  1. I've booked a large balcony room (12165) on Epic for summer 2021. Looking for opinions of the large balcony mid-ship rooms.
  2. Hello! When I was on the Epic for a Mediterranean cruise in both 2014 and 2016, NCL offered a laundry deal towards the end of the cruise. I stuffed everything I could into a laundry bag for a specific price that was pretty reasonable. Does NCL still offer this deal? Any idea on the price? I'm going on an 11 day Greek Isles & Italy cruise in May 2021 and planning to spend some time before and after the cruise in Italy. It would be nice to be able to have some stuff washed. Thanks for your help! Mary Jon
  3. It's hard to say but for me personally I loved the Epic (partly because I went on the Jewel the year before and did not enjoy it). However the things I loved about the Epic (blues club, bowling alley, playing at howl at the moon, legends in concert, Spice H20 pool, Blue Man group) might not all still be there and may not appeal to others.
  4. Hi All, Have booked the first Epic sailing out of Barcelona April 25th 2021 all going well it goes ahead, the ship arrives after a transatlantic so i am wondering what happens.Long waits, crazy port etc. I have sailed out Barcelona 3 times on the Epic so i am familiar with the process but think things will be different after a TA This time we have only 3 nights booked and sailing in the Haven so should board smoothly but i am just wondering will things be rather hectic and should we avoid early arrival. Usually we like to head to port early and start our vacation early
  5. We would definitely select the Epic over the Dawn (regular room or suite) This is the shower and tub in our 2BR suite on the EPIC. Second Shower in our 2BR Epic suite. This is the bathtub in our Dawn suite The shower in our Dawn balcony room
  6. I looked and did not see one on the Getaway, Breakaway or Epic. I believe the Jewel class ships have wine bars and I know the Pride of America did too. It is odd that the Away class ships do not.
  7. On another thread it's been pointed out that now all March 2021 cruises are no longer showing up on NCL.com There had been March 2021 cruises showing up for three ships- Escape, Encore and Joy. Copied from NCL below: Updated December 2, 2020: Your safety is our #1 priority—both on and off our ships. Due to the current global environment, we are extending the suspension of cruises to include all cruises embarking through February 2021. Additionally, we'll be suspending cruises in March 2021 for the following ships; Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegi
  8. Just a quick note to say that on the TA in April 2022 both the Spa balcony cabins and the spa mini suites are showing as sold out because they have been recategorised without the spa access. We have just booked 14098 which used to be an M9 and is now an MA. Guess I'll have to buy a spa pass instead
  9. https://www.ncl.com/in/en/suspended-sailings Updated December 29, 2020: Your safety is our #1 priority—both on and off our ships. Due to the current global environment, we are extending the suspension of cruises to include ALL cruises embarking through March 2021. Previously, we had announced the suspension of cruises on all ships except Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Escape, and Norwegian Joy. Today, we have added those three ships to the list of cruises suspended through March 2021. Guests who had an active reservation on a suspended cruise on Norwegian Encore, Norweg
  10. Epic - the master bed does not split. The Epic beds are also round. Dawn - We were in a forward facing suite on the Dawn and the main bed did split. NCL has been working hard to get rid of those beds (which is basically a skimpy mattress pad over the joint - Not very comfortable or elegant). So, it would not surprise me if the main bed did not split.
  11. We hope to be sailing on the Epic in late 2021 in the Haven. I've been searching high and low for a menu for the Epic Haven Bar & Grill. This is the casual bar/restaurant just outside of the courtyard area on the Epic. I can't find the menu anywhere! I assume it's like O'Sheehan's, only more limited? If anyone has a lead or link to the mysterious menu, I'd appreciate it!
  12. So sorry to hear of your husbands passing. I agree the Epic is better overall for some of the reasons stated above; however, due to memories associated with your last cruise I would suggest starting fresh with the Dawn. Epic will be there for you when the time is right.
  13. Personally I love the Epic, the European cruises are great fun, the Dawn, Spirit and Star are getting a bit old, and unreliable, but good value.
  14. Step78....ref your post no. 2 above. We are on the Apr 2022 Epic TA as well. While the cruise no longer shows on the NCL site, and things appear messed up in my MyNCL account, what is your source that Epic is out and itinerary changing from 14 to 16 days, no longer from NYC, Palma maybe a sea day, etc? I have not called to query NCL yet thinking it’s so far out but perhaps I should.
  15. This might sound like an extreme opinion,, but I totally agree. We stayed in the H6 on a Southern Caribbean cruise right before things were shut down. This was our fifth Haven Suite and third time on the Epic. We did not like it at all. The bed does take up the whole room. The noise from the engines and propellers is deafening, so much so that when the ship is moving you cannot carry on a conversation when sitting outside on the balcony and the vibration at night, is to say the least, is annoying. The washroom layout, just like those on the rest of the ship, is mystifying. I was nursing a spra
  16. I have sailed on the Dawn many times. Once, in a Deluxe Owners Suite, and mostly in Balcony cabins. The balcony cabins had walk-in showers with sliding doors, and the suite had a tub, as well as a shower stall. As others have stated, the Dawn underwent a massive drydock a few years ago and is much improved. Service, food, and entertainment was very good. The crazy bathroom layouts of the Epic keep me from sailing on her.
  17. dont under any circumstances book an aft suite on the epic. the bed is round and takes up almost the entire cabin, 2 people cannot pass each other comfortably, little if any privacy in the bathroom or shower. id rather take an inside cabin, then get a free aft suite on the epic. repeat, dont do it. you'll be sorry if you do, i assure you!!!!!
  18. What's your favorite 2-bedroom suite on the Epic? Prefer Deck 16. Thanks!
  19. NCL just changed our Transatlantic NY-BCN april 2022. The "Epic" deleted from schedule, changed this trip from 14 to 16 nights and looks like they plan to change start and destination. "New York" no more displayed, and Palma d. Majorca - DAY AT SEA (???) - Barcelona. We got a new cabin, a number which only to be found on the Epic. Hm...
  20. Looking for feedback from anyone who stayed in this cabin. Is it noisy being right next to the door?
  21. I used to say Epic hands down. The Breakaway class ships actually took several steps backwards in the Haven area compared to Epic. However being just off the Encore this year, the Encore is the new winner IMHO. OMG. The Haven pool area is larger. The Haven sundeck is better than Posh with 2 giant hot tubs hanging off the side of the ship. The Haven restaurant is huge with an outdoor seating area. The Horizon lounge cant be beat. OMG its huge with amazing views with food and beverages. They pipe in Zen music and its so relaxing. For the first time ever, I really felt as if I was cruis
  22. Hopefully cut off those ugly block of Haven staterooms up top & forward that make the Epic look like she has a "brain tumor". Just kidding, I know there are a lot of Epic fans on here. Please don't flame me; Btw - if you'll notice my profile pic, it is of the Epic so I must not be too anti-Epic, eh?
  23. The Epic has the best Haven in the fleet. It has a super large 2 story lounge. Super big restaurant (unlike the Breakaway and Getaway where they have to put tables on the pool deck vs. loungers as overflow seating (they call it outdoor seating). A large separate outside dining room. The Epic provides you access to the Posh Club (the Vibe on other ships). It has a small private gym overlooking the courtyard. Both steam and saunas. The one downside is that it does not have a roof over the courtyard so the environment is the current outside environment.
  24. And Epic has those huge block of Haven staterooms up high & forward. Makes it look like she has a "brain tumor".
  25. I have 2 storiesre slots on ship i was on Epic ...noticed a 4 screen ladybug machine .From the onset I felt this machine was smilingat me .On second night ...i left my son at a show and headed tothatmachine ...I put 20$ in .presed the button and stopped the screen .The machine started to ringlike crazy ...I knew I had gotten something but I did notknow what ...bingo it appeared 1800$ ..jackpot ...took a while to get paid my second big win happened on Star ...i had a defecrtive machine without sound but nevertheless i played Cleopatra 2 .I was bidding a lot ..but got nothing ...I sw
