  1. heview of Norwegian Epic 24th July to 31st July Flew from Manchester on the morning of the cruise and arrived at Fiumcino airport at 11.00am. I had planned on catching the train to Civitavecchia but unfortunately the Italian transport strike put an end to that idea so had to pay the exorbitant amount of $60 to NCL to go on their shuttle bus, Embarkation was pretty straight forward and was on the ship soon after 1.00pm and straight to O'Sheehans for a quick bite to eat before finding my studio cabin. This was the first time I had travelled solo and found the cabin very ad
  2. I'm looking at a cruise for next Dec 2020 in an H9 Haven Spa Suite on either Escape, Encore or Epic. The Escape & Encore are Western Caribbean. The Epic is Southern Caribbean. I prefer the location of H9 on Escape and Epic because it's right under the Haven. With the Encore it's in back of ship and the Haven is in front of the ship so a long walk. Also, the Spa suites are under gym. Comparing itinerary, Haven experience and the Thermal Suite which ship would you pick and why? Thanks for your feedback.
  3. We are booked on the Epic Transatlantic November 2020. In looking at the deck plans, I noticed a toggle before and after November 8, 2020. The number of cabin types before on Deck 12 was 15; after 12. The aft-facing balcony, which we have, before, is total square footage 205-221 and balcony 54-70. After: 205-309; balcony 54-81. I know there is speculation that the Epic will go into dry dock just before our cruise but seems odd to change the measurements of cabins. And the colors of the categories changed, too. I have nothing to do for 500+ days but to wonder.... AFTER:
  4. I enjoy these before my trips, so hopefully it’ll help you! Some are marked up as my family likes to highlight activities they’re interested in.
  5. We were on the May 19th sailing of Epic out of Barcelona. Excellent cruise. Epic was a lovely ship and the crew was amazing. We had a midship balcony. Bathroom setup was odd, but in some ways, it worked out better for the three of us in the cabin. Having the sink out in the room was a plus when we were all rushing to get ready for early excursions. Our steward was awesome. We had towel animals and ice daily without asking. He quickly learned our routine and only once did we have to wait maybe one-two minutes for him to finish in the evening. I don't understand all the negati
  6. Hi we’re booked on Epic October 27 from Barcelona. Have adult beverage package as one of the Free at sea perks. Just wondering if I will be able to get fever tree when I order Gin/Tonic?
  7. Looking to book a cruise for next year before our cruisenext certificates expire. The Epic is far less than the Breakaway. Our only NCL cruise was on the Getaway and we loved it! I assume the Epic isn’t nearly as nice comparing the price differences. ??
  8. Hi Everyone, Cruising NCL Epic on Jan 5, 2020 for 11 nights. NCL buffet's usually have a theme dinner each night, but can anyone tell me which night of an 11 night sailing would be the seafood theme? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks, dadwas
  9. Hi All, I am looking for a email contact address for the Hotel Director or Guest Service Manager currently on the NCL Epic (If such a thing is possible) and wonder if anyone has such a thing or be able to point me in the correct direction on where or whom to contact? I should maybe add this is not to complain about anything but rather to help arrange something for an upcoming cruise on the Epic which they may be able to assist with. Thanks in advance.
  10. I was wondering if anyone had more information on current rates and guidelines for booking our teen/preteens arcade passes for our 10 day cruise on the Epic in March 2020. Do we have to book all four of us a pass or just the kids? How much per day? When can it be booked and how? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
  11. So our Epic Cruise ends tomorrow. I have mixed feelings but I don’t think I’m converted from Royal but if the price was right I might go on another NCL. Food was excellent, on at, if not slightly better than Royal. I found it an extremely noisy ship , with lots of people talking 50 decibels above others, not sure why they talk so loud😳 (alcohol maybe) but now i get the need for the Haven. The Howl at the Moon was great but it was on 4 nights out of 7 with not one comedian on Headliners ? Priscilla and Burn the floor were also excellent but they were on 5 of the 7 nights with a singer and th
  12. Here is our review of our 7-nightcruise on NCL EPIC! Yes, we talk a little about the bathroom situation but from a slightly different angle. 😁 https://youtu.be/STih0UdSA5k
  13. Is there a difference in an MA and MB catergory ?
  14. Looking to book a large balcony for a European cruise. Anyone have suggestions a great room with a really nice balcony? I know the balcony sizes can vary. Thanks
  15. It appears the Epic doesn't have a Sugarcane Mojito bar. On the Bliss we were told that was the only bar that served the flavored or specialty mojitos. My mother spied a drink on the Sugarcane menu that she's looking forward to trying. We will have the beverage package and I'd like her to be able to order the drink. Where are the Specialty mojitos made on the Epic?
  16. Does anyone know which floor the studio lounge is on.....on Epic.... Also do they still have a bar in the Lounge? thanks
  17. Can anyone shed some light on what the balcony’s look like on the Epic 8013. I can’t seem to find a picture.
  18. Going to be on Epic in just over a month and found out that we can't drop our luggage off at our Barcelona Air BNB until 11:30 on the day we get off the ship. I see lots of people talking about the earliest they can get off the ship to catch flights and such, but what is the latest? Trying to figure out how to avoid being off the ship too early with no where to put luggage for hours.
  19. On 24th July, I have a booking on the Epic, flying into Rome and making my own way to the port at Civitavecchia. Whilst I have in the past walked from the railway station at Civitavecchia to the port to get back on the Epic, can anybody advise about the locality of the NCL cruise terminal which seems to be a new building from the last time I was there. Is it easy enough to find when walking into the port? The cruise docs make no mention as to the location of the cruise terminal for checking in.
  20. We are taking a cruise on the NCL Epic end of July. I am trying to book a ferry trip in Naples, and theres an 8:05 am ferry. My cruise itinerary documents say we arrive in Naples at 7am. I assume we literally arrive at 7am, and then have to wait to be cleared? or does that mean we will be able to get off at 7am? Anyone have any advice or info on this? I don't want to miss the ferry. There is later times possible, but it would just cut down the already short day. TIA!
  21. Hi everybody. This is my first ever post on the Norwegian boards. 🙂 I am thinking about booking a cruise for next March, and if I do, it'll be a solo studio. I will want to spend as little time in the stateroom as I can. I saw a video review on YouTube that stated that the deck personnel stack 100% of the deck loungers in the evening, making them of course unavailable to use. Does anyone know, is this actually the case? I'd hoped to chill on the deck in the evening after dinner, at least a couple times. Thanks cruisers. 😁
  22. Hi, we are off in 3 weeks time and this will be our first Haven experience and we want to get the most from it. Does anyone have any useful tips? Would you bother with breakfast in the Haven or can we have room service if we are in a hurry? We have booked 6 speciality restaurants on our 7 day cruise but if the Haven restaurant is really good, we could skip a few? Can we have lunch around the pool or in posh or do we have to leave to go to the buffet? Any tips/help would be great
  23. I have just booked a 7 day cruise on the Epic sailing from Rome on 24th July in studio cabin 11510. This is the first time I have ever cruised alone having recently split up with my Wife. I am a little wary about a solo cruise and would love to know of other solo cruisers who have been in a studio on the Epic. Are there any tips that would be useful to be aware of. Any help would would be appreciated.
  24. We just got back from the Western Mediterranean on the Epic embarking/disembarking from Rome. We had a fabulous time! The ports, ship and crew were wonderful. We enjoyed all our meals in the Specialty restaurants, MDR and O’Sheehans. The entertainment we saw was also very good. It was a very busy week but so well worth it! I’ve gotten a lot of help from CC members so If you have any specific questions, I’ll try and answer them for you.
