  1. Hi, Hoping to hear some advice on the selection of an Aquaclass stateroom on the Eclipse...I would like to have the bed near the verandah and access to the stairs to the spa. Does anyone have any pictures of the stateroom area near the spa stairs? I have the option of selecting stateroom 1527, 1523, 1519 or 1517 and would welcome any information or pictures. Looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you
  2. Which Cabin would you select on Celebrity Eclipse to Alaska. Please tell me the pros and cons between 1120 and 1231 Thank you!
  3. Hello all First time cruiser here and booked on Alaska cruise next summer. We are in a concierge cabin and I need to know how easy (hard) it may be to stow away 3 regular size cases. Thanks. Nigel
  4. Well with all the concern about travelling in 2020, we chose to lift and shift to 2021. This will be our second trip to Alaska, and out first cruise on Celebrity. We are looking forward to the trip and plan to spend a day or so in Vancouver and we are looking forward to meeting all of our fellow cruisers. I can't wait to get planning on excursions, plans. We would love to get your input on making it the best trip ever. Please join and tell us about you and your cruising experience. Jeff and Mary

  6. Just home from the March 1- 30 sailing of the Eclipse. We were told NO ONE was sick with the virus. Now we found out a passenger has tested positive with the virus. The passenger was diagnosed by the ship's doctor with bronchitis about a week ago. They were sent back to their cabin. Then the passenger was diagnosed with pneumonia several days ago. Upon arriving home the passenger has tested positive with the virus. Way to go Celebrity for exposing 4,000 passengers & crew to the virus. Way to go Celebrity for sending thousands home exposing who knows how many to this. You are always saying the health & safety of our passengers is #1 to us. Looks like your bottom line is #1. Anyone who had symptoms of any breathing disorder should have been confined to their cabins. This passenger should have been tested before anyone was permitted to debark the ship.
  7. Thought I would start a new Topic for Refunding Status for Scenic Eclipse passengers that had their cruise cancelled due to the Covid Pandemic. In my case, I requested a cash refund the day Scenic notified my TA that the cruise had been cancelled. No response from Scenic except to parrot the party line that each cancellation would receive a future cruise voucher for 110% of the cruise value. Despite multiple requests of Scenic(emails), there have been no responses or refund status since the cancellation on 6 April. This could escalate very quickly to a lawsuit for Breach of Contract for violation of their own set of T&Cs. Anybody else have a similar story to share?
  8. (4:30 p.m. EDT) – Scenic has begun construction on the line's second "discovery ship", Scenic Eclipse II, with the cutting of the first steel for the vessel at the Maj 3 Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia. Like its sister Scenic Eclipse, which debuted in 2019, Scenic Eclipse II will be a hybrid luxury yacht and expedition vessel, capable of ... View the full article
  9. Hi there, Looking at changing our cruise to next year which gives us several room options. My TA has indicated that the balconies are the same size in square feet, however I see the 1233 appears much bigger. Just wondering your thoughts if you have any insight. TIA
  10. Any help from people in the UK that were on this btb cruise of South America that ended in San Diego, would be appreciated. As you know on the 14th March we were told that we were going to debark in San Antonio, Chile as the cruise was not going to continue to San Diego, USA. We all had to pack our suitcases as we had to leave the ship the next morning. There was a mad scramble to book flights home, which we had to do independently as it was very difficult to get through to any airline. We did not have Choice Air so Celebrity would not help us. We managed to book but as it was less than 3 days before the flight we could not cancel when we were prevented from leaving the ship. Some people on the 15th April cruise that could not board the ship have been fully reimbursed their airfare. I know their circumstances are different but has anyone from the UK received any money from Celebrity for these flights to nowhere?
  11. Croatiaweek reports as of April 24, 2020 the 3. Maj dockyard in Zagreb has started work on Eclipse II, for Scenic. This ship is the first new ship to be built at the dockyard after four years. According to the article the laying of the keel, which I believe was previously to have been in late March of this year will instead be at the beginning of this summer with the Scenic Group planning to buyild an additional four MORE polar cruise ships in the 3. Maj dockyard with a contract value of 860 million Euros. www.croatiaweek.com is the source of this information but it is especially good news for those cruisers booking cruises in 2022...wonder where the maiden voyage will begin and how, with two ships at sea, Scenic will deploy them--maybe some circumnavigations of Australia, New Zealand and Japan?? Inquiring minds are spinning! Three cheers for some good news in these challenging times.

  15. See this link for an article in today's San Diego Union-Tribune. I didn't know there were some South American passengers still aboard Eclipse. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/tourism/story/2020-04-30/cruising-has-stopped-but-ships-with-thousands-of-crew-members-still-in-san-diego-waiting-to-return-home Cruises have stopped, but ships with thousands of crew members still in San Diego waiting to return home

  17. I've having a hard time comparing them in terms of the physical layout.
  18. 10 years ago, Celebrity Eclipse postponed her naming ceremony in Southampton, and set off on a rescue mission to repatriate tourists stuck in Spain due to the volcano eruption 🌋 cancelling flights.
  19. Eclipse scheduled to end our voyage in Santiago Chili this morning has been denied entrance to the port. Currently offshore making circles. Next update scheduled for about 90 minutes.
  20. We haven’t seen a new thread on the Scenic Eclipse lately so I will start this one. This is a 21 day repositioning cruise for the Eclipse from Buenos Aires to Lisbon with several interesting ports and 13 sea days. We chose this cruise for several reasons but the main reason was to see and enjoy the ship, sea days certainly allow for this! Based on the Scenic website I don’t believe we will have a full ship as most room categories are still available and Scenic is discounting the fare. The “less than fully booked” cruise should allow us to enjoy all of the dining venues during the 21 days but sometimes leads to a “quiet ship.” I would encourage anyone interested in cruising on the Eclipse to take advantage of the discounted fare and join us on this cruise. i don’t plan on doing a “live from” thread but will comment on anything I deem interesting as the cruise progresses. I also want to thank everyone that has posted information and pictures on cruises to date, they have been much appreciated and informative!!
  21. My view this morning: Eclipse still in port. Haven't seen any news today about what will happen with the South Americans who haven't been permitted to disembark from Eclipse. Millennium is here for previously scheduled resupply.
  22. I was wondering if anyone has stayed on Celebrity Eclipse cabins 8234,8236 and 8238? I'm planning on a cruise out of Sydney Australia on April 17 2022 for my retirement cruise. There are going to be 2 couples traveling with us and our plan is to book the above cabins. They are hump cabins and it appears that they have the bed the extra bed that hangs down from the wall (which we will not be using). There are 2 per cabin in our group. Does anyone have any reviews comments (good or bad) on these cabins. I know it's a ways out (I've been looking for quite a while), but I was wondering your thoughts. Our TA stated that there is an over hang on the balconies with is good for shade or rain but I was wondering about how it looks. Pictures are wonderful. I've also seen videos of some of the different cabins on the ship. I've noticed that the bed is pretty tight along the bottom near the wall but I don't think that would be a issue for us. Any ideas? Thanks!
  23. Eclipse is docked next to Disney Wonder. Haven't seen any reports yet about disembarkation status.
  24. A break from all the virus threads. Currently on the Eclipse, coming around Cape Horn on Sunday. Weather forecast shows probable E-ticket ride! Google cape weather. For us, lovng it. IMHO, anyone not prepared for big weather shouldn't do the horn! (Bucket list trip).
  25. Any news on what they plan do on Eclipse for the 6 day dry dock in late March thanjs
