  1. We have a cruise booked on Liberty of the Seas sailing from Galveston on 8/15/2021. I just received an email from RCI. Just to make sure I read it right. I don't have to do anything and we'll be automatically move to Independence of the Seas on sailing on the same date. Not clear about the cabin, will we stay on the same one? I'll call RCI to clarify. I just hope we'll be able to sail on 8/15 doesn't matter which ship. 🙂 ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS
  2. Wondering is anyone has had their cancelled Liberty cruises out of Galveston moved over to Indy yet. We have a cruse 8/15. It sounds like some of the Indy to Odyssey moves were happening based on this forum, so I don't know if they're handling those first. I know this process takes a while....I'm just impatient and want to see my new reservation with everything moved over. Still worried that something will get messed up and have few cabin options as a family of 6!
  3. Wonder when Royal will officially change the itinerary and let us know. Since Cayman is closed through 2021, would be nice to know if all weeks will do the Roatan route or if they will come up with a new itinerary. I don't really care - just want to get onboard. I would assume as well that Liberty might have to do a test cruise when it comes back to take over from Indy. Of course, a lot can change between now and September!
  4. Will the Liberty OTS be back in Galveston for our October 3rd sailing?
  5. Wife and I are VERY hopeful to finally go on our Honeymoon cruise on 8/22 on Indy now, instead of the original trip on Liberty. (At this point, just get me in the ocean!) My question is for those that have been moved to Indy, did get your same room? I ask because we had 8336, right near the middle of the Hump. We booked this last March when COVID just fired up to make sure we had a great cabin. I am concerned they will just plug us in another cabin somewhere else, and not be a hump cabin after all this wait. Any insight, ideas, or help would be appreciated. 🙂 Thanks in advance
  6. Doing my daily check for rates and noticed that interior and Ocean View rooms are sold out, and balcony rooms are limited and WAY expensive. Price has gone up $400 a person since we booked. I wonder if they reduced the capacity, or if everyone near the Galveston port is just stir crazy enough to get on the boat with us! Anyone else seeing stuff like this for their cruise? 80 days until our Honeymoon - if it is even on Liberty, or Independence, or a tug boat, just get me on the Ocean!
  7. Have you stayed in 8609 or 8309 on Liberty or a sister ship? Curious what part of the Promenade you view from here. It is listed as Mid Ship. Thank you

  9. We have previously sailed on the Allure of the Seas and my husband is now looking at taking the Liberty of the Seas out of TX. Is there a huge difference between the ships? Allure had a ton to do and the board walk was kinda cool, but it wasn't a deal breaker for us. For those of you that have been on the Liberty of the Seas, did you find it had enough to do? We will be traveling with extended family so it will be from ages 1-62 🙂 Thanks!
  10. Happy Monday fellow CC board members! My wife and I are 90 days away from our Liberty of the Seas cruise for our honeymoon in August. This is the 3rd attempt and we are hopefully we are actually going to make it out of the port this time! May 2019 we went on an Enchantment of the Seas cruise out of Galveston and really enjoyed "The Key" benefits, but now it doesn't show available on the Cruise Planner. We are hoping to bid on a Royal Up Junior Suite from our Hump Balcony, but if that isn't possible, we wanted "The Key" as a back up for the boarding benefits. Also, trying t

  12. Only time we have been on RCCL was for four nights on Sovereign in 2002. Now, we are looking at a Western Caribbean out of Galveston with neighbors; a quick drive to port. They are looking at category CB on Deck 12 right next to spa. I notice that fitness center is below and Liberty Dunes (I believe flowrider) above. Anyone have experience with this cabin or one nearby? Is there a lot of noise from above? Are the elevator lobbies noisy? TIA, Marc PS I plead guilty to not using the search function.
  13. Just found out today that my 5 night Liberty sailing for 11/2/22 was cancelled. We had an incredible price on a 2 bedroom suite and they will not offer any price protection. Only options given are refund of deposit or rebook at prevailing rate. So bummed. Was going to be our first full suite. Also disturbing because I never received the email they claim was sent end of April. Anyone else ? Usually I find out on these boards before I even hear from royal.
  14. I sailed on Liberty of the Seas in September 2018 and loved it. I just booked for Thanksgiving this year and was surprised to read the most recent reviews that essentially detail her condition as long in the tooth. Complaints include stained/damaged carpeting, worn out beds, damaged furniture and cabinetry, and foul smells. I know she's due for a major (drydock) overhaul in Spring 2021, but don't some of these things get replaced through the normal course of business? I'm actually a bit concerned, as these reviews are really starting to go negative and my cruise is still nine months away.
  15. I have wanted since forever to do a Liberty sailing from Galveston. If you would, please advise which months are best for travel to/from that port. I read information that fog can be an issue during certain times of the year. I am targeting 2022 months of April, May, September - but honestly, I would go ANY month! I am super-excited about the itinerary (Falmouth, Grand Cayman and Cozumel). Thanks!
  16. I have read a bunch on the possible opening of the ports in Florida. However, I have not heard anything about the opening of Cape Liberty in New Jersey. Even if cruising does start up again - what are the chances that Cape Liberty will be open?
  17. We are thinking of booking a b2b on the Liberty, and I'm wondering if there's much noise from Studio B on Deck 3 into the last cabin in the hallway, cabin 3600. I can't seem to get to any of the cabin reviews here on CruiseCritic: the links seem to be dead. So, any info would be appreciated.
  18. Any Texas-area cruisers, there's a great deal on Liberty, for May 1, 2022. Balcony $565 pp, special C&A rate, and refundable deposit. When you look at the promos applied, it has no NRD listed. And my confirmation lists Refundable deposit up to final payment date. It's a good balcony rate, when you consider the balcony prices for the other sailing dates Mar-May 2022. Most sailings in the first half of 2022 on Liberty seem to have inflated prices. Inside rate is low also, $350 pp. I didn't check out if it was refundable, as i priced th
  19. I was on the phone with my TA and we were told we would have to call and talk to Revenue on Monday. Anyone heard of anything like this? Symphony is showing plenty of availability. This meets all the requirements of L&S - same week next year, Caribbean and same ship and same room category. Anyone have this issue? If so, was it resolved?
  20. Hello, everyone! I put down some refundable deposits on two rooms (2313 - Spacious Family Interior and 2268 - Ultra Spacious Ocean View) for a September 2022 cruise for my family. I have been able to see some pictures of room 2268, but I cannot find any of room 2313. Does anyone have any personal experience or pictures? Thanks! J
  21. Hello, I am working on our combined cruise scrapbook album (thought that this would be a good year to make some headway into it! LOL!). I have kept the Cruise Compasses for all of our cruises, but cannot find those for Liberty of the Seas sailing from Dec 22-29, 2007. If anyone has them, would you please scan the first page of each day and send to me at bjdamascus at aol dot com? Also, who was the captain of the ship at the time? Thank you SO MUCH for your help! I really appreciate it! Hoping everyone is enjoying the holidays, different as they may be this year!
  22. I lifted and shifted mine but am still in the group. Someone just checked in today and got this. I thought rcl was doing the testing?
  23. We are Pinnacle but have been on Celebrity only for the last 3-4 years. I know our perks may be changed so thinking of taking a Grand Suite on LB next year or two. What are the current perks, if any, in a Grand suite, please? We normally book a Jr. Suite as it is plenty big. But I know only perks there are whatever your loyalty status is.
  24. We are sailing next week on anthem of the sea room 12 678. We are leaving out of New Jersey which side of the ship is this room? Also from this balcony room where we have a view of the Statue of Liberty when we are leaving New Jersey? Does he even pass Statue of LibertyAnd if it does does the balcony view have a good view of it
  25. We booked aft cabins on deck 8 on Jewel, sailing out of Galveston, for our cruise next year. Yesterday we were told that Jewel will not be sailing out of Galveston next year and our ship has been changed to Liberty. Working with our TA I was able to get aft cabins on deck 7 on Liberty for the same price we paid on Jewel. The deck plans for Liberty say the cabins have obstructed views. We have cruised in aft cabins on Adventure, which also has obstructed views, and had no problem with the "obstruction". I know Voyager class and Freedom class ships are similar in design. Is the "obstructed" view
