A Complete Guide for New Smoking Areas on NCL vessels

I did not say any or all smokers were dumb and I'm sure there are many smokers who are like you and do care. Unfortunately those few (some) as you say, who choose to ignore policies and or do whatever they want, seem to always gravitate towards an area that I am in. For some reason they don't feel policies apply to them.

If you're going to throw out such statements about smokers, than you should do the same about non-smokers. I don't smoke but my husband does. Many a time on cruises, I have witnessed non-smokers passing through a smoking area and making rude/crude comments and giving disgusting looks to my husband. Non-smokers seem to think that policies put into place don't apply to them and exert their own opinions on others. I understand that the one exception is the casino, but if you know that port side is the smoking side and you don't like cigarette smoke, why are you not walking through starboard side? Why do you walk on the port side just so you can make sure smokers know how you feel about it?

Gem, March, 2017...

Deck 13, Bali Hai Bar and Grill

Deck 6, Casino

Deck 6, Corona Cigar Bar

Deck 7 aft, Bliss area promenade deck.. sorry I don't recall port or starboard side (sorry, I don't smoke but my niece does and she went to this area without me!)

Annyone off Getaway recently, is smoking still permitted outside Sunset Bar on Deck 8?

Yes, but only AT the bar ( but not at the first three seats nearest the door and only under sail, not in port). Also there are chairs and tables outside the humidor lounge where you may smoke.

Anyone off the Epic lately? just for updated areas too. Thank you

Don't know about updated areas specifically. Epic is deck 7 portside, deck 15 portside at the tables/Waves pool bar, the cigar lounge, casino during active play -may be a small no smoke area in casino (don't smoke or go to casino). You will see disposal canisters on decks where smoking is permitted and ash trays on tables (unless someone moved one). This may not be 100% inclusive. No idea in haven.

Anyone off the Escape lately? Just wondering if any updated area's....

:confused:I don't think you can smoke on the waterfront in front of 5 O'Clock Somewhere anymore.

OK to smoke:

Spice2O by the bar, deck 17 Waves bar overlooking pool, that cigar lounge on 8 (it's a chamber of horrors, as bad as those old airport smoking areas that had no ventilation and overflowing ashtrays, but the furniture is comfy enough! ha) + part of the casino.

We were onboard 16 to 23 Sept. The waterfront is completely non smoking. Signs up everywhere. A couple of people lit up and and the crew were on them fast. Humidor was busy as was the area by 17 pool bar.

H2o was a place with lots of ashtrays but we also witnessed people on the dance floor with cigars and flicking the ash on the floor where kids were dancing. It took a guest to ask crew to get them to stop and at first they said 'well this is an outdoor smoking venue' when they asked show me the ashtrays then, they asked the smokers to leave the dance floor.

Hopefully' date=' they will decrease the number of whiny "I want everything my way and the heck with everyone else" posters. I don't smoke, but I'm certainly willing to be fair about sharing space. You might want to give tolerance a try.[/quote']

THIS!!!!! I don't even smoke but too many people today think they can just tell people what to do. Everyone thinks they are a prosecutor these days. I don't cry if I smell someone else's smoke as it's their right to smoke. The fact that people are posting in THIS thread about ships should be no smoking period, you're simply an idiot.

I agree on this one, I really don't understand the reason for the ban regarding e-cigarettes inside your cabin or on your balcony. For all the reasons you mentioned above....

You can actually VAPE in your cabin, as know one will be able to tell. No odor..and the steam goes away quickly.

I am sure on Epic there is cigar bar the night club and outside pool deck on one side is there any where else???

Detroitlions,

we just got off the Epic on 12/16. My wife is a smoker and we discovered the following spots in addition to what you have listed:

Deck 7 Promenade deck ( outside where the lifeboats are stored) both sides, however, there are only ash trays on one side.

My wife was also allowed to smoke in Posh, so if you are Haven or buy a Posh pass you can smoke up there in the back left corner as you exit the elevator.

The cigar lounge is located behind Maltings bar on deck 7, which makes it easy if you are at Maltings or Shakers.

You can also smoke in the casino and no one was sweating anyone that wasn't actively playing. There were plenty of folks standing around in the smoking area having a cigarette.

Regards,

Vinegarjoe

People who smoke will continue to be rude thinking they have rights as well.

Well, they do have rights as well. And most of us follow the rules set forth by the cruise line. About 90% of the boat is non-smoking so if you don't like the smoke, you can go hang out there.
