  1. DH and I just got back from a very short 3 day cruise to the Bahamas on Victory. I thought I would share a quick few thoughts. We had FTTF and were in our cabin, #7416, by 11am. It had one of those "bowling alley" balconies. The weather was perfect, food was good and the service fabulous. We were randomly selected for a complimentary Galley tour and Tasting. It was very interesting. We went to several of the Comedy shows. This is the second cruise we have seen the Comedian Manny Oliveira. He is completely inappropriate and we LOVE his shows! We spent some time in the casino and I had fun. I didn't hit any jackpots but I came home with some of the my gambling funds. This was the first time we had the Cheers package and I found it convenient. I think we came close to breaking even (each of us had 5-7 drinks a day, many were $10) But I probably won't buy it again. I'm too old to drinking that much! 😁 Next cruise we'll buy liquor for our cabin from the fun shop, carry on soda and wine. The only thing that really bothered me was the public restrooms. It didn't matter which one I used, there was usually only one or two sinks working. Makes it hard for passengers to wash their hands to prevent illness. Debarkation was smooth. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them! Teri
  2. Maybe this is a silly question but I asked this on the Florida Departure Board but have no response yet. So I'll try here. How do I know which terminal at Port of Miami Carnival Victory will be docked at? I don't see anything on my boarding pass that indicates a specific terminal. Is there just one main Carnival building? Do I just tell the taxi or uber driver I'm sailing on Carnival and they all know where to take me? I sail in 2 days. Thanks!
  3. I'll be boarding Carnival Victory this Friday, Yay! Anyone recently back from the 3 day itinerary? I would love to hear your thoughts.
  4. I can't find much help on destination page... So on the 4 day Cozumel Plus, the ports of call key west and Cozumel have weird times. KW is 7:30-1:30. Has anyone had this and what did you do? I've been there several times, but will be going with a newbie next time. Any suggestions? Butterfly conservatory doable? thanks....
  5. Where exactly is the Coffee Shop on Carnival Victory? I don't see it on the Deck Plans. I love my coffee in the morning and since I have the Cheers package, I'm looking forward to my morning caffeine fix!
  6. Hi All! I'm trying to plan a cruise involving my sister in law, who has never been on a cruise before. I was looking at the Key West/Cozumel itinerary on the Victory since that was the exact itinerary I sailed on the Imagination back in 2009 that introduced me to cruising (long enough to give you a taste of what a cruise is all about, but short enough that if you hate cruising you'll be off the boat after four days). I'm hoping this itinerary works the same magic that it worked on us and gets her hooked on cruising too! I haven't been on Carnival since that 2009 trip, and was wondering if anyone had thoughts on the Victory (maybe as it compares to a Fantasy-class ship since that's my only point of reference) or anything else you think I should take into account when planning this? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
  7. Where is the punchliner located on Carnival Victory?
  8. Any recent Carnival Victory experiences here on the boards? It's been almost 5 years since we've been on a cruise (twin boys will do that to ya) & we just want to grab a balcony on a quick cruise. I've seen a mixed bag on reviews. Thanks in advance! *BTW, I did try to search the forums for Victory topics, buts it's been a while & I couldn't dig anything up.
  9. Has anyone recently sailed on the Victory and know who are the current bartenders at the Alchemy?
  10. Just wondering where you find the Milk Shakes on Carnival Victory? Thanks!
  11. Has anyone had or been to a wedding on the carnival victory? I am getting married on embarkation day in October. I would love some advice.
  12. Anyone know if the Victory has USB ports for charging phones or bringing a mini USB plug in fan?
  13. I searched and could not find any Victory Fun Times copies for the 4 day itinerary (Key West and Cozumel). Anybody have those or a link?
  14. We’re cruising in June. I cruised on the Sunshine after its renovation and name change, but was new to Carnival and so had no comparison. I know they will be adding some restaurants. I assume they will be upgrading the staterooms. Do they also upgrade the stateroom bathrooms? How about the pool areas? The itinerary and the fact that we can drive to NYC for boarding were why we booked- the ship was the 3rd. I’m only curious about how much was actually renovated on previous ships.
  15. DH and I have purchased Cheers for our 11/4 Victory cruise. Every time I purchase a drink package, I use the opportunity to try different types of drinks. I spent one cruise trying all things "gin" to see if I could learn to appreciate gin. On this cruise I would like to focus on hot adult drinks. Coffee, chocolate, etc. So, where are those types of drinks offered on the ship? What are your suggestions on things to try?
  16. Anyone know who the Piano Player will be on the Victory October 7 or is it too early thanks Keith
  17. We are going to buy the internet package for each of us on our 11/4 Victory sailing. We thought about using the Hub App for chatting, but can use FB Messenger if the internet plan allows. So, here is the question: I will sometimes use my internet plan on my tablet (Windows). So, I will log my phone off of the plan and log in with the tablet. Will the Hub app on my phone be able to use the "free" wi-fi when I log off of the paid plan? To be clear, while I am using the tablet with my internet plan, will my phone still be able to receive chat messages via the Hub app? Two other questions: -- If each of us have the internet plan, will we still have to pay for the chat feature on the Hub app? --Will FB Messenger work with the premium internet plan? If so, then we can just use that. FB Messenger has a Windows app so I will see the messages when I am on the tablet.
  18. Hi All! We just got home off the Victory and had a great sailing. Just wanted to point out some changes I noticed. I'm in no way complaining, just providing some info: 1. We did not get a coupon for our free drink for being Gold. We did get the paper welcoming us with the pin and our water and listing our benefits, but the usual coupon was not on the bottom. I thought maybe they had streamlined the process and would give a credit to our S&S or maybe give it the last day, but no. Don't know if this was a fluke or pilot for some VIFP changes, but just saying. 2. I can confirm that there is now a 3rd green spot "B" on the roulette wheel. I had seen a thread a few weeks back asking. We were on the Magic in March and this was definitely not there, so maybe they're rolling it out slowly. 3. Elegant night didn't have lobster or filet as an option. Mind you this was a 3 day cruise and we don't usually eat in the dining room so this may just be news to me. I happened to check the menu and notice - I thought one of these was offered at elegant night. 4. Disembarkation process has changed slightly. Our CD really stressed people check out the disembark show to get the details. Basically they don't deliver your luggage tags to your room anymore. You have to go pick them up and select either early or late disembark. Our debark was a nightmare. I don't think it was the new/old process, just people in general going to the lobby at whatever time instead of when called. I've noticed the past few times this has gotten progressively worse. Not sure what Carnival can do to improve that.
  19. Taking the grandchildren on this cruise next week. We plan on eating in the Lido buffet most of the time, but I would like to go to the MDR at least once. Any suggestions as to which night? The first day may be a problem, because we want to them to at least try out the kid's clubs. Key west day might be good, since we'll be on the ship most of the day. Then we stop in Cozumel and I think we may eat dinner in town. That leaves the Sea Day. We're definitely letting the kids run the show on this trip; buffet, burgers, club vs no club etc. Anyone have the menus?
  20. Wonder why a tug is attached to Victory's stern in Miami this morning? Does anybody know? Cheers D
  21. I contacted Carnival and they were not able to send a sample of the fun times and was hoping someone could answer and maybe share the fun times. Is there a white or red party onboard? I am sailing on Monday 6/10/19 to Key West and Cozumel. If anyone can share the Fun Times i would greatly appreciate it. I have not sailed Carnival since 2011 Thank you!
  22. We are currently booked on Victory in cabin #7416. It's one of those long aft balcony types and looks like an odd shaped cabin. This morning cabin #6424 became available. This also has a long balcony but the cabin appears to be just a regular rectangle. Any thoughts about differences between the cabins would be appreciated. Such as, is 7416 more cramped? Does the layout feel awkward moving around inside, ect.? I haven't been able to find very good pics of the inside of #7416. Thanks in advance for any insight!
  23. Good morning, All: Sailing on the Victory soon, and I would like to get flowers and them in the ocean in honor of my friend, my cruise buddy, that recently passed away. Does Victory have a flower shop on board. If not, I have two options of purchasing beforehand and having delivered to the room or purchasing then in Cozumel. Thanks in advance.
  24. Anyone have comments on the new Victory Itinerary? As of now they no longer overnight in Nassau. You have the sea day on Saturday and then a short stay in Nassau on Sunday. A bunch of places were closed due to it being Sunday. The restaurant I always go to was closed, I saw several stores closed. You get there at 8am and have to be back by 4:30pm, no more late nights off the ship.
