  1. So much speculation and too many unanswered questions. It looks like the yard is posting that Allure will be repaired and sent on her way without being amped, no work on cabins or interior. RCCL has been selling the Amped ship for some time now and since we are booked on Oct 25, 2020 and TA, much of our expectation is based on the "new" ship. Now that may change dramatically which seems to change the value of the cruise. With all of the uncertainty in the cruise industry now, who is to say Allure will even be in the Med in October. Hopefully this question can generate some accurate information which I believe is in short supply right now. I hope the rumors are all wrong and she will get her full amp refurb!
  2. It looks like the Allure is headed to Southampton, I wonder what the plan is now.
  3. The Allure is out of dry dock, any idea where she goes now? My guess is she stays there until they begin sailing again in the Caribbean. They can use the Allure as an easy way to bring the crew back to the US and keep them isolated.
  4. Sitting on our balcony in Haiti as we wait for the last of the guests to board, trying to read this book “The Last Train to London” that I just can’t get into, so figured I’d go ahead and start this. The next two days may be less posts since we’re not finished yet, but I do already have some drafted so let’s get this party started! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. This email was just received at 1:00. 3rd email iteration, customers (l&s, stayed with Liberty, cancel, or not) can NOW book back on Allure out of Florida, price-protected. Sorry about formatting while pasting. ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS Dear Guest, Last week, we shared that due to shipyard closures and disruption to supply chain caused by this pandemic, Allure of the Seas’ amplification was being moved to a later date. And, as a result of pier construction delays in the Galveston terminal, Allure of the Seas would no longer sail from Galveston during the Winter 2021 - 2022 deployment. So, we had to move you to a similar itinerary onboard Liberty of the Seas. Well, we have great news to share! We’ve been working tirelessly on confirming Allure’s new itineraries. And if you had your heart set on the ship, and the embarkation port was not the most important factor for you - you’ll be able to book Allure today! We wanted you to be the first to know since your sailing was unfortunately impacted. 😊 If you’ve already moved to the comparable Liberty of the Seas sailing or an alternate 7-night Caribbean sailing and would like to stay, there’s nothing for you to do. If you prefer to move to one of Allure’s new itineraries, call us by July 7, 2020 at 888-281-9344 and we’ll be happy to re-book, even if you cancelled your reservation or if you took advantage of our Lift and Shift offer. If you choose to move to Allure of the Seas, you’ll receive the following: Your original cruise fare paid for Allure of the Seas will be price protected at the original cruise fare rate or reduced to the current cruise fare rate (whichever is lower). This excludes taxes, fees, gratuities, and other non-cruise fare items. If you were already paid in full and your cruise fare rate decreases, we’ll provide you with a refund if there is any difference in pricing. You can expect to receive your refund to your original form of payment 45 days after you submit your refund request. Kindly note, refund times may vary depending on your financial institution. We’ll also waive any non-refundable deposit change fees associated with the move. Please know, if you weren’t previously booked on a holiday sailing (Christmas, New Year’s, and Easter), sailings during that timeframe are excluded from your options. Lastly, if you opted into the Cruise with Confidence 100% Future Cruise Credit prior to this email, you will be able to take advantage of this new offer. Your vacation is important to us and we really look forward to welcoming you onboard! Please call us at 888-281-9344 or contact your Travel Advisor by July 7, 2020 to let us know if you’d like to change your sailing to a new Allure of the Seas itinerary. If we don’t hear from you by July 7, 2020, no action will be taken and you’ll remain booked on the Liberty of the Seas sailing. And remember, you’ll still have the flexibility to cancel through our Cruise with Confidence program up to 2 days before your departure date. Click here to learn about this program. We hope you find another cruise vacation with us. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or looking to explore, relax, and recharge - we have no doubt your time with us will be nothing short of amazing. We look forward to welcoming you onboard. Sincerely, Royal Caribbean International Hopefully all you Star class customers can finally get your neat suites back on Allure!
  6. Sorry if I missed another thread about this. A little disappointed because I booked for the ship, but it is what it is. E-mail received today:
  7. We will be sailing on the Allure in November, and I am wondering how this is going to work, as we are flying in from Toronto, Ontario. Do we need to take in account the isolation period?
  8. We are going on Allure December 6 and I wondered what is the soonest we can make show reservations? Thanks!
  9. Hello folks, On smaller boats just about everyone would dress for formal nights. What about on shops like oasis or allure? Would alot of people still dress formally?
  10. Hello! I am in room 11158 on Allure and would like to know where we will be for Muster Drill. Anyone have an idea? TIA!
  11. Hi all, I'm finding it really easy to find what new things are coming to Allure of the seas with the "amplification", however I'm finding it hard to get information on what is being replaced. Theres mention of laser quest at studio B, surely they're not getting rid of the ice rink for example? Thanks!
  12. I am pretty confident we will make our B2B on Allure in December. Can someone give a quick run down on the shows onboard? Since she is not getting her redo I bet the shows will stay the same. Thanks!
  13. 3,000+ Club January 6, 2008 4,777 posts Madrid/Marbella, Spain / Naples, FL Report post #362 Posted Sunday at 08:54 PM Finally a confirmation. It appears that Allure will be going to Cadiz sometime after May 20th for the needed drydock. I doubt we will get much confirmation soon of what they will be doing, but very happy they are moving forward.
  14. I have a chance at one bedroom aquatheater suite (11330) on the Allure for next August. Price is really good - we already have a junior suite booked on the sailing but very tempted to change to this suite - I have checked out some videos on YouTube and it looks great. But are there any downsides to this room? Or you can tell me how great it is also!!
  15. Hi, would you book Allure or Symphony? We know we would absolutely love Mamma Mia but maybe Symphony has other advantages? Thank you your input!
  16. Has anyone seen confirmation if Allure will still move to Galveston in November 2021? I see sailings are still on the website, but had read that with the delay of construction of the new terminal, they can't accommodate Allure.
  17. I have been following the October 4th sailing of the Allure of the Seas and the booking option is not appearing anymore. Does anyone know if this date has been canceled and why they would cancel just one week? that doesn't seem like enough time to make up for the dry dock work that was canceled.
  18. I'm back 😇 Practically non stop to Barcelona And in the perfect cabin for a lot of sea days Decent location to be quarantined as well😉
  19. I hope everyone enjoys this “normal” cruise question 😁 Contrary to our usual “Cruise budget”, we are considering the Unlimited Dining Package. We are booked on Oasis, Allure, and Symphony in the next year. Prices for the Unlimited Dining Package only vary by $10 per person. Which ship would you choose to splurge on the Unlimited Dining Package? I will appreciate any input from those who have experience with specialty restaurants. Our usual “stingy” (ahem frugal😉) budget does not allow for this splurge, but we decided to try it one time on one of the BIG ships. We are not picky eaters and we have never tried any of the specialty restaurants.
  20. A New York Times article today features a well known Brooklyn bar owner that had sailed on the March 1st Allure transatlantic from Port Everglades to Barcelona. He passed away on April 9th. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/18/nyregion/coronavirus-jjbubbles-joe-joyce.html?algo=top_conversion&fellback=false&imp_id=990166187&imp_id=851791235&action=click&module=trending&pgtype=Article&region=Footer https://www.brooklynpaper.com/frozen-in-time-bay-ridge-bar-owner-joe-joyce-remembered-as-local-legend/
  21. I have just posted my Allure of the Seas Embarkation Day vlog from when we cruised on her for Halloween 2018. I am obviously quite a bit behind on my vlogs, but it's a nice look back at life onboard before the craziness. After embarking in Fort Lauderdale, we had lunch with our group of 9 at the buffet and explored the ship a bit before the muster drill. I would say that buying the BOGO specialty dining package before boarding was my biggest mistake. Has anyone else had issue with it? Since the vlog is from 2018 I am sure lots of things have changed, hopefully the way that deal works being one of them. Royal Caribbean does such a fantastic job with entertainment!
  22. Looking at booking for 2022. We have never traveled with RCL and I am more than a little daunted when I look at the Allure. But hey, go BIG or go home! I am sifting through deckplans and see that this cabin type would put us on deck 10,11,12 or 14. For those who have been on the Allure before, is there one deck/area we should look at over others? Walking is not an issue for us so proximity to elevators is not a big deal. TIA!
  23. Just reserved 4 cabins for our family on the Allure of the Seas. Anyone else going on this cruise that leaves out of Miami 2/21/21??? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  24. Hi All, does anyone have any knowledge of the current sofabeds on Oasis and Allure? I thought it would mean my 2 boys sharing a double bed (which is a no-go!) but a bit research has indicated the sofabeds may be like 2 single beds, one upper and one lower pullout/trundle bed. Does anyone know if this is the case? If so this would work fine for us. Many thanks in advance.
