in proper sync.
  20. If you need to make a fast exit and get on the road, use the port parking.
  21. Agree .... have an alternate plan if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
  22. We have twice been on that Bermuda cruise from NY. The Vista suites do have an issue when the ship is moving forward ... our butler said the furniture is then tied down because of the wind. Also the view was not attractive for us as it overlooked various ship equipment below on the deck. We found the Owners suites aft (rear) meets our needs.
  23. We always stay at the Intercontinental..... if you get a bay view room (vs. city) you can see the cruise ships in the morning.
