    Sky

Would a 3 or 4 night cruise on the Sky be ok for kids age 6 and 9? Was thinking of doing a Disney cruise so there would be more for them to do but the same cruise on the Sky is much cheaper. Any insight?

    Sky to Bahamas

Cruising at the end of February on the Sky and wondering about the ports. I'm familiar with Key West and Nassau, but for Great Stirrup Cay and Grand Bahama...if we decide to not to any excursions but do want to get off the ship, what might our options be for activities or relaxing on a beach? Are they easily accessible from port, or must we purchase a beach excursion to enjoy? Thank you for the advice!

    Sky or Sun

Which is better for a 4 night Bahamas cruise later this year? Sky or Sun? I haven't been on either. Looking to get some perks for this cruise. Which one has better restaurants?

    Cuba on NCL Sky

Going to Cuba in Jan 2019. Any suggestions or tips.
  5. I just booked the Sky owners suite 9201. It says it sleeps 5 but I only see one couch and a king size bed. Is there a pull down Murphy bed in the living room? I’m a newby on Norwegian. Only sailed on Carnival and Bahamas Paradise so I don’t know what to expect.
  6. Going on the Sky in mid February and wondering if it's being refurbished that it will be out of service for a while? If so what are they working on? Thanks
  7. One of my girlfriends is on the Sky and flipping out about all the problems they’re having. Not going to Cuba, boat shaking, rattling and smelling like sewage. I couldn’t find any previous posts. Has anyone heard anything?

    Sky platinum perks?

I've searched and researched and I don,t see anything on NCL site or CC that tells what is available to a platinum cruiser on the 4 Day Sky? I assume a separate checkin at MIA and 10% at the shops, but is there a discount on shore ex's or anything else? thx in advance
  9. Hi - I enjoyed my Sky 4 day Bahamas cruise in November, and was thinking of going on it again next year - or maybe the same ship to Cuba. However, the Sky only has cruises listed through August 2019. Does anyone know when the fall cruises for Sky go up? Or is something else happening to the Sky? TIA.
  10. We will be on the NCL Sky which fare includes unlimited beverages. I found this in a Cruise Critic article. Will we see a daily gratuity added to our accounts? You've seen all the pick-your-perk promotions that go on about the freebies you get for booking. Well, it's not really free when you have to pay gratuities, or the credited value doesn't cover full costs. For example, if you choose Norwegian's free Ultimate Beverage Package, you actually have to pay nearly $20 per person, per day, in drink gratuities -- a cost of $140 per person for a seven-night cruise. If you wouldn't have spent that much on drinks in the first place, you'll realize that sometimes cruise sales don't save you money in the end.
  11. It looks like the Sky will be in dry dock from Jan 22 to Feb 8, 2019. Any news or rumors on how big a face lift she's getting? The Sun looks beautiful after her Edge enhancements, I wonder if Sky will be getting something similar or just run-of-the-mill refreshments.

    ST THOMAS SKY TRAM

Point Paradise Sky Tram. NCL's excursion at Havensight pier. Feedback please from cruisers who have experienced this ride up. Do you walk to the entrance of the cable car from the pier or will NCL provide transportation? Can you take a taxi? If you walked would you recommend this excursion? Thanks in advance.
  15. Hello! Excited as this is our first trip to Cuba! We just booked and got double points along with obc with latitudes rewards. Anyone else got great deals? We noticed right after booking that the price went up. Also, any advice on do's and don't from seasoned travelers to Cuba. Aloha, Tracy
  16. anyone recently on the Sky that smoke. My question is that upon embarkment they normally only allow smoking in the humidor. It doesn't look like the sky has a humidor. Where do they allow you to smoke until the boat leaves port. thanks!
  17. Hello all, New to NCL, and booked on the Sky for the week of Thanksgiving. Three questions I'm hoping someone can answer: 1. On Sky or Norwegian in general, is there a benefit to booking shore excursions on the ship vs. private vendors? Pros and cons? 2. Our cruise stops at Nassau and Grand Bahama Island , but is VERY very vague about where exactly on GH. I assume Freeport, but I saw some things online about NCL abandoning Freeport as a stop. Few shore excursions listed there. Any suggestions? 3. A little unrelated, but does anyone know if there is anything special for Thanksgiving Day on a cruise? I've never sailed on a holiday before. :-) Thanks so much for your input!! Anne --newbie, so learning signatures. :-) I've cruised on Carnival and Disney before.

    SKY - Open Bar

Are all the drinks free or is there a price limit? Do you have to pay gratuities for each drink? How about coffees and soda? Thanks for any clarification.

    NCL Sky open bar

Going on NCL sky in Aug. It's an open bar ship. What are the brands of vodka, rum, spiced rum and gin? If their house liquor is a lower quality brand, are you able to use your 50$ ship credit for alcohol upgrades? Thanks
  20. Hi fellow cruisers! I have a chance to do a 3day cruise during easter (departure: Miami 19th April 2019) and have two options: 1) norwegian Sky. Drink package and one speciality dining included. Old ship 3,5 rating 2) royal caribbean mariner of the seas. On paper a better ship, 4,5 stars. No drinks included. I could have Mariner with balcony with the same price than NCL Sky with oceanview. What should I do? For me NCL seems a bit better for the following reasons: - we are a youngish (30+) guys looking for good time so rather young people instead of seniors or kids. I would assume kids would choose RCCL for better water slides etc? - having a drink package on stirrup cay sounds nice. The point is not the get wasted but having the drinks prepaid works pretty well for me. - since we are friends, we'd rather spend less time in the cabin than on a romantic couple trip. I know that balcony is great, but for this trip the value doesn't seem that great. Any reason I should book Royal caribbean? Is food much better there? Is there a difference in finding a twin bed cabin in these ships? Easter is propably a popular holiday time in the States as well (we're from Finland). I getting 499$ for this NCL (before taxes, gratuities etc) including drinks and 1 speciality dining. Any chances this price will still drop or would this be a good time to book? One more question: when they say one speciality dining is included, does this also include le Bistro, which is normally an a la carte restaurant? Any help is much appreciated!
  21. Where are the cigarette smoking areas at on the Sky?
  22. Hi all: it's been several years since last we were cruising on the Norwegian Sky... and a lot has changed so I have a couple of questions: With the advent of the "All-Inclusive" beverage service aboard Sky, do they still have bar servers who will take drink orders around the pool and in lounges like Dazzles or has it changed to a "go to the bar yourself" scenario ? Does the Plantation Club lounge still serve sushi ?
  23. So I have done a dozen cruises..all with Royal/Celebrity but grabbed a cheap 3day deal with NCL on Sky. I have been reading up on reviews and posts etc but still have a few questions I hope some experienced NCL cruisers can help me with. On board account...I chose a cash account(always do with Royal) bit it appears that with NCL you have to make a deposit on the account to use it?..you cant make purchases and then pay them off? Do they offer self disembark option where you carry off your own luggage? This is our preferred option with Royal. On Sky its drinks included....wondered about things like bottled water or Gatorade if that is included? I know its not a "true" drink package like if you purchased on a different NCL ship....but it seems like there maybe a lot of drinks NOT included in this "free" package on Sky?! Any other tips or information would be greatly appreciated especially if someone has cruised Royal and NCl and knows what to look for or expect differences with. Thanks in Advance!
  24. Going on the Sky in December for a girls trip. My mom, aunt, & myself. Ages range from 43 to 66. Yes, we know this is a "booze cruise" & we don't care. :) Since this is a last minute decision, we are trying to keep cost to minimum. Two of us have cruised Carnival several times. Here are my questions: 1. We can get an inside gty room for $1009 or an OV gty room for $1169. Seems like a no-brainer to choose the OV. It is my understanding these rooms will have queen bed and sofa bed. Is that correct? It seems these rooms are much smaller than what we are use to, but don't plan on being there much. 2. Do we get one card upon boarding that we use for everything? I can't seem to confirm this. It looks like there is a different card for the casino? 3. Are there private showers to use after a gym workout? 4. Any tips/tricks? I will continue to search here, but would like recent information. Thanks in advance for your help!
  25. Anyone else going on the SKY December 10 cruise? Didn’t see any roll call.
