Discuss Implementation of Smoking Policy

We recently booked a Princess cruise BECAUSE of this policy. We had our choices narrowed down to three cruises we were considering, one on RCCL, one on HAL and one and Princess. We choose the Princess cruise because of this policy change. We made sure Princess (through our Princess travel consultant) was aware of why we choose Princess over the others.

(Subject should probably say "That's minus two and plus one.")

Next time, check out other lines with absolute enforcement of very restrictive smoking policies (e.g., Oceania)

Wow, I have just spent some time reading through this thread. I was surprised to see smoking allowed inside, but each cruise line to their own

We are sailing on the Sapphire Princess later this year.

Where will the smoking areas be?

Are the inside smoking areas closed off?

Does the smell of cigarette smoke filter through the ship?

Is the inside smoking all day every day?

When last onboard earlier this year:

Deck 7 - Starboard aft

Deck 16 - Portside forward (by Tradewinds bar)

Deck 6 - Churchill Lounge

On Caribbean Princess Deck 7 - Starboard aft ... it's just one of those silver boxes on the wall.

Only good for a "quick smoke". ;)

Bad news for smokers on Diamond. We just got off her no smoking inside not even in cigar lounge

Jeep1,

There was no smoking allowed in the Churchill Lounge or the casino?

Thanks,

Jo

I was on the Island last year & as I recall, there was an outside area on the deck above Lido and Churchill's on the Promenade deck (comfy chairs and large windows there - great place to see the sea). I think there was also an area on one side of the Promenade deck outside at the rear of the ship (box on the wall).

.hi--we leave in a couple of days on the Crown .It's a 14 day T/A

I haven't read anything current re: smoking on this ship. I'm hoping to hear from a couple (or more!) about the Crown.

We also got word the Crown is just coming out of dry-dock--they've delayed our departure time from 4PM to 6PM.

We had sooo much fun on the Crown in Dec.! The smoking is like Deck 15 Fwd. Tradewinds, I think. It's awesome. Enjoy!!

Just on the Crown earlier this month. Smoking areas were: Gatsby's Cigar Lounge (next to the Casino on Deck 6), Deck 16 next to the Tradewinds bar (tables with ashtrays - some are in a covered area), Deck 7 aft on the starboard side (box on the wall) and at some of the slot machines in the casino.

Enjoy your T/A!!

Also, there is a little-known "spot" on an upper deck starboard (I think 15), slightly aft. It's outside, and was always windy, but great for that last smoke of the nite!

Oh yeah - THAT one!! LOL. I'm thinking I went up there once after dinner at Sabatini's. I usually used either Gatsby's or near Tradewinds since we were near the front elevators on deck 5 (easy run up 1 deck to Gatsby's after hitting the IC for morning coffee!).

Are there designated smoking areas provided on the Sea Princess? Pacific Island cruise?

Thank you

My mother smokes and we do have an interior cabin and I am 100% aware of the NON smoking rules

Thank you

According to THIS POST made today in another thread he main smoking area is on deck 12 on the port side. That's all I can tell you as I haven't smoked in about 30 years.
