  1. Hi,Just wondered if anyone had seen a price reduction of the drinks package on the UK site like you hear of on the US site. We are on Rhapsody next year.At the moment it is £41.80 per day.Or do they have the 10 drink package on board.
  2. Posted on the relevant roll calls as well, but Royal sent out emails this morning for the April 18 TA and May 2 re-positioning to say that due to port congestion in Barcelona, Rhapsody of the Seas will disembark/embark in Tarragona, Spain. They are offering a free shuttle from Barcelona to Tarragona. Not sure if any other ships will be affected, or if they chose Rhapsody because she was transitioning through Barcelona rather than homeporting there.
  3. Anyone been on the Rhapsody recently for the Italy/Greek Island cruise? Going in a few weeks and I would love to hear your thoughts about the ship and the ports.... Thanks in advance, Pam
  4. Two questions: Do they have low-weight dumbbells? (5 pounders in particular) Do they have exercise balls to use in the gym- the kind you sit on to do core exercises, etc. TIA for any info you can provide!
  5. Cruising in Feb. for a B2B2B and trying to decide on times for Specialty dinners. I know different ships have different times, so just wondered if any recent cruisers could verify those times.
  6. Hello! I am looking for information on the Western Mediterranean itinerary on Allure of the Seas or the Greece/Croatia itenerary on Rhapsody. I am not looking for info on the Allure as I've sailed it before, but rather on the itinerarys, or if someone can compare the two boats. Hope that make sese. Can someone guide me as to where to find reviews of this specific itinerary? Looking to sail early June, 2020. We are really limited on our travel dates, so needs to be something the first week of June. Thank you!
  7. I have never been on a ship that old - to say it looked every day of its 22 years is an understatement The layout is brilliant - It would be great to see a new smaller ship with a similar design, but good grief this was as tired as any 2 star hotel I have ever stayed in I know RCI own Pullmantur and Tui, but surely this would be too awful to palm off on them
  8. Rhapsody OTS Oct 12th departure is extended till 9:45 PM and I had read that now it's happening quite often. Question for previous cruisers: would cruise line provide paid transfer from port to St Marco (we had it while on Celebrity)? We want to explore Venice in our own and to advantage of this situation. We aware of vaporetto option but i prefer water RCCL transfer. Thanks for your help, Tanya PS Our Kotor stop is ruined as well since now we will arrive @ 5 pm...:(((
  9. What is better the Concierge Club or Diamond Club?
  10. Does anyone know what the plans are for Rhapsody's two week Dry-dock in Europe at the end of October 2019? It appears to be a two week Dry dock. I have not seen any announcements from Royal on the planned changes/Updates. Thanks in Advance! Trey
  11. We've sailed only the larger/newer ships and now are hoping to venture out on Rhapsody for an itinerary out of Venice. I have read just about all I could find about this type of sailing but still have a few questions. Would appreciate any guidance! Trying to decide between Grand Suite 2 BR and 2 Junior Suites (aft). We have never had an aft balcony so it would be a first, though this would not be one of the coveted corners (but the huge balconies in regular aft cabins seem nice!). Any thoughts on extra movement/vibration in those? (We've always been midship -- though the Adriatic seems generally pretty calm, right?) We also have never been in a real suite (just juniors). The GS-2BRs are midship, and we would not get one on Deck 8 (because of potential pool noise overhead). I've read the second bedroom is tiny in these suites. Not a huge deal because of the living room area, but does anyone know about that second bathroom? Is the shower the same as in the regular cabins? Regarding suite perks, because this is port-intensive, I'd think priority tenders would be helpful but not sure. We know nothing about suite lounges (concierge lounges?) and timings of happy hours, so would love any info re those. (All I've heard is that they get crowded.) Are there hors d'oeuvres offered during those hours? Separately (but kinda related), with such a port-intensive sailing, does later dining seem the way to go? (If so, those snacks would come in handy.) We've typically ended up with My Time Dining in the end -- and likely will be eating at a few specialty restaurants -- but since we have options right now, just want to know what to go ahead and reserve. Finally ... silly question, but is there something like Sorrento's on board? Those late-night piping-hot pizza slices were nice to have on our recent Anthem trip! TIA
  12. Looking at Mediterranean cruises and Rhapsody is so cheap comparatively! Can anyone tell me about their experiences?
  13. Its the only one i'm missing from my collection but none every seem to appear on ebay. Anyone know where I might be able to buy one. I'm in the UK. Thanks
  14. Does anyone have current MDR menus that they can post. Thanks.
  15. I've found a nice Mediterranean itinerary out of Venice on the Rhapsody for June 2020 . As it is an older style of ship just wondering if it is looking tired. I want to get my choice right as it is for my DH's 80th Birthday. We have done a few trips on the other Class of ships - the last 2 on the Independence which we found too big & busy. We hope to opt for a Junior Suite on the Rhapsody- can't find much on the Cabin info section - are there any that I should avoid other than the one's under the Hot Tub? To be honest - any tips/ information / thoughts will be appreciated.
  16. Anyone know much about the ship Rhapsody? We booked 2 side by side one bedroom grand suites (they were actually less than the junior suites at the time of booking and sold out soon after). The 2 suites are not connecting though, which is fine. I'm wondering if the dividers between the balconies on the Rhapsody can be opened by the steward on request. Also, looking for any and all information in regards to pre-cruise and post-cruise stays, including hotel and activity ideas in Venice and Barcelona. First time for the 4 of us in Europe 🤩 Hoping to spend 2 nights in each city before and after cruise. All information greatly appreciated!
  17. Will be doing our first back to back cruise on Royal. How do they handle? Does everyone gather and go off and back on the ship at once? Is there a reception for those doing back to back?
  18. Hi, you oh so helpful Cruise Critic members. Cabins 2094 and 2594 seem to face a wall, NOT the entrance to the elevator/stairs lobby. Am I correct? I know there's a wonderful compilation of cabin info, but I tried using it and got a bit lost. I even found a source for photos, but didn't know how to find what I'm looking for there, either. --May B
  19. It's been awhile since I've been on a RC cruise. I recall they had an ATM machine but I didn't use it. Since we will be on the Rhapsody (in Europe), will the ATM give out Euros? What is the fee for using it? How's the exchange rate onboard? TIA! Pam
  20. Hello everyone, Just finished 3 weeks on Rhapsody, happy to answer any questions.
  21. I went in to my cruise planner today and was pleasantly surprised to find the beverage package priced at $45.00 per person. Lowest had been $47.00, highest had been $61.00. We are on the Rhapsody on the November 23, 2019 sailing. Hope others can save some money today as well!
  22. Hi - We're travelling on Rhapsody next year and I have found conflicting info about the suite perks. Iome of the information I've found suggests that things are available but then I've read some reviews that indicated they weren't, so any help anyone can give me would be great! 1) Do we get priority boarding? 2) Is there a concierge lounge? 3) Is there a special area for breakfast? And not related to suite perks, but i'm rather fond a piano bar on a cruise - is there a good piano bar on Rhapsody? Thanks!
  23. Can anyone tell me if there is anything special that goes on over Thanksgiving cruise?
  24. Hi, Just wondering what time you can disembark the 6:45am arrival cruise shiip. Its the rhapsody of the seas. I have a flight booked for 12:30pm, and wondering If i will have time, and the quickest way to get to airport. Thanks
  25. My husband and I were just on an Anthem cruise out of Barcelona and when we were ordering drinks (we did not have the drink package), on top of the 18% gratuities they always add, there was an additional 15% tax. In a couple months I will be going on Rhapsody out of Venice and am curious if anyone knows if an additional tax applies if you are buying drinks on that particular cruise (Greek isles)? If such a tax does exist for this cruise, is it already in the amount if I were to buy the drink package or would I be charged that tax every single time I get a drink? Thanks so much
