Very extensive 9/11 Spirit Review

I do have to say that we did not make it to the meet and greet (we kinda played things by ear and made sure that we didn't make actual plans due to our little one being with us this time around and knew that we would have to cater to her needs more on this trip). However, I think since the ship was much smaller that we kept running into everyone from our roll call. It was nice. So many people knew me from my picture and I must have had about 20 or more people ask me if I'm Kim. LOL So I did get a chance to meet most. We did have a lot on our roll call that seemed to be doing the same things in port we did as well. So we got to meet a majority of them. :)

Also, wanted to send my thoughts and prayers to one of our roll call members that was severely hurt on the first day of the cruise and had to end their trip at the first port of call to go to Cancun and be flown home for emergency surgery on their hand due to a ship door and the high winds that night. Praying for a speedy recovery! Everyone please be careful when vacationing. I may it a point to be extra careful this time around because I swore I would not break anything this time. LOL (Although that never stopped my fun before). :p

Great pictures!

On your first page of pictures (your daughter and husband are on a lounge bed then standing by a table with painted walls) where is that???

I must have TOTALLY missed this on the ship????

I know the lounge bed is in the back of the Casino in the bar/lounge called Maharini's Club. I would have to look at the picture by the table and painted walls to see what that one is.

Did you go in the casino? If you did, you know at the back of the Casino, you go up and few stairs and there is more slot machines...well to the left of it is the night club and you will find the beds back there.

There are the small 2-4 person tables along the wall and opposite of the bar, then this area was in the corner beside the bar. Not sure how you missed it LOL. It was always all lit up and had the big umbrella type thing over the top of it (as you see in the pictures). :D There were a lot of neat places there that I missed the first few times of walking around and later discovered. We had a lot of time on our hands when the little one was at the kids program or if we were just trying to keep her busy walking with us. :)

ok I just went back and looked thru all 685 of my own pictures and I see where that is. There were also red velvet chairs and green/gold ottomens and lots of tv's where people were watching movies during the day.

I'll have to pay more attention next Feb!!

Yep, that would be it. They always seem to have some type of sports on when we were in there though. People were cheering the tv on. lol :p

Wonderful review. Best CC review & pictures ever (sorry Nathan). NCL, and all of the excursion people should pay you a commission for all of the people rushing to book this cruise after reading your review ! We love the Spirit (yours and NCL's). LOL

I do have to add....

We all now know that you couldn't possibly be a grandmother, or the mother of 20 something year olds. What else have you been lying to us about ? :D

Kim,

Another water question, how deep is the adult pool? It looks like the markings on the side of the pool say 6' or deeper. Is this the case? I CAN go in the water as long as my hubby is around to "save" me. LOL

Really enjoyed all the pictures and can hardly wait until it's our turn in February.

The Spirit is not in my near future and I might never go on her, but that didn't stop me from reading and enjoying your review. Well done!:)

Thank you so much.

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I try to be as thorough as possible (even though I know I probably forgot a lot of things) because this is the information that I'm always looking for when researching for vacation. This forum has helped me tremendously when it comes to cruise planning.

Thanks for the grandmother comment. I'm a proud grandma of 2 (grandson 3 months younger than my youngest daughter and granddaughter 7 months younger). Yes, me, my daughter, and daughter in law were all pregnant at the same time. Yes, we all planned it. It was a hoot! They all keep me on my toes and feeling young. (Well, maybe not, they wear me down LOL). :p

It said 7' something...I don't recall exactly. HOWEVER...where it stated it was 6' something, my husband could stand up in it with his head above the water and he is only 5' 10". So, I think if they filled it up to the top (which they don't) then it might be as deep as they say it is. Otherwise, it's not. ;)

I just looked at one of the pool pictures and zoomed in on it (since they are high definition) and it says 7' 9" on it (but of course it's not)

Thank you so much for such an awesome review and pictures! I am even more excited to sail on the Spirit in 30 days!!!

You are very welcome. Have fun.

Thanks for doing the review and all the great pictures. What night was the Taste of India? Only 6 more weeks and we are on the Spirit!

It was on Tuesday. :)

Thanks for providing an excellent review and pictures. We will be leaving New Orleans on the 10/30 cruise. Between the Dry Dock and your review we can't wait to experience what the Spirit will offer.

You are welcome, have a blast!

Just wanted to know how you were able to take pictures @ the dolphin encounter. I have read in many reviews that they don"t let you take your own. Was the camera waterproof. Would they let me take a disposable underwater camera? (the kind that go on your wrist) Did anyone say anything to you about taking pictures?

Very nice review. In your ship reviews, one stuck out from our trip last April 4, 2011. The DIRTY WINDOWS. I posted this complaint when we returned from the Spirit. Almost every window was covered with salt. Several times while being in Galaxy of Stars viewing area the windows were Horrible. I was telling another pasenger that it wouldn't take 15 minutes a couple of times a day to clean, at least these windows. There is a walk area to go out to clean them. I know it would be much harder to clean windows at raffles on 10th floor, and other areas. Maybe your review may get some action.

:(Sorry for the bad weather in Roatan. Roatan water is to Die for.:)
