  1. Anyone have any copies or links of current Solstice Australia/NZ dailes? Thanks!!!
  2. We're looking at Alaskan cruises in June 2020. We went to Alaska in 2015 on the Solstice and loved it. This time we are looking at both the Solstice and the Eclipse. Solstice leaves Seattle while the Eclipse leaves Vancouver. Itinerary's are the same except the Solstice goes to Skagway, and the Eclipse goes to Icy Strait Point. The price is almost the same, except Seattle is a little more in port fees. We've never been to Vancouver and it looks like it's beautiful. We've never been to Icy Strait Point, but it looks like there is not much there. We've been to Seattle, and there is a lot more there for us to see. We rode the train in Skagway last time, not sure if we would do it again. Hotels are expensive in both cities and it looks like airfare to Vancouver would be a little more expensive. Give me your thoughts and help us decide. Picture is from our 2015 trip

  4. We are on a b2b cruise 1/14-2/7. We have 2 different cabins on deck 7. I have heard they can move you, some say you need to pack up, others say no. I have no clue. I am sue Hong to find the same cabin since there is time. What would we have to do for packing up? The cruise ends in Sydney, they sails again onto New Zealand.
  5. Does anyone know whether a laptop can be connected to a state room TV with HDMI cable on Celebrity Solstice? Just wondering if we can view photos or watch movies that have been downloaded pre-departure. Thanks.
  6. Organising some restaurants for our trip on the solstice. Definitely doing murano and Tuscan grill. We both love Asian food, is silk harvest worth doing or is it only say so. Cheers bob:)
  7. Just curious about a little 4 night cruise in Australia that sails Sydney to Melbourne and back . Wondering if the Casino will be open for the 2 sea days as I assume we dont hit international waters ? . We have OBC which we usually use in the casino - if not then we would spend in the restaurants , upgrade the bev package onboard etc. Any information gratefully appreciated.
  8. Does anyone know if the balcony divider can be opened on deck 6 for balconies on Solstice that are 2 slant balconies? TIA
  9. Best I can tell the Celebrity Solstice still doesn't have a mobile app (at least for Android). Am I missing something?
  10. Can you use cash to play to play the pokies/slots in the Celebrity Solstice casino?
  11. Planning on booking Aust/NZ with B2B of Pacific Islands. Does anybody have any info on port vs starboard particularly for views?
  12. Considering a cruise on the Equinox....and choosing a cabin around the third of the ship near the stern on decks 6, 7, 8. If my photo was attached to this post, I refer to the area between the port and starboard cabins. For instance, between 7295 and 7344. Anyone know what's there? I am trying to avoid noise, music, etc for our cabin, which is why I avoid cabins near an atrium, a club and elevators. Thanks ya'll! Doug
  13. Looking for advice re Internet packages for Aus cruises this season please. For anyone who is traveling now or has done so this season what is available for Internet usuage once onbord? i see the unlimited packages available for pre purchase but wonder what is available once onboard. The unlimited packages are extremely pricey so just thinking there may be smaller ones once onboard. Also what is the service like? Fast or slow & does it drop out at all? any information greatly appreciated.
  14. I have a question about the Library on the Solstice class ships. The Library is on decks 10 and 11. Is there a staircase within the Library to get from one deck to the other while in the Library, or is it necessary to leave the Library and use the aft stairs/elevator to get from one deck of the library to the other? I was on the Solstice a few years ago, and do not remember seeing a staircase in the Library. I will be on the Equinox in June of 2019. Thanks.
  15. Hi. My family and I are currently aboard Celebrity Solstice doing a 12 night Great Barrier Reef itinerary out of Sydney. The ship returns to Sydney on Sun Jan 14. If anyone has questions for me, just ask--esp from those of you that are planning on doing this infrequent itinerary in the future. So far the cruise is going well. David
  16. We are booked on Celebrity Solstice this Dec to NZ. My sister's son will be 19yrs old. He is 6 foot 4 inches tall. They have a balcony cabin with a sofa bed. Will he fit on it?! I cannot find the length of the sofa bed listed anywhere. What are his options if he doesn't fit?? Thank you for any assistance.
  17. Anyone currently on Solstice can you tell me the name of the CC Host/ess for Feb and March 2019? Thanks
  18. Hi My mother is cruising on Celebrity for the first time with some friends later this year. She is diamond on Royal Caribbean and I have joined her up online to the Captain's Club on Celebrity. Their website has her cruise listed and her tier as 'preview'. Her account also shows her Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor Number. I have a couple of questions to make sure she gets her benefits: do we need to do anything else to get her recognised as elite on Celebrity or will it be automatic? she has a cabin mate (a friend who lives in USA so definitely not at the same address as my mother who lives in Australia) who does not (to my knowledge) have status on Celebrity. Will her cabin mate also be invited to events such as the tour of the backstage theatre and the nightly cocktail party or will it just be my mother who is allowed to go. Thank you for any advice
  19. Hello all, there will be a Mah Jong tournament on this cruise. Must be registered with the tournament organizers. Starting the roll call.
  20. Hi, firstly if I should only post this in the Alaska board, let me know and I'll delete this. Here's my question - we're taking the Celebrity Solstice RT Seattle cruise departing June 28, 2019. The day we cruise Endicott Arm we are there in the morning and then have port in Juneau from 1:30 to 10 PM the same day. In reading up on this I was interested in taking the excursion that leaves from the ship (around 7:30 or 8 AM) while you're approaching Endicott Arm and gets you closer to the glaciers in Endicott Arm before rejoining the ship in Juneau (shortly after the regular docking time). I thought this was the excursion titled "Endicott Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer Excursion", however when I went to sign up for this excursion it showed as starting at 1:30 PM (the same time we dock in Juneau). I called Celebrity and the rep I spoke to said this excursion does indeed start at 1:30, which would mean it would take almost our whole time in Juneau since it's listed as a 5 hour excursion. Does anyone know for certain, or have personal experience if this particular excursion leaves from the ship in the morning when you're already in Endicott Arm or if you get to Juneau and then this excursion turns around and goes back to Endicott Arm and then back to Juneau? Thanks for any insight!
  21. Where can you get hot chocolate on the Solstice? Does the Classic Beverage include the specialty coffees and hot chocolate?
  22. HI Fellow celeb cruisers. Going on the solstice once again in a couple of months time to New Zealand. Friends have just disembarked a couple of days ago and have told us the specialty restaurants have gone up in price significantly. For eg morano was $85,00 aud dollars pp. Has anyone else noticed huge increases pricings or could this increase be because it was a xmas cruise?????
  23. Hi folks, I am new to Celebrity and love my pIzza. I have cruised on Holland America 6 times and loved the pizza on those ships that have it made to ordered and greatly disliked that which is made and placed on trays in the buffet. Does the Solstice have made to order pizza or do I need to look for something else?
  24. Agincourt Reef from the air located 40 miles northeast of Port Douglas. Jan 9 2018 I have been very busy with a new job and so it took me some time to get this review started. For the same reason, going forward there could be a couple of days between posts. However I wanted to get this out before the next Great Barrier Reef (GBR) cruise starts on Mar 30. My family of 4 (2 parents + 2 adult kids) took this round trip cruise out of Sydney last month. We spent 3 nights in Sydney before the cruise (ringing in 2018) and then did the 12 night GBR itinerary. After the cruise was over we flew back to our home in Chicago. In doing research for this cruise, it was very difficult to find much information on it because Celebrity only does this itinerary 1-3 times a year (in 10, 11, and 12 night varieties). Therefore I wanted to provide as much information to those people who are booking this wonderful cruise. So I started by sharing information while on board by posting a "Live GBR" thread. It was mainly geared towards answering questions from this board and providing cruise highlights. This thread will be picture heavy since each one is worth a thousand words as they say. I will be emphasizing our time in Sydney, our shore excursions (in particular our scuba/snorkeling time), our FV cabin, and information that I just couldn't figure out like the tendering process, how much time things took, what day certain events occurred, etc. You will find little information about the entertainment, the bars, the pool, and the specialty restaurants. Here is my family's cruising profile: This was our 12th Celebrity cruise as a family starting back in 1996 (when our youngest was only 7 months old). My wife and I promised our kids a college education and Elite status on Celebrity by the time they became adults. For the last few years we have been taking extended cruises around January and we have gone scuba diving on every one of them. Our last cruise was a 15 night South American trip aboard Infinity over the holidays in Dec 2016. This was our 1st time on Solstice, but not on S-class. We have been in an S-class FV cabins 3 times prior (all on Eclipse) This our first time to Australia except for my wife who has been to Melbourne many years ago on business. David, Marcia, Katie, and Chris
