  1. Hello. We are booked on the Celestyal Crystal 19th September 2020 Athens to Athens. Anyone else out there thinking of going of this Med Cruise? We'd love to hear from you or from anyone who has cruised on the Crystal before with any hints or suggestions
  2. This is our second time on board the Crystal. First time was their 7 night Cuba cruise back in 2017. Really enjoyed the size of the ship. Anyone else booked? Very excited for this itinerary & hoping to trade out some of the included excursions for the other choices. Some are the same as what is offered on the 4 nighter we're doing first.
  3. Hello everyone. My wife (Karen) and myself (Stan) are booked on this cruise as part of a B2B we are doing with the first part being the Steps of St. Paul departing on November 13, 2021. This will be our first cruise with Celestyal although we have been on small cruise ships with Viking. We really like the small cruise ship experience. One of the things I am interested in is whether we can find any optional excursions with other tour companies that will allow us to save some money on the excursion price. One company I have come across is the Ashdod Israel port of call. It basically does the same cruise as Celestyal does but at a cost that saves around US $43.00 per person based on the current Celestyal excursion price. The small group excursion is US$99.00 per person. I would like to see if any others would be interested in sharing this small group excursion with us. We need a minimum of 6 people to guarantee the small group tour with a maximum of 16 people. If you would like to see information about the small group tour go to www.GuidedToursISrael.com and look for “Shore Excursions.” Then “From the port of Ashdod.” Then the “Jerusalem Excursions.” We are doing the Jerusalem and Bethlehem tour. Details are “We will pick you up from the Ashdod port in the morning just outside the ship to make our way to the holy city of Jerusalem. On our tour you will be able to enjoy a guided trip to all the major attractions of Jerusalem including the Jewish and Christian quarters in the old city, Western Wall, Via Dolorosa, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Mount of Olives/Garden of Gethsemane, and more. The tour in the old city of Jerusalem is a walking tour as driving is not possible in the old city. In the afternoon we will visit the Israel Museum with the Dead Sea scrolls before heading back to the port of Ashdod in time for departure.” There are reviews of this company on Trip Advisor. Let me know if you have any questions. I will also be looking for excursions in other ports. Stan
  4. Hopefully we will be on this cruise! We were supposed to do this March 2020, but the pandemic put an end to that. We will be on the November 16 Icon Aegean 4 nighter before boarding the Crystal. This is our second time on the Crystal - we did a 7 night circle Cuba a few years ago & really enjoyed the cruise. Looking forward to being back on board.
  5. This is our first cruise.....anyone else going?
  6. This will be our first time sailing with Celestyal Cruises. Is there anyone else out there who will be on this sailing (October 3 - 10, 2020)? Does anyone have recommendations for private tour companies they have used in any of the ports for this itinerary (Kusadasi, Rhodes, Heraklion, Santorini, Milos, Mykonos)? We have always preferred to do small group tours rather than the big bus tours. Any suggestions or information about this itinerary would be appreciated. It would be nice to connect with others who may be on this sailing. Thanks!
  7. We are sailing on the Celestyal Crystal to Egypt, Israel, Cyprus and Turkey on Feb 29/20 returning to Athens on March 7/20 at 9am. Does anyone have experience with how quickly one can debark the ship in Athens (would also have to clear customs) as we are thinking about doing a shore excursion to Corinth with a drop off at the airport.
  8. We had a great cruise! Exceeded expectations. I posted a lengthy review on Cruise Critic. What a relaxing, reliable and efficient way to travel around the Aegean and the Greek Islands. No packing and unpacking! The ship travels when you are sleeping.
  9. Celestyal is a new one for us, we've sailed loads with Royal Caribbean, a few on NCL, a few on Fred Olsen, and we love Cunard, but we're looking for a specific date and the only one that looks remotely okay is a nice suite on a five day Greek cruise on the Celestyal Crystal. Has anyone been on this one? What did you think of it? The service? Dining? Entertainment? Hoping you're all going to say it's brilliant because the dates work perfectly! Many thanks to anyone who can recommend, or otherwise.
  10. Hi Is anyone on here going on the Celestyal Crystal in November or been on it previously in the Winter? I am considering this but am worried that the islands will be 'closed'!! Thanks
  11. We are booked on the Crystal in September for the Greek Isles. My wife noticed last night that there are 2 formal nights on the cruise, indicating mandatory coat and tie in the dining room. This could be a deal breaker as I wore those in my 25-year sales career and vowed to never put a suit on again. I will dress in business casual, but not put a noose around my neck again. Can somebody advise on this? Thanks
  12. Hello! Anyone on Celestyal Crystal sailing the 21st October from Athens?
  13. Surgery bug hit and had to change to these dates. The itinerary is fantastic! Wife and I will be sailing. anybody else? Looking for fellow cruzers...
  14. Hi. We are sailing on 29th February 2020 from Athens onboard celestial crystal. We are looking for extra passengers interested in visiting the Dead sea & Masada whilst the ship is in Ashdod, although the ship is not running tours there as we are the only ship in that day. We have found a tour company (info@guidedtoursisrael.com) who are prepared to run a day trip but the cost is high unless we can get enough extra passengers to join us. If you are interested please contact 'Leo' at the website and if we get enough interest, the cost per passenger will come down considerably. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Steve & Gaynor
  15. Wife and I will be sailing. anybody else? The itinerary is fantastic!
  16. Looking for others booked on the June 13 sailing of the Celestyal Crystal to start a Roll Call.
  17. We are sailing on the Crystal the first week of October on the Idyllic Aegean itinerary. Just wondering if you took the shore excursions. Which ones and were you happy with the excursions? We are trying to decide which one we are going add to the 3 excursions that are included in our cruise fare. Thanks Barbara
  18. I`ve read that food and service are remarkable. - Any and all feedback would be welcome. TIA!
  19. We're planning a Greek Islands cruise from/to Athens with stops in Mykonos, Milos, Santorini, Crete/Iraklion, Kusadasi. Is there a preferred side for a cabin (starboard or port)?
  20. San Diego 1 Posts Joined Sep 2018 Posted Today, 04:18 AM Can these excursions be taken on either day for 2 day stops? e.g. Santorini. I'm having such a hard time planning my itinerary without knowing which days these are offered. Our travel agent has already signed us up for this package.
