2019, 2020 Cruise Schedules

Looking to take a Mediterranean Cruise in late summer or fall of 2019, but the itineraries aren't working for when we can schedule time off from work.

So the next option is to wait for 2020. Is there a general consensus for when cruise lines release their 2020 schedules? Are they all around the same time as each other?

Also...although the 2019 schedules appear to be set, is it common/possible for a cruise line to add in a cruise for 2019 if we keep checking?

Seems to be a lot more Mediterranean cruises in 2018 than in 2019. :(

Adding a cruise in a particular area of the world requires subtracting it from another area of the world. It is rare for a cruise line to make such a shift after publicly announcing their schedule of itineraries for all of their ships. However, Celebrity did so in 2017 when they shifted Equinox's published itineraries from the Med to the Caribbean. A lot of Celebrity's customers were quite upset when their planned Med cruises disappeared!

If a cruise line has already published their itinerary for 2019 I would not expect any new ones for that year.

Each line has a different rollout schedule for 2020 itineraries. Some lines already have their itineraries published while some do not.

Best to ask on the respective cruise line boards if you have particular lines in mind.

what lines are you looking at? have you checked all the different cruise lines to see if one will suit your needs better?

Most do the same itineraries yr after yr

At this point, mostly Norwegian and HAL. They both have Medit. cruises with itineraries that work well for us. In 2018, these cruises are offered several times each in various months. In 2019, however, these same particular cruises are only offered once or twice. Hoping in 2020 they go back to offering far more dates.

Maybe branch out your search to some other lines during the time frame you are available

Thanks, that was pretty helpful. At this point, the major cruise lines don't show any Mediterranean cruises yet for 2020, so I'll continue to monitor.
