  1. The USA government spent BILLIONS of dollars to facilitate the quick development of multiple vaccines through Operation Warp Speed. How much did Canada spend for the development. Of course we get first right to the vaccines that we, the American taxpayer, funded. Yes, the pharmaceutical companies are going to make back multiples of BILLIONS, but it is nice to have big Pharma when you need it. I don't care about cruising in Canada this year, I am heading to Manitoba (hopefully) in October. Marc PS In the spirit of full disclosure, the Canadian taxpayers pa

  4. Holding cruise for Summer 2022 and wondering if anyone has current status of refurbishment/amplification project? She was supposed to go in May 2020 for a major $110mm refurbishment as part of the cruise line’s wider fleet amplification project, which of course was cancelled. Thanks much for any info or guidance on where I can read more about what is to come with the ship.

  6. We'll wait until our March 2022 Caribbean B2B cruise on the Explorer to see what's happening with the DL. 🍻
  7. I’m booked in a connected junior suite on Explorer of the seas (1652) as it was the last one left. I couldn’t find any clear pictures on line that can show me where the connecting door is located and how it impacts the layout. It looks like the door might be by the balcony instead of near the entrance to the room. Appreciate any help. Trying to be optimistic!
  8. I'm amazed the Oasis class can even go to Bayonne .. meaning .. make it under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. Seemed close enough on the much smaller Explorer a few years back .. and then 2 yrs ago on the Norwegian Escape, we seemed even closer to hitting the bottom of that bridge!
  9. I know this is very subjective, but always like to hear others' opinions! I have a group of 12 (bridal party) looking to take a cruise in February 2022 - a mix of adults (oldest in mid 40s so no mobility issues, etc) - 4 of those are young adults ages 14, 16, 20, 20 - they are not highly active / adventurous, just normal kids. This will be the first cruise for 6 of the 12 people. I'm looking at either a cruise on either of these routes: Harmony (from Port Canaveral): St Thomas, Antigua, Coco Cay Explorer (from San Juan): St Thomas, St. Croix, St. Lucia, St. Martin, St. Kitt
  10. Official Royal word is that: • Brilliance of the Seas • Enchantment of the Seas • Explorer of the Seas • Liberty of the Seas • Grandeur of the Seas • Oasis of the Seas • Radiance of the Seas • Rhapsody of the Seas • Spectrum of the Seas • Vision of the Seas • Voyager of the Seas are out of operation through Aug 31st. So, my guess is no earlier than that.
  11. My son will be almost six at the time of sailing and think he would have a better time with Explorer group and space. Do Royal 'hardline' ages as far as the clubs go? I'm not sure how much mileage he will get out the Aquanauts program being one of the very oldest kids. Thanks in advance.
  12. I know we have been going through the pandemic and the Covid-19, and hopefully before long, we ALL will be able to cruise again. I have done RC ships before, but normally I do another cruise line. My question in regard to The Explorer of the Sea ship. If you have cruised this line within the past couple of years, would you give me YOUR opinion of the pros/cons of this ship? My main reason for going on this ship, I am wanting to take my sons/d-i-l's to St. Lucia, and when checking the different cruise lines, this ship is the ONLY one that is doing it now, or next year.
  13. Which deck are the enclosed balconies on the Explorer?
  14. OK folks, today the chart is back in business! I have a friend on AD that will let me know who the master was. Please post your info as you return to the sea! 15. Hello, I was told in the DL on the Explorer by a waiter from one of the specialty restaurants it didn't matter. If you pressed the 'Decaf' button then the machine would decaffeinate the beans. (CC doesn't have an emoji of someone holding their head in their hands.) Regards, Cublet
  16. Explorer of the Seas just arrived a few minutes ago. There were a couple Carnival ships here in the past few days and Adventure of the Seas is expected tomorrow, all getting vaccines for the crew.
  17. Well, actually, no. We had cruises in August, September and October booked on the Explorer (also out of Galveston) and on the 9/19 Liberty sailing. Hubby and I both received emails stating that 2 of our Explorer cruises will be moved to the Independence after Sept. 27 (one of the cruises started on that date.) Our 2 other cruises on the Explorer, on Aug. 30 and Sept. 3, will not be moved. Both are casino cruises, one being a discounted (not comped) was lifted-and-shifted to September 2022, and the other (comped) was replaced by a new cruise offer. I also received an email stating that the Li
  18. The Adventure of the Seas is happy to be working again. Too many of her relatives and friends are still out of work. Sitting. Waiting to serve their customers again. The Oasis, Odyssey, Liberty, Allure, Brilliance, and Explorer are a few of the ships in the photo anchored off shore.
  19. Original cruise 10/6 Explorer now on Independence. I did have a freak out moment I just happened to login and it said the cruise on explorer was cancelled and then 2 days later we were moved to the Independence. They moved us without issue to new cabin is pretty much in the same location. But the amount they say we owe is not correct. We haven't received any kind of notification from Royal that the cruise was even changing to the Independence. My Daughter in law and son are on the same cruise and their amount due is incorrect also. She was told they have until 6/16 to get every
  20. The cups are coded to expire on a specific day . On explorer they had to replace everyone’s cups twice on a 24 day Sydney to Seattle cruise as they expired after 2 weeks . I also took a b2b on Freedom where the cup was coded for 2 weeks even though it was only supposed to be good for one week. and did work on the second cruise. The machine will tell you what day it expires when you use the machine
  21. They already transferred my October Explorer midship (hump) cabin to the most forward JS on deck 9 on Indy. I don’t want to sail that far forward. Had to wait for TA to open, then after 3 hours for wonderful TA waiting to talk to Resolutions (and disconnected twice), Royal said, “We gave you same category but not in same area, and there is no where to move you now.” To make it worse, Royal opened the short sailings up for booking before they moved all the Explorer passengers. What incompetence. . Log in to Royal website and see if you have already been moved over. ( On the App,
  22. We are currently booked on the Explorer out of San Juan for Oct 31 and the Independence out of Orlando for 12/20 so apparently they are doing a lot of shuffling.
  23. We were on Explorer in October 2019 and visited the CL as a D+. The lounge was never full during the 7 night cruise. Some CLs have been moved and extra cabins put in where the CL was and a new SL is sited elsewhere usually deck 14 next to the VCL.
  24. Adventure OTS - Clo O'Connor July 6 for 2 months. Then who? Allure OTS - Jimmy Rhodes March 11 for 4 months, then Mitch Merucciis scheduled to return August 12 for 2 months. Anthem OTS - Dennis Charles May 12 until September 6, then Chris Brown starts September 6 for 4 months. Brilliance OTS - Mike Szwajkowski July 3 (for 2 or 4 months?) Empress OTS - WHO is the current CD? Enchantment OTS - Bobby Broughton April 6 until early-September. Then who? Explorer OTS - Topi Ylönen returns June 8 until July 27. Then who? (Graham Seymour may return as regular CD again for the rest of 2018,
  25. A change of ships wouldn't cause us to lose our booking. We've been booked on a change of ships (Freedom to Explorer) and it certainly didn't...same category...similar location and the price point went down.
