  1. I have a large group booked and the balcony cabins are currently on Deck 8 forward (EPIC) and it appears it's over the Bliss lounge. Is this going to be an issue when it comes to sound at night? We have a pretty lively group, and most of them will be the passengers making noise late into the evening, but was wondering about the sound from below if anyone wants to sleep early.
  2. I boarded on 5/12 from Barcelona and will disembark tomorrow. I'll try to post the dailies and do a mini review.
  3. Any recent Epic cruisers...do you know if any of the following slot machines are in the casino... Oceans Magic Lobstermania Sea Goddess Money to burn Garden fairies Fishing contest Thank you for any information
  4. Back home after a nice cruise. Weather was fantastic and overall we had a great cruise. This was our 5th cruise after 2 with MSC and 2 with Celebrity, so we were excited to see if NCL can compare to Celebrity. In short: no. Food and wine in MDR and overall standard is much better on Celebrity, but the big win for NCL is the entertainment. Ship: it is a big ship but we liked most of it. The odd bathroom set up in the cabin was not a problem for us, however the cabin (balcony 9043) is very compact. We loved the H2O adult only area. Smoking: As a smoker you're in for
  5. My friend and I will be on the Epic for a 12 day cruise in an inside since my upgrade bid was not accepted. I am starting to panic over space for our stuff. I know the bathroom door is rounded and I was wondering if I could hang one of these 24 pocket over-the-door things on the bathroom door to have some place to put stuff. Has anyone ever done this? Also can I request a chair to sit on as sitting on the bed is going to make my back hurt! Any helpful tips appreciated!
  6. I was wondering if some of you kind CC members would be able to provide me some info on the Posh Beach Club on EPIC? Do you have to pay for access and if so how much and can you pre-book before you go? Is it worth the money? Does anyone have any recent pictures as those on the web seem to vary? Thanks in advance
  7. We are thinking of spending a few hundred dollars more to book the Norwegian Epic out of San Juan. We would need 2 rooms for our family of 5 with 3 teens (16, 17 & 18). If we choose sail away, are we likely to get rooms on the same floor? We are just looking into options as we saw one company offering cash back so might be very similar price to pick our own rooms. (We've only been on one cruise so we don't know a lot about finding deals. We are happy to cruise with things that are included)
  8. This was our first NCL cruise as well as our first trip to Europe. My husband and I are both 50, and the trip was a 25th anniversary celebration. I will make a few general comments first and then give a day-by-day rundown. I will only include photos from the cruise itself. I have a zillion amazing photos from all of our excursions (plus we spent 5 days in Italy post-cruise), but I will focus on the NCL photos for this trip report. We had a balcony cabin (#9165) and while the layout of the room was unusual (as I had read repeatedly on these boards), we had no issues. Hubby is tall (
  9. Just got off EPIC IN rome ...lovely ship crew awesome .hats off to Amir GM and Grace who took care of me .Thanks for bday decorations and treats ...merci to Denis much appreciated entertainment ...Priscilla and Burn the floor really awesome ...loved both very high energy ...best shows on seas weather was soso at best got caught in heavy rain in Cannes ...yuuuuuck barcelona had demos so I stayed put ...now Romeis gearing up today friday ..oylots of unhappy citizens everywhere ...train and busstrikes ..not fun i.m sure ... hope it gets better mich
  10. First time cruisers going on the Epic to Caribbean and very excited! We are travelling with 2 kids, aged 10 and I have a couple questions about activities. - For the water activities, do we need to "sign up" or get wrist bands or anything for them? - If they do the Splash Academy, will they have a something like Disney does with the bands for tracking and/or sign-in/out - Specialty Dining - can they get something from the kids menu, then order something ala carte? Like a dessert? - Is there mini-golf on board? I see pictures but it is not listed on the site? Did I just miss
  11. To educate myself for my upgrade bid, I was curious what Haven suites are available. I was able to mock select specific rooms for all the available Haven suite types except the "Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa with Balcony" which is only offered at a guaranteed rate (where Norwegian picks the room for you). A week or two I was able to mock and count the available suites in ALL Haven suites. I wonder why this Haven suite is only at a guaranteed rate now? Maybe lots of upgrade bidding on this room which makes them want to stay flexible? Maybe something else?
  12. Hi, hopefully, I am not having a senior moment and repeating myself. We want to make comedy club reservations ASAP. Is this something that we must wait to do onboard? I am still unable to make them on my NCL....thanks,😊😊
  13. I read on the Norwegian web site that two drinks are included with the "entry fee" for the Ice Bar on the Epic. Can anyone tell me how much the entry fee is?
  14. I booked a DOS suite 17033 yesterday for Jan 2021 on the Epic. My only other experience on NCL was in a DOS on Pride of America this past February. There were quite a few DOS suites available. The booking engine recommended 17033. I would appreciate any opinions/recommendations as to which would be best. There are several available on Deck 17 and a few left on Deck 16. Any other thought/recommendations about getting the most from Epic/haven/dos appreciated
  15. Hi all, just wondering about the ports on the Western Med cruise. We’ll be doing the following ports - Rome, Naples, Florence & Pisa, Cannes, France and Palma De Mallorca, Spain. Anyone good info on the ports? In any of them are you within walking distance of the cities in that you can just stroll off the ship at the quay and have a look around... or are you berthed miles away from anything that you have to book an excursion or tour? Thanks.
  16. Scheduled for Valetta but due to the weather she changed route to Piraeus,my port, where she made her maiden arrival today morning under heavy rain
  17. I’ve a cruise booked on Epic out of Barcelona in May next year. I’ve a couple of friends who will be disembarking the day I will embark. We’re intending to meetup for a while before I get onto the ship. however, I would like to know how early I can drop off baggage safely, or should I leave it stored at my hotel until I’m ready to actually check-in at the port. I’m assuming the setup at Barcelona port will be similar to Miami, where bags are dropped kerbside and you don’t bring them into the pier terminal with you for checkin.
  18. I've only been on NCL once on the Escape in Aft Haven. We also bought the passes for the Thermal Suite. I loved the ship, the Haven, the restaurants, the entertainment and the Thermal Suite. As you can tell we really enjoyed ourselves. I'm thinking about book the Epic for a TA in a Haven SPA suite. What will be the main differences between the Escape & the Epic. Which ship did you prefer and why? Thank you for all your feedback!
  19. Reservations for our 7-day Epic cruise out of San Juan open this week and I have a couple of questions regarding the shows. My husband will be doing dialysis while on the ship and I want to make sure our timing ends up being okay. Are Burn the Floor and Priscilla only available two nights on 7-night cruises? What are the normal show times? We don't plan on seeing the Cirque dinner show -- my husband and I have seen it twice and the friend who travels with us has seen it once, so we only need to worry about the other two. Thanks!
  20. Hello! We're getting excited for our cruise on Epic in April. We're still fairly new to NCL, and I have a question about booking excursions. We typically prefer non-ship tours, but I'd like to use our $50 shore excursion credit in at least a couple of the the ports. I was thinking zip lining at Harvest Caye and possibly Maya Key on Roatan. When I log in and go to "Explore and Plan," I'm only seeing 1 excursion for HC and 1 for Roatan vs. 14 for Costa Maya and 36 for Cozumel. I'm assuming more will be added for HC and Roatan. Any rhyme or reason as to when? Can the zip lining on HC be booked in
  21. Who has had 4 adults in a balcony cabin on Norwegian Epic and how did it work out?
  22. Can some one who has been on Epic recently tell me what kind of bands they have playing in The Cavern Club. I saw Siglo on there a few years ago and loved it, but I know they have moved onto Bliss. Looking to see if they have been replaced with something similar Thanks
  23. Are there any kind of LGBTQIA/queer-friendly meetups on the Epic? This will be my first cruise (Western Mediterranean leaving Civitavecchia on 10/30) and I haven’t seen anything about this specifically, although I read that these might be called Friends of Dorothy on cruises. I’d love to meet other cruisers from the LGBTQIA community on the ship 😊
  24. I booked a GTY Balcony on the Epic, and was assigned a B2 category, which is a Family balcony that can accommodate 4, the cabin is 14047. Is this room going to look / feel more crowded with unused beds hanging from the walls? I searched for reviews of this cabin but noting specific - wonder if the balcony is obstructed, or what size, also guessing the bed is closer to the bathroom than the balcony? Anything you share as to what this cabin might look & layout is appreciated.
  25. Hey Everyone, just getting ready to book on the Epic for January and I'm torn. I was about to book a BX balcony but after looking at a few reviews I am feeling like they stick you with the balcony with an enclosed area with only a small hole to see through. I don't mind at all a lifeboat below. So, I looked at the mni suite, which doesn't seem to be any larger, other than the shower. I'm finding mixed reviews about them. My question is: what are the chances of getting a good balcony with the sail away or do I have a better chance at a good balcony with a sail away mini suite? Any
