If you have a personal or hobby CRUISE or TRAVEL BLOG, include the url here:

  1. Does anyone know of a private van driver who would take people from St. George to Horseshoe Beach. I have group of 20 arriving May 13-15. Just need one day May 14 to visit a beach other than Tobacco Bay.
  2. Headed back to Harmony today. Our first time on her out of Port Canaveral, and the first time on her since the 2018 President's Cruise. Eastern Caribbean with Coco Cay, St Thomas, and St Maarten Hopefully the VOOM (O3B Stream) will keep up
  3. How formal are they? We prefer dining in the MDR & do not mind getting dressed up but we're not formal people. Husband hasn't worn a suit in 4 years. Our son does not have a suit & I see no reason to buy him one for a cruise, especially since he's growing like a weed. obviously we'll eat in WJ if they're truly formal but if not we'll plan for MDR.
  4. We are booked on the Empress for March 29th...we were told by a couple of people that the casino is very tiny and there are less than 100 slot machines, is this true? For those who have cruised on her and been in the casino was it difficult to get a slot machine to play? If it was crowded how was it around midnight, a much better chance of playing a machine?
  5. I'm looking at the Empress for Bermuda itinerary. Can anyone who has stayed in a junior suite comment on the shower size. It looks narrow!
  6. Our first time on the Empress but not our first cruise. Looking for the venue where we can grab an early cup of coffee before dinng in the Windjammer. I enjoy those places that also provide amenities such as cookies or small bites. I have searched the deck plans, but there doesn't seem to be anything available. Thank you.
  7. Just repriced @ $55 pp/pn from $69 for our Empress July 2020 cruise. It pays to take a few minutes and check every so often. Hopefully some of you will benefit from the price drop as well!
  8. Has anyone ever stayed in one in Empress? My sister has a wheelchair and just saw that there are only two wheelchair rooms listed on deck layout. They told me they would ensure we had space in our room for a chair plus a shower where she could sit in her chair. Very cool.
  9. We are long-time loyalist to Royal Caribbean and live in Florida so we have plenty of the 7 night caribbean cruises under our belts. However we want to try something NEW! I'm eyeballing the 12 night out of Montreal that would bring us back to Miami but have a few concerns. In an oceanview room with a 5 and 3 year old would we still love each other afterwards? In seriousness, they DO Have Adventure Ocean for Aquanauts on this ship, correct? Ages 3-5 are together so the kids would finally be together on this ship. We just can't find confirmation on that anywhere.
  10. I am booked in sr 8524 for an upcoming cruise. In studying deck plans I noticed that deck 9 above shows as vacant on the deck plan while deck10 is the buffet. Does this mean that I will be directly below the galley or does something else occupy this space?
  11. My husband has mobility issues. He is not in a wheelchair or uses a walker, but he can not walk long distances. Can anyone suggest the best location for an interior cabin. Close to the elevators but not too close for noise issues. Thank you, Kind regards, Jan
  12. Looking at the aft facing cabins on Empress. Am I correct that there is no protection from the sun?
  13. I am looking at a cruise next year for Empress of the Seas. My young kids have been on many cruises on various cruiselines. This ship doesn't seem to have a lot compared to other ships. Any feedback on kid's activities, events, things to do?
  14. Just got back from an NCL cruise & enjoyed the more intimate dining experience of just our family at the table over our Celebrity dining experience of dining with strangers at the same table. With the Empress' Family Time dining, would it be smaller tables or would we be more likely to end up at a larger table with others. My son did great on the Escape. Not sure how a bigger table with strangers would go.
  15. I saw an article that mentioned the EOS offered complimentary mimosas and Bloody Mary's on certain days, but was not mentioned in the Cruise Planner? Anyone have firsthand knowledge? Main dining room brunch, Windjammer? Thank you.
