they must have back up power for lights A/C and cooking... what about elevators , pool filters?

Ok even before this posted it was fixed! Hope it stays fixed!.,

How ling was ship stopped..any reason given,

The backup light came on in our room and within a minute or two Captain Kate came on and announced a black out. The lights are back on but the ship isn’t going anywhere at this point. I’m sitting on the balcony and will relax and let the crew do there jobs. I’ve never heard of this before. Thoughts.

First time in 150+ Celebrity cruises!! Still dead in the water. Cabin lights and A/C working. Captain said power still out to non-essential areas.

I shouldn’t have read this! We are on the next sailing. The last thing I want is for it to be cancelled due to a power failure instead of a hurricane! :(

First thing to do it to go to the toilet, before the pumps stop working. And I hope celebrity ships are better designed (compared to Carnival Triumph, and Costa Concordia, which are nearly the same design), not to have single point of failure (a single point with the principal switch boxes).
