  1. If anyone has stayed in the RS on EDGE, I am wondering here about balcony access. Have seen several videos where they access the balcony from the bedroom, but cannot tell if you can also access from the living room? It looks like there is a slider from there, but it may just also be a floor to ceiling window. Either way I am guessing it would be the same on APEX. THX!
  2. I know ships are same class and similar - does the APEX also have a butterfly sculpture at end of main pool like Edge - or something different?
  3. Does anybody know why APEX has been docked in Port Everglades for the past few days?
  4. We will be using the four main restaurants on our Apex cruise in October 2021. I have been trying to find the capacity of each (normal capacity, not trying to figure out any COVID spacing). Are they all the same size? From reading my roll call it seems that people are already making reservations in these (not speciality) restaurants a year in advance! Our last four cruises have been on small ships with true open dining and our previous Celebrity cruises were in Blu so I'm trying to figure out this different system for our "open" dining on Apex. Thanks in advance for replies.
  5. Hope this hasn’t already been posted. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Stay safe everyone!
  6. Was browsing a few web cams and saw a tweet saying the Apex will arrive at 9:00.... I’ll be watching. https://www.ftlauderdalewebcam.com
  7. Drove down to the neighborhood opposite where she is now docked in Fort Lauderdale. Thrilling to know she is at her home port, even if it’s just a few days. Here a couple of unedited photos I took on my iPhone. Mark
  8. If cruising will resume by May 2021...what would you do? Option 1 - May 1 - 15 Apex TA combined with B2B, May 15-27 Spain, Turkey & Greek Isles. I have a S3 sky suite booked for the duration of this cruise. The ports look amazing! Option 2 - Jan 15 - 29 B2B on Summit with various Caribbean ports of call. For this I went all out and have the PH suite, a first for me and probably the last, LOL. I don't think I will be able to do both, so I wanted to see if you that have done similar have a recommendation. I booked the TA because of the number of sea
  9. According to cruisemapper Apex has joined the Edge in the Bahamas.
  10. Looks like Apex is on the move again - this time to Ponta Delgada....I wish Celebrity would make an announcement of whether or not Apex is coming to the US anytime soon.
  11. Hi all: I recently booked a 5 night Infinity cruise but still wrestling with possibly changing to a 7 night Apex, thought I would get the opinions of CruiseCritic! Here is the info: 5 Night Western Caribbean - Infinity - Aquaclass A2 7 Night Western Caribbean - Apex - Infinite Veranda E4/E3 - +$500 Some other notes: Utilizing FCC, so pretty much paid off the 5 night Western Not too bothered about the ports, we have done Western Caribbean to tears Yes we could do another itinerary but the dates "work for now" We have sailed the I
  12. Hoping this thread will be a continuing one that allows us to share tidbits and info about APEX. We are booked on her for a short cruise in 2022, and look forward to experiencing her first hand.( first time in a suite). Seems there will be lots of exciting features..some are like EDGE but also new changes... a bigger gym, new bar overlooking the Grand Plaza, new shows, new menu for EDEN restaurant.... and all new art! This Cruise Critic article ( see link) is an enterainment overview: https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/entertainment/
  13. Okay, so I'm booked in 10188...First time I will ever be on an Edge/Apex ship... When I look at the published deck plans, the cabins are not shown as rectangular, rather they have a jag in or jag out in the center of the room... Is that an indication of alternating bed location? For, example, does the jog outward in the middle of 10188 mean that the bed is placed there and the sitting area is adjacent to the "balcony"....and that, in 10186 next door, the bed is located next to the balcony?

Celebrity Apex finally leaves Chantiers de l'Atlantique Michèle Valandina | Aug 24, 2020 Built in Saint-Nazaire and handed over to Celebrity Cruises in March, Celebrity Apex finally left Chantiers de l'Atlantique Sunday morning. The ship had remained at the yard's Penhoet wharf due to the coronavirus pandemic, which affected more than 200 crew members. 17. What are the preferred cabins for a balcony cabin? I have a C3 booked but now have discovered it is an Edge Balcony, which I do not want. Thanks !
  18. I could swear I saw a photo of the resort deck of The Apex and the sculpture that is a set of wings on The Edge was a heart instead -- but now I cannot find that photo. Anyone else have it or a link to it? I'm beginning to doubt my memory!
  19. On June 26th we canceled our Apex Nov 14th cruise because we felt this will never sail. Miami is such a hot spot for Covid we can't imagine ships sailing out of there and so we pulled the plug. We just got our deposit July 4th. It only took a week! Amazing....We feel sad as we loved Edge and was looking forward to Apex but not until it's safer. Cruise on ......
  20. This is purely speculation on my part after our stint at the Martini Bar this afternoon and while waiting for the Chef to prepare dinner, I wish.😁 With cruising being up in the air and crews being scattered all over the seas, would it make sense to keep Apex in France until next year when cruising would hopefully resume from Europe instead of deadheading her to FLL for a shortened Caribbean season with what is likely an overcapacity of ships? Anyone see the logic, or failed logic, in this?
  21. I can’t find when Apex came out?
  22. What is the consensus on these ships? Reading the reviews, some love them but it seems experienced X cruisers are disappointed. Our last X cruise was a TA on Silhouette in 2018 which we loved. Our Feb/2020 on Symphony of the Seas was cancelled d/t illness. Hubby had seen a video on Symphony and had to go on that ship. We are active seniors and as much as we love the quiet sophistication of Celebrity, we do like the active vibe you find on Royal. The videos of Edge look tempting but the Infinite Veranda is not for us. It seems that all the best parts of the ship are reserved for
  23. Way ahead I know but I am curious to know why 3 out of 4 dining rooms are unavailable for our Apex cruise in Nov next year. We are on the Transatlantic and all dining rooms are available for reservations (I have been bored enough during the lockdown to entertain myself making bookings). We are on the following Caribbean cruise and only the Tuscan is showing as available. I’m now wondering if maybe there is a large group or convention on that cruise and the other 3 MDRs are reserved for them. Any way to find out? or am I being pessimistic. Have no desire to cruise on a ship where we don’t have
  24. We always book late reserved main dining rooms and usually try a few specialty restaurants also... We are booked on Apex in September 2021 and have chosen late dining.. however, we want to try all the main dining rooms for the different exclusive menu items.. do we switch to select dining, can we make those reservations in advance or do we have to do it when on board?
  25. Can anyone tell if the bed is by the balcony or the bathroom?
