  1. We made a reservation for the zip line in Haiti, taking advantage of OBC and Cyber Monday pricing. Our time is 8 a.m. According to the itinerary, we dock at Labadee at 7 a.m. Will this be a problem? Since we made the reservation thru the Cruise Planner, will we be accommodated if there's some reason the ship doesn't dock on time and we can't disembark in time?
  2. I was looking at the deck plans on Explorer for the Jr. Suites. Does anyone know how the cabin layout changes depending on if there's a connecting stateroom or not?
  3. Hi everyone, I am planning European cruise with family next summer (seniors and 2 kids ages 8 and 10) and trying to decide between the ships - Allure, Anthem or newly refurbished Explorer. Ports are secondary for us, we are familiar with most of them and will enjoy any of them. But want to choose the ship that would be most fun. Criteria's were: - must have waverider (I believe all 3 do?) - must have great food (is one better then other?) - which has the best kids club? - any of them have water slides? - which has the most fun activities for acti
  4. Does anyone know if the muster stations are inside or outside? We have station D25 and the plaque on the back door makes it look like it's outside.outsiders
  5. How can I find out which pier Explorer will dock at when she arrives in Miami on Tuesday?
  6. Does the Crown & Kettle Pub on Explorer of the Seas serve any food, and if so is there a fee for it? If so, can you provide a link to the menu? Considering whether to get the Unlimited Dining, and as I'm not a big sushi fan, it seems we'd be bouncing between Chops & Giovanni's, with maybe a lunch or two at Johnny Rockets (where I understand we'd still need to pay for any milkshakes). I'm concerned we might get bored eating at the same places over 9 days (and 5 sea days), so I'm trying to determine if there are any other places where the $35 a la carte dining credit might
  7. Does Izumi still have hot rock cooking on the Explorer of the Seas? -Tim-
  8. We're in a JS on the Explorer and we're looking at maybe bidding up... do we need to get a coffee maker? Some posts here make it seem there is a coffee maker and a tea kettle but other material we've seen doesn't include it. Would appreciate the definitive word. Yes to a coffee maker and kettle?
  9. Because of bad weather ahead we are now staying in Lanzarote until 6p, we were scheduled to leave at 1p. Ports of Vigo and A Coruna have been cancelled and we are waiting to hear where we may go instead. Scheduled back into Southampton on Tuesday 11/5. We were 2 hours late into Funchal making it a very short stop due to the weather on the way down.
  10. Heading out on Explorer in January and wondering if anyone can tell me what, if any, broadway show they might be performing in the theatre? Appreciate your input!
  11. We have never been really happy with Voom on any ship. We really just like to keep in touch with family and we don’t stream movies etc. My DH really enjoys his newspaper in the morning and reading it with Voom is difficult. Wondering if adding streaming would help?
  12. Hi there! We are sailing on the Explorer of the Seas in February and I am debating whether to add the internet package or not. We have unlimited service with Verizon and utilize their TravelPass when traveling to other countries. I am wondering, however, if it will work on the ship as well? We have t sailed in a few years so I cannot remember. Any advice is really appreciated! Thanks!
  13. My husband is booked as a single on Explorer on the November 29 2019 sailing (he booked alone because I don't have any vacation time left to go with him), and he's trying to talk me into going with him and working from the ship for that work-week instead of him just sailing alone or me taking vacation time I don't have. We would have an inside cabin. I'm apprehensive, not at all sure I'd be able to find a comfortable place to work from, or that the internet would be adequate, or that it wouldn't be too distracting. On the other hand, I have a lot of "downtime" on cruises where I'm borderline-b
  14. Saw the post about CruiseSat coming to various ships but I'm on the Explorer next month the Saturday night of the big Penn State-Ohio State showdown. Is that going to be shown on board ship? If so will it be somewhere that is smoke free? What's your experience with college fb on RCI?
  15. I'm not picky about the food as long as I can dine outside. Are there any spaces with dining tables set up outside on Explorer?
  16. We are on Explorer in Feb 2020 and was wondering if we need to get tickets to the evening shows each night or just go, find a seat and enjoy the show? Also we are signed up for My Time dining because early ding was not available so do we need to make a reservation each night to dine or can we go the first night and get a table and request that table again for the remainder of the cruise??
  17. For the Dec 13th sailing, I am able to upgrade from inside to either balcony GTY or panoramic oceanview (bigger room). Since we are a party of 2 adults 2 small kids, we would likely end up in a "spacious balcony" rather than a regular balcony. The upgrade would cost me $39CAD per cabin, however I would lose my $125 OBC. What should I do?
  18. Does the Explorer have separate USB ports in cabins? Related question, I know you are not allowed to bring extension cords on the ship. Are you allowed to bring the multi-outlet/usb hub units that plug directly into the outlet without a cord? I know they can't be surge protected. And would any of them even fit though? It seems like the outlets are in kind of a tight space.
  19. I saw some reviews before I went that the ship was looking worn and tired. That was not my experience at all - everything was fine. Cabin was clean and comfortable and generally the ship seemed in decent condition - can't expect a new ship/new refurb all the time. Food was generally ok. Had one inedible main course in the MDR but that can happen. Service first night was very slow but after that fine. Very disappointed in the Formal nights. At least half didn't bother first formal night - and there were guests in the MDR in t shirt and tracksuit bottoms. We didn'
  20. Hi! I am booking a Mediterranean cruise for the family and Explorer of the Seas seems to be the only one on the itinerary we wanted. Family of 5 with 2 adults and 3 school aged children. My travel agent told me that the Ultra Spacious Ocean View room (265 sq. ft.) at the very front of the explorer can hold all 5. Two questions: 1. Have any of you had experience with these rooms? Would it be enough space for 5? Should I add an inside cabin just for the extra bathroom? 2. My son is prone to motion sickness, so we always do midship. Will the very front be too roc
  21. Is the bed near the door or balcony, on Explorer, in the regular balcony staterooms?
  22. Not sure if we want to book a Jr. Suite or not. Does Explorer have any up dinning for jr. suites? We have not been on this ship since it moved out of NJ and thinking about a cruise 2021 after dry dock. Last time we booked a suite they had special suite area for the pool but that was G. Suite. They did have special dinning for lunch and breakfast.
  23. If any has taken the 9 day cruise out of Miami on the Explorer recently, could you please copy a few pages of the Compass for me? I am trying to decide which dining time to get. I know we can do anytime, but my family likes a regular table with other people We currently have late dining which is our preference, but last time we missed a lot of events, especially Karaoke which my son loves to do!! Thanks for any help.
  24. My mother is on deck 12 for a cruise next week on Explorer of the Seas,. In the ticket booklet it gives the check in time from deck 10 downwards - deck 12 is not mentioned. I assume it has not been updated since the cabins on deck 12 were added even though this was a a few years ago. So I phone the call centre to ask about check in for deck 12. The first agent just couldn't get what I was asking and eventually came back saying Royal Caribbean. never board by deck number and therefore my question was wrong. The 2nd agent understood the question. but didn't have any ans
  25. Just got off Allure of th Seas Diamond drinks were available during happy hours at any bar, lounge, or main dining room. is it the same on Explorer of the Seas? Also there was a complimentary latte/cappachino machine on Allure. Is there one in Explorer?
