  1. fantastic news! My Voyager cruises ex Singapore were of course cancelled, I would much rather sail Spectrum 😁
  2. On some other ships I have seen the family rooms in both interior and ocean view. These hold like 5 or 6 with some of them having bunk beds. An internet search came up with these ship classes: Radiance, Voyager, Freedom, Oasis (as well as Vision of the Seas, Rhapsody of the Seas, and Enchantment of the Seas)

  5. Seems like a lifetime ago nowadays, but I'm sure a lot of people here know the answer. The Mariner would be the obvious and longest timewise Voyager Class ship he had, but what was it the last? I can't remember, but don't think it's the Mariner.

  7. We had a side balcony that we’d hear banging early every morning. We figured out we were right under some door that the crew used in the windjammer. I think this was Voyager class. Afts we don’t hear as much but I’d still take an aft any day for the view. I now bring a sound machine. I like those top decks for easy access to the pool and windjammer so I still book them and use my white noise machine. Just general observations….who knows?
  8. Not a chance. I was on that antique in 2004 and it seemed so dated then with the "new" Voyager class. Grand Lady of the Seas was supposed to be pushed off to Tier 2 lines right before COVID but RCL saved it when Pullmantur went under. She will not be long for this world and RCI isn't going to put a $ into it unless safety related.
  9. Choose Deck 7 rather than Deck 6. Since Deck 6 is on the same level as the long empty deck to the actual back of the ship, it has the "worst" views of all the aft cabins. Also, have you sailed in any aft cabins on a Voyager or Freedom class ship?

  11. Radiance class JS all have a walk-in closet. Same for Voyager class. Same for Freedom class. Vision class - only a few select JS have a walk-in closet and no, I don't know which cabin numbers.
  12. Hello, Yep, that's it exactly. So is the Anthem an exception to the walk-in-closet norm for a JS? I've had them on Voyager and Freedom class ships. Regards, Cublet
  13. Regardless of the price, Wonder just doesn't have as many suites. Bottom line, cased closed. Now I will share that we got 'upgraded' from VP to GS when Adventure became Jewel. Then it went back to Voyager and I kept the GS. Personally, I'd prefer the VP, and they are indeed cheaper than a VP.
  14. So far my favorite ship was Rhapsody. It was our first cruise out of Galveston and we got to know Derek Lewis in the Schooner Bar, worth the cruise just for his entertainment. Everywhere we were we had wonderful sea views. I miss that on larger ships even with a balcony cabin. I always wanted to do a Radiance cruise but so far never got the chance. Jack loves the RP so for him Voyager and Liberty are his cup of tea. Smallest ship for us was Majesty, largest Liberty. Not sure how I will feel on The Oasis on Friend's of Bella's cruise. Everyone seems to love it yet so far I seem to prefer a smaller ship. RP is great for people watching but for me I prefer people watching with the sea in the background.

  16. We have cabin 8618 booked on Voyager and I want to find out what the bed placement is in this particular cabin. I know years ago someone posted a way to tell but I can't remember what it is and if it applies to all ships. Thanks.

  18. We hope that you and your clients continue to remain healthy and safe. As you know, the current environment has been, and still is, quite fluid. Due to ongoing uncertainty with the re-opening of international borders, as well as subsequent changes to our global return to service scope, we’ve made a few adjustments to our upcoming itinerary offerings that we want to make you aware of. Quantum of the Seas®: Originally scheduled to set sail from Brisbane, Australia beginning October 30, 2021, the successes seen from her current deployment offerings have prompted the decision to keep Quantum in Singapore for an extended season. Voyager of the Seas®: Originally scheduled to sail from Beijing (Tianjin), China beginning in August 2021 and Singapore as of November 2021, the decision has been made to suspend Voyager’s sailings through March 2022. Ovation of the Seas®: Originally scheduled to reposition to Australia beginning September 2021, the decision has been made to keep Ovation in Alaska for a bit longer, adding 4 NEW sailings to the tail-end of her 2021 season. Serenade of the Seas®: As future itinerary planning continues, the decision has been made to cancel Serenade of the Seas’ repositioning sailings departing September 26 and October 7, 2021.
  19. We have seen them in the Windjammer pre-shutdown on both Freedom and Voyager class ships. Radiance and Vison class ships have them at their Park Cafes in the Solarium.
  20. Most likely, 30+ yrs doubt ever been on Royal Ship didnt have them, Sovereign, Vision, Voyager, Radiance Classes
  21. For anyone who has stayed in this cabin, I'm just wondering if you liked it and what were the pros and cons. Thanks.
  22. As the one who does the driving, count me in with those opting for the shorter drive. You'll feel that way too if you're the one driving home afterwards. The only time I faced a similar decision, the ship choices were a lot more different (Mariner vs. Serenade) as well as different itineraries (NoLA offered a Florida Keys, Bahamas and Coco Cay cruise, not available from Galveston), I'd never been to New Orleans before and really wanted to check it out. Longer drive was worth it there. Because having been on Mariner (and Voyager and Navigator) and not Freedom but her two siblings I always got the impression the Freedom-class ships simply felt like a 20% bigger Voyager class - not that much more 'stuff' but the stuff was that much further apart. Enjoy your trip - regardless of your ship.
  23. brillohead's assumption is a common one, but John is correct. Freedom class - originally named Ultra-Voyager class - is merely lengthened. That permitted more things in the Royal Promenade, for instance, but the aft cabins / area of all 8 ships are identical. (ignoring the whole Presidential Suite thing). For example, 1688 is EXACTLY like 1700. (voyager class vs freedom class)
  24. Before they changed Wonder, it looked like it was going to be Spectrum because that was the only ship with no deployment when Singapore was the only port. Now, who knows though... though would be really nice to get a new ship that isn't Quantum or Voyager.
  25. One correction for Radiance: Sovereign Class (Sovereign and Monarch of the Seas Captain Tor Stangeland) Vision Class (Rhapsody of the Seas Captain Arnulf Remo) Radiance Class (Radiance Captain Kent Ringborn, Brilliance Captain Nikolas Antalis, Serenade Captain Stig Nilsen, Jewel Captain James MacDonald) Voyager Class (Voyager Captain Svein Petersen, Explorer Captain Olav Nyseter, Adventure Captain Arnulf Remo, Navigator Captain Leif Otto Bang and Mariner Captain Johnny Faevelen). Freedom Class (Freedom Captain Bill Wright / Captain Erik Tengelsen, Liberty Captain Hernan Zini, Independence Captain Teo Strazicic) Oasis Class (Oasis Captain Bill Wright / Captain Trym Selvag), Allure Captain Hernan Zini, Harmony Captain Gus Anderson, Symphony Captain Rob Hempstead, Wonder Captain Charles Teige) Quantum Class (Quantum Captain Shrecko Ban, Anthem Captain Claus Andersen, Ovation Captain Henrik Loy, Spectrum Captain Charles Teige, Odyssey Captain Per Kristophersen)
