  1. Hi- one last question (hopefully) before we cruise on Solstice 30 March. Toiletries - what do Celebrity supply in the way of toiletries in your stateroom on board Solstice? I would assume they supply Soap / body wash, Shampoo and conditioner, but do they supply body lotion / cream? and does the room steward / attendant 'top them up' each day? just need to work out if we need to bring our own shampoo or body lotion...etc... We're in a just a standard veranda stateroom if that makes a difference thanks in advance :D
  2. hi We are due to sail on the Solstice on 28/2/19 and wondered if anyone knew whether the EPL was shown onboard either in the bars or in your stateroom? Many thanks :)
  3. Comments please on cabins facing back on aft of solstice ships? Last minute cruise on Reflection and choices limited. Regular concierge cabin with veranda facing port or starboard. OR a back one. Have done a corner aft sky suite and loved it but suites sold out.
  4. I like 2 cups of coffee first thing in the morning while getting ready for the day. This will be my first time on Celebrity (Solstice).... Going to New Zealand in November. I am spoiled with Viking in room coffee machine. What do you all suggest? I do like my coffee STRONG. Thanks for your help. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  5. I have enjoyed Brent Nixon's lectures, as well as his wife Miss Amanda, on a previous Alaska sailing on the Solstice and I'm wondering if they stay on the ship when it goes to NZ/Aus in the winter? We're looking to do a cruise down under next winter and am hoping they're onboard to give talks.
  6. is there a link where the specialty dining menus are posted? Considering purchasing the package but want to know if there is a steakhouse style restaurant on board. Sample menus seem to be very grand for a meat and potatoes type of person. Thoughts anyone?
  7. :DWe have been assigned Stateroom 1510 on the Solstice. We have read past reviews regarding noise issues and were curious if Celebrity has taken any recent actions to address the issues. Does anyone have any recent experience with this stateroom? Thanks for the input .
  8. I have cruised a bit on 5 different lines over the years but this will be my first time on Celebrity. I am heading to the Solstice in New Zealand. I am looking for advice and secret suggestions to get the best out of my experience. Any input is appreciated. Cheers! Sent from my iPad using Forums
  9. Decision made - Celebrity it is for our New Zealand cruise and looking at cabin 9155. Quite close to the elevators so looking for anyone who can give me some advice so that we can proceed to booking. Excited!!!! Kat
  10. I’m going to do my best at a trip report to capture our cruise to Alaska on the Solstice. If you’re wondering about the title, we were originally booked on the Eclipse sailing to the British Isles during the Open. My husband is an avid golfer, me not so much, but I love my husband, and so we were booked. We’ve cruised a fair amount, and always on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. I’m the planner, and my husband is perfectly happy with that. I started researching golf excursions, attending the British Open, and realized that my husband would be happier (and would get more golf in)taking a land based trip to Scotland. His request? Scratch the Eclipse, and switch to a cruise to Alaska. Alaska? I love sun, warmth, beaches, sand...but, I love my husband, so Alaska on the Solstice was booked. Enter my dear mother, who heard me talking about a cruise to Alaska. “Can I go?”, she asked. What could I possibly say to the almost 85 year old woman who had raised me and my six siblings? “My mom is coming with us to Alaska”, I told my husband. So, a cruise to the British Isles filled with golf became a cruise to Alaska with his almost 85 year old mother in law. Traveling in the same cabin. My husband loves me (Rachel Maddow concurs, but that’s a story for another day). A few things about my mom- yes, she raised 7 kids, yes, she is almost 85, and will be celebrating her birthday on the cruise. We lost my dad almost 2 years ago, and Alaska was on their list of places to visit next. She is also not your typical almost 85 year old: Next up, planning, more planning, and packing lists Sent from my iPad using Forums
  11. If anybody is interested, I have posted an extensive review of the August 24 Solstice sailing from Seattle to Alaska and return.
  12. All...we have our first Solstice Cruise lined up for this May to Alaska. We have sailed Carnival, NCL and Royal Carib. Have just a couple of questions, if you would indulge me ... 1. Can we get regular. (Free) tea at the Cafe Bacio ? I understand specialty coffees and teas are $$. 2. What toiletries are provided in the bathrooms ? We have a veranda 2B. 3. What is the breakfast buffet In the Solarium like ? Worth a visit ? 4. We are thinking of room service breakfast during our visit in Tracy Fjord. Will it arrive in timely fashion? Hot ? 5.Will the MDR be open on embarkation day for lunch ? Thanks in advance. I’m sure we will come up with other questions as the trip closes in.
  13. Hi We are looking at balcony cabins on Solstice and wondered if anyone has any advice on which number would be a good choice please. Only second cruise so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Kat

  17. hello! hubby and I are honeymooning on Celebrity Solstice June 2018. The last cruise we booked we were able to book our show entertainments in the cruise planner. Cannot seem to figure out how to do that for Solstice. Can anyone provide insight on whether you pre book for entertainment? Also, what are people wearing around the ship? For even diners and attending the night time bar scene? Lastly 2 formal nights on this cruise? Lastly- we are looking at booking excursions. Has anyone waited to book while on the ship and gotten a discounted rate? thanks everyone!
  18. The oft played rerun of the Solstice in Australia will be on Smithsonian Channel, 4:A.M Thursday. Good hours long show. Actually on right now but over in a few minutes. Smithsonian is channel 570 on Direct TV
  19. Just wondering whether the January cruises from Australia to NZ are likely to be over run with children, as the dates fall within the Australian summer school holidays. Wondered whether anyone has been on these cruises at this time of year, and can comment on their experience?
  20. We are actively planning our first Celebrity trip, Solstice to Alaska next spring. I am very interested in participating in the Hot Glass experience. Does this fill up quickly ? Is it offered only on sea days ? Can I pre-register somewhere on the site beforehand ? Is it worth the $$$? Thanks in advance!
  21. Does Solstice have the Lawn Garden Grill and is it included in the Specialty Dining Packages? I haven't read many good comments about Silk Harvest and wanted to ask if there is anyone who recommends it and what they ordered?
  22. ON the Solstice August 17 in a Concierge Cabin and had some questions. What is a good time to arrive? Will be flying in the night before and don't want to get there so early there is a long line but so late to be rushed? Anyone in a Concierge Cabin remembers what was served for the debarkation lunch and also were you able to hot hotr dishes for in-room breakfast? Does anyone have pictures of the menus? Were discounts offered for any of the specialty restaurants during the cruise? DId anyone do the cruise tour to Butchart Gardens in Victoia and do you think you had enough time? What other activities did people do in Victoria? Has anyone used the Seattle Luggage service for Southwest Airlines? When did you get the form or did you need to ask. Was there a time frame the flight had to leave during? I have a 4:45 PM flight. What time do they pick up the luggage? Favorite Meal/Ship Activity/Excursion? Thnaks
