  1. Since the restart of cruising, I’ve become a compulsive checker of Cruisecritic and Mycruises. I’ve stopped cleaning my house, online shopping (except cruise stuff), working out and I barely even cook dinner. I do walk my dog a couple times a day because I can’t take the sad looks she gives me when I say “not now”. I also occasionally let my husband “get lucky” so he doesn’t give me the same looks my dog does. I think I’m going crazy! Instead…I’m on here looking for intel on my upcoming cruises and updates on protocols etc. The new pier timed check in process has me stressed out. Im 74 days from my next cruise (Explorer out of San Juan) and no online check in yet. So worried about getting a late time that I’m logging in a dozen times a day. I have 11 cruises booked and it’s consuming me and all my time! Anyone else finding the emotional covid seesaw impacting their days? I can’t be the only one!!

  4. Be safe! My son had an accident with a large buck. He didn't hit it, it hit him! He was leaving work after dark and as he pulled out of the parking lot, this huge buck ran out of the woods and into the side of his SUV. I was on the phone with him at the time and heard the massive crash. Dang thing got up and ran away, leaving the passenger side door of my son's Explorer completely caved in, dent on the rear quarter panel, bodily fluids and a large scratch from his antlers on the drivers door. I forget the total cost of repairs but it was crazy. They had to replace the door because it was so bent. Luckily, he wasn't on the highway yet. If he was going any speed, it likely would have flipped the SUV. Policeman tried to go find the buck as he felt he might need to put it down.
  5. I remember eating them and pizza during a monday night football game on the Explorer. I usually sail the smaller ships and did not see them on there. I am sailing on the Adventure which has a promenade and I was just wondering if they were still there.
  6. My family had them on the Explorer in 2014 at the cafe Promenade. As you can see by the link I shared, this is not something I am imagining. My family were discussing them today during a web call and wondering if they still existed.
  7. I have cruised on Freedom, Anthem, Explorer, Oasis, Allure, Grandeur, Vision and Enchantment and have never heard of or seen them. And, no one on any of our 20+ cruises have ever mentioned them.
  8. I have only sailed on Explorer of the Seas where I had them. I usually sail on the smaller vision class ships and never saw the pies after our 2014 cruise. Are they a thing of the past?
  9. Explorer of the Seas in September 2018 for a Pacific coast cruise. The two days in San Francisco were great. That was my first solo cruise.

  11. We were on the Explorer Transatlantic from Southampton Oct/Nov 2019. Even though Itinerary was changes it was a wonderful Cruise.
  12. Which of these categories/ships will I get comp. Voom Surf-n-Stream? OS Explorer, Jewel & Serenade GS Navigator, Harmony, Serenade
  13. The difference is that the Explorer gesture creates loads of publicity that generates into free advertising and in turn maybe increased bookings as well as good will. Taking care of its employees -- not so much.
  14. Cadiz Indipendence of the seas: (13/2), (2/6) Mariner of the seas: 6/3 & 20/3 (Drydock?) Explorer of the seas: (6/3) Symphony of the seas: 23/3 & 11/4 (Drydock?) Odyssey of the seas: 19/4, 31/10 Anthem of the seas: (5/7), 6/7, (20/7), 24/7, 10/8, 7/9 These in bold I think are old listings.
  15. Yes...normally Crown Bay....There's always the chance of over crowding but that rarely happens..so it's pretty safe to assume that Explorer will dock at Crown Bay
  16. So all Royal ship dock at crown bay?? We’re on Explorer in November and wondered. We like to take the ferry to water island for the day from crown bay. That would be great news if true. I just don’t see any excursions I like that we haven’t already done! Sitting on Honeymoon Beach on Water Island is a great super inexpensive way to have a great day!
  17. I'm on November 7th on Explorer out of SJ. I think it will be a go. Especially after seeing this latest email.
  18. Received this email this morning. Sounds like Royal is going to try like heck not to cancel additional start-ups this fall. I’m on a B2B on Explorer from San Juan in November and have seriously contemplated booking on a ship that is already sailing. Last night I was soooo convinced San Juan wouldn’t go. My husband has loads of vacation time this year….I’m determined to get some of those double points in 2021. Ugh! Already past final pay on the SJ trips. Dear Crown & Anchor Society members, We are back! It has been full steam ahead since June, when Adventure of the Seas became the first Royal Caribbean International ship to sail the Caribbean after many months. Now 13 of our incredible ships are cruising again, including the brand-new Odyssey of the Seas, and all 26 ships will be sailing by spring 2022. It’s onward and upward on all fronts — including several new developments I’m excited to share with you! We’ve done everything but let up after our first cruise in North America. Every simulated voyage so far has passed with flying colors, more of our crew members are returning to work and getting fully vaccinated, and our health and safety measures continue to prove how effective they are week after week. More than 160,000 guests and their loved ones have safely cruised with us from home ports across the U.S., U.K., The Bahamas, Cyprus, Italy, Singapore and Spain. And there’s more to look forward to when Oasis of the Seas departs on her first-ever cruise from Cape Liberty on September 5, cruises restart from Tampa, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico in October and November; Navigator of the Seas becomes our first ship to sail from LA in a decade on November 19, and Ovation of the Seas marks our return to Australia in December. Get a look at our full lineup here. This has been a herculean effort, and throughout it all, our crew have been the shining stars you’ve always known them to be. Their commitment, positive attitude and smiling faces have made this all possible. And we can see the results of their impact in the feedback and record-setting guest ratings. I’m even prouder to stand alongside them — a sense of pride I didn’t realize could be stronger than it already was. While we’ve been focused on getting back to delivering memorable vacations to all of you, there’s been as much effort behind bringing to life the new adventures to come. Construction on the next world’s largest cruise ship and the fifth Oasis Class sister, Wonder of the Seas, is nearly complete. Keep an eye out because in the coming weeks we plan to share other exciting details — a new Royal Caribbean ship always has more than may meet the eye. I can also hardly wait to share more news about our plans in The Bahamas, including another expansion to make Perfect Day at CocoCay even more perfect with an entirely new experience we’re calling Hideaway Beach — you heard it here first! How exciting is it to talk about new ships and experiences again? We’re just getting started. As we look ahead, know that we’ll keep making your well-being and that of our crew and the destinations we visit our top priorities. Our health and safety measures will adapt to however many more curveballs and changes COVID-19 may have for us, including requirements from various countries and authorities. For example, The Bahamas issued a policy requiring guests 12 and older on a cruise ship visiting the islands to be fully vaccinated, effective September 3 through November 1. How have we adjusted? All our cruises from Florida visiting The Bahamas must require that our guests 12 and older be vaccinated. This now means every Royal Caribbean cruise from the U.S. will sail with fully vaccinated guests, while still welcoming children under 12 who are ineligible for the vaccine today. We do appreciate your understanding as we make changes and navigate these waters as best as we can for everyone’s safety. As unpredictable as the seas have been over the last 17 months, you’ve never wavered. Thank you for your support through it all. One of the ways we’d like to show our gratitude is by safely bringing back several Crown & Anchor Society benefits that were paused due to COVID-19. We recognize just how important your benefits are to you, and you can expect the following to return with some small adjustments on cruises setting sail as soon as September 1: • The Diamond Lounge is fully opening its doors to welcome more Diamond members and above • The exclusive Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club Top-tier Event • Complimentary breakfast in specialty restaurants for Pinnacle Club members Also incredibly important is the ongoing temporary pause on access to the Suite and Concierge lounges. Pinnacle Club members, please know we have been determined to bring you a dedicated space to come together in the meantime. We’ve found a way for you to do just that by introducing a Pinnacle Club Lounge to host nightly gatherings on each ship, where there will be light hors d’oeuvres and full bar service. This will be available to each member through November 1, during which we’ll consistently evaluate the current public health circumstances for everyone’s well-being on board. We’re committed to returning this benefit to you as soon as practically possible. There is more to come as we continue to keep you, our most loyal guests, top of mind. You can find more details about your returning benefits and more here. Whether we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming you on board this year already or you’re planning to cruise with us soon, we are counting down the days till we see you again. Let’s get cruising! Michael Bailey President & CEO Royal Caribbean International "Loyal to Royal"
  19. November: Freedom 4-day: $69.99 USD Adult $40.99 USD Child November: Symphony 7-day: $74.00 USD Adult $44.00 USD Child April: Symphony 7-day: $65.99 USD Adult $38.99 USD Child May: Explorer 6-day: $65.99 USD Adult $38.99 USD Child As to whether it's worth it or not, that's entirely subjective. It's essentially an open-air elevator, it goes straight up and straight down. Not worth it to me, but others might enjoy it.
  20. My adult son and daughter are looking to find out two things. They’re looking for a Frisbee golf course on one of the islands we visit, and two, they want to play night badminton in the volleyball/basketball court area with their light-up shuttlecocks. No, I’m not kidding, this is really what they’re most excited about. Nighttime Badminton. We’re on Explorer of the Seas and it’s our first time on an RC sailing., so we don’t know what to expect from the sporting area. Anyone know anything about how the sports area is set up for volleyball? Is there a net that can be setup, or is it only available to use when crew sets up certain times for group play. I can’t imagine there are too many other goofs - I mean passengers who are looking to play nighttime badminton 🏸 in the middle of the ocean. They’re packing their rackets and frisbees. As far as the Frisbee Golf goes, they’re on their own.
  21. So far Royal has not adopted this recommendation and I don't think they will. Royal has committed to a November 7th startup with Explorer out of San Juan. I think it will go.
  22. CDC updated testing requirements to 2-day/48 hours for vaccinated pax. As Explorer leaves from San Juan, I see this posing a logistical problem for these sailings to proceed. I don’t want to be a pessimist I but really don’t think these NOVEMBER cruises will be panning out with these accelerated testing timeframes. We are flying into San Juan on a Friday which leaves no room for testing at home prior. So to cover our bases just in case they do, it appears the only way to guarantee a 48-hour test result prior to sailing is by ordering the Abbott Binaxnow AG Card test that is accepted by RCL and seems to guarantee a timely result. They are quickly selling out, we ordered ours today. I find it curious that unvaccinated passengers get a 3-day window, even though supposedly any ship stopping in St Thomas must be 100% vaccinated. We are really regretting paying final deposit now.
  23. In the past, we’ve never had a problem setting up MTD for 545 or 600 pm. Over the last few years, it seems cruise planner never offers anything earlier than 730. I don’t believe the earlier times are already gone. I’m on here every day and make my dining reservations the day they are released. I also don’t believe they actually make people wait until 730 to eat at their “preferred dining time”. Going on Explorer in late November/December from San Juan ( if it goes). Does anyone know when MTD actually starts? It’s not just this cruise. I have stuff booked all the way to March of 2023 and same issue getting earlier MTD times on every ship. Ive started booking earlier traditional (530), but that not ideal because we’d only be in the dining room like 3 nights during the week. Hate doing that to the servers. If MTD actually starts at 6-630, we’ll do that even if we can’t reserve ahead. Hate screwing over the main dining staff by rarely being there.
