Ecstacy Heat???

Can anyone who's been on the Ecstacy recently update on the heat? Apparently the first of December it wasn't working....brrr Leaving in 11 days and hoping it has been fixed. TIA🌴🍸👙🍷🚢🌞 🍹

I too am curious about this. We have a February cruise on the Ecstacy and it's cold in Charleston in February.

Noooo........ This can't be so!

Google it. Our 12 coming up on the sixth,and have never seen/ used/ felt heat on ships. Kind of anxious myself with the cold spell we are having.

We sailed mid-December and it was really cold. On the day we boarded it was around 39 degrees.

According to our cabin steward and what we observed, there is NO heat. We immediately hopped inside our beds & even took our towels & laid them on top of us. Once our cabin steward arrived & introduced himself, we asked for bathrobes & blankets.

It was cold in the common areas as well, and took about 2-3 days going south before we were even starting to feel the warmth.

Outside my house right now it is -8 degrees so I'm used to it being cold.

I wish I had brought more long-sleeved shirts.

It was a lovely 78 degrees in Nassau though, so it was perfect.

To the OP - we're on the same cruise (January 11th) and I've heard about the lack of heat. It's still pretty warm in Florida and hopefully we won't be in the cold jet stream for very long. But I'm certainly bringing a mix of warm and cold weather clothes. Might even bring a blanket with me. Anyway - I'm usually hot on a cruise ship - so the cool temperature will be a welcome change for me. But I understand your concern.

Wow. Guess we'd better pack some warm clothes for the sea day down and back to Charleston.

The Fantasy class ships were built with no heat and just air conditioning since they were built for the Caribbean. Bring warm clothes.

If memory serves, only spirit and splendor class ships have heat.

Are any of the common inside areas heated, casino, dining rooms, etc?

We just got off Saturday! I don't think these older ships have "heat" per say as the same unit is probably used to heat and cool. It was cool when we first boarded, but it was nice by the first afternoon. It was then cool again the last sea day. But, in the summer, we normally have issues with the air not being cool enough, so I will take a little cooler air.

Yeah. All ships will have some form of heat recovery, where the bathroom exhaust and public space exhaust air is used to heat/cool the incoming fresh air. This is 20% of the space volume per hour. Also, the incoming fresh air has some form of heating, whether electric or steam, as in summer you typically cool the incoming outside air well below the desired delivery temperature to drop the humidity, and then reheat the air to the desired delivery temperature.

So does this mean the indoor areas (Casino, dining Rooms, etc.) are heated? Trying to eat dinner the first night onboard dressed in full winter gear might not be too comfortable.We've been on a dozen cruises before, but never out of Charleston during winter. Just want to be prepared.

Probably not "heated" as you would know it. There is some heating elements, but not enough to raise 30-40*F outside air to 65-70*F and make up for the heat loss of the superstructure.

Uh...no...not as cold as outside air,but not warm.
