  1. Can someone help guide me to find some photos reviews of the serenade of the seas while in Alaska!
  2. I should be in Galveston now, inviting y'all to join us on a Liberty B2B, but fate has prevented that, so lets go to Copenhagen 😷 This was exactly one year ago, and I didn't invite you then, so lets cross the pond now. At least I've got decent internet now
  3. Hi - I see Serenade was on the move this morning. Any idea where it's going an why? Seems to be heading west from Bridgetown.
  4. Came across this article in my local paper this morning. "Lucy, a 31-year-old UK native, works in entertainment on the Serenade of the Seas, which is now anchored near the port of Barbados void of its usual 2,500 passengers, and housing about 780 of its 900-person crew. She takes The Post aboard a ship that’s floating aimlessly for the foreseeable future." The headline is a little sensationalized with the word "horror" but the rest of the article gives a good glimpse of what crew life is like right now. https://nypost.com/2020/04/10/cruise-ship-worker-reveals-horror-of-coronavirus-quarantine/
  5. Found an article which was from the NY Post about Serenade of the Seas which is presently off of Barbados. It is a crew member interview. Being that it is the NY Post and inclined to sensationalism the title says horror...lol Read it. Fake news headline! Royal is doing the right thing for all the crew members presently on the ships. https://nypost.com/2020/04/10/cruise-ship-worker-reveals-horror-of-coronavirus-quarantine/
  6. Don’t want to jump the gun only to fight with them later. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Forums

  8. Can anyone tell me the perks for a grand suite they have had on Serenade of the seas. I have never had a suite on Radiance class. Where is breakfast, what tours were offered ,is there priority seating around the pool?
  9. We will be on board Serenade somewhere between Australia and New Zealand for New Year Eve. We've not cruised over the holiday period before and have no idea what to expect. I assume it will be a formal night but what else could we expect in the way of activities on NYE that might appeal to our family (children will be 13 and 10 years old). And aside from semi formal and formal nights, are there any other themed nights (13 night cruise if that matters)? Many thanks Lou
  10. Hi We’re thinking of cruising to Alaska this summer and have been told that smaller ships that cruise the Inside Passage from Vancouver (Serenade) have the best itineraries to see wildlife/ Alaska vs the ones that cruise from Seattle (Ovation). But we’re travelling with our 12 and 8 year olds so I was hoping others could share their thoughts about the Serenade in Alaska for young kids? TIA
  11. Is it necessary to purchase an internet package to use a cell phone on board?
  12. Recommendations on what to do on cruising days. We are used to cruising to the Caribbean so going to the pool would be our obvious choice. whats the options on a colder climate?
  13. Just wondering if you can do the same restaurant twice?
  14. We're sailing on the Serenade in a couple of weeks. Do they have the Coke Freestyle machines on this ship?/ Thanks in Advance Jdarmo
  15. Can anyone tell me if there is a noise issue with cabin 8590 on Serenade. I have read about cabin 9078 being able to hear music from the Atrium late at night and 8590 is also in that general area. I was curious if anyone had stayed in this cabin and had any problems. Thanks in advance.
  16. Hi All, thank you for all your help so far. We are on our first cruise on Serenade of the Seas (Alaskan Cruise) in August 2020. Can I just ask a few questions regarding this ship, Shows..... are there different shows each day in the Tropical Theatre ?? Each day is the same show on at 7pm & 9pm ?. Viking Crown Lounge......Are all guests allowed into this lounge, the only reason I ask is, it is in the same area as both the Concierge & Diamond Club. Cafe Latte-tudes..........It states for this area that there are charges for drinks...........We are on the Deluxe Drinks Package, are there still other charges or additional charges. Mini Bar in Cabin...............Is there a separate charge for the Mini Bar when we have the Deluxe Drinks Package. Thank You in advance
  17. Couple years ago we did the Beantown to Beaches 11 day repositioning cruise on Serenade and it was one of our favorite ever. Thinking of booking same cruise but it’s on Brilliance, how does this ship compare to Serenade?
  18. Which cabin would you choose? We are able to book either cabin 9078 or aft cabin 7174 on the Serenade. Which cabin is the better choice? I know - tough decision. lol
  19. We have just selected a guaranteed inside cabin with Serenade of the Seas to Alaska from Vancouver in June 2020. I have been researching a lot about prices etc and thought we did pretty good with our price. However when I read on here about guaranteed rooms I did not realize we may not know our cabin until the very day. It sound like that is quite rare but wondered if many on here have had some good results with guaranteed rooms and if some on here have had to wait til the day of. We are planning to stay in Vancouver the day before and won't have access to a printer but will have a cell phone that day so will get data in the hotel. So hoping will not run into any really bad snags..I guess it is too late to avoid now.
  20. We have just selected a Cruise with RC's Serenade of the Sea to go to Alaska.Wondering what people thing fo the entertainment on this ship? Hoping for some good shows.
  21. Happened during dinner last night. Captain deverted to Falmouth to get patient to hospital. Seas too rough for chopper. Two hours ago two attempts to dock in Falmouth were aborted, not safe conditions. Are heading to Colon at top speed. hoping to get there 5pm tomorrow. Panama and Costa Rico excursions cancelled, costs being returned to guests. Rick and Deirdra
  22. Hi All, greetings from Ireland. This is my first post (re posted from cruise cabin tips) and we have never been on a cruise before. For our 40th Wedding Anniversary (and wife's 60th) we have booked our first cruise on the Serenade Of The Seas in August 2020 Alaska Cruise from Vancouver. We booked a Junior Suite for the extra room and hopefully views. Our kids told us to book the Junior Suite as they are paying the extra to get the suite. So, what should we expect ??, did we pick the right cabin or is it not worth the extra money ??. Has anyone stayed in cabin 1572 on the Serenade Of The Seas ?? We have purchased The Key as we would have purchased the Vroom Internet anyway and it was only a few euro extra. What is the general opinion on The Key ?. We also have my time dining, I take it we can dine anytime as we did not want to have a set time. For this do we book each day for the time we want. Is it difficult to get a table for 2 ? We know nothing about cruises, so would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance
  23. Hello! New to cruising and to RCI. We are in the process of booking an Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver on Serenade of the Seas. 2 adults and 2 small kids. Debating which cabin would be better: 9590 or 9572. 9590 seems to have a bit larger balcony and more of "over the water" view, but is close to the staircase and the balcony is kind of looking backwards. 9572 seems to be a pretty standard room in that category, but the balcony is smaller and if I'm not wrong we'd be looking at the cover above the life boats and not the water if looking straight down. I'd appreciate any thoughts on this (non-crucial) debate!
  24. We are not people who enjoy putting on a shirt & tie/dress for dinner anymore. Thanks
  25. Enjoy my new video - Serenade OTS - E1/1D - Ocean View with Balcony 1020.
