What kinds of prizes have you won on a Carnival Cruise?

I see almost all the ships have games and challenges, both for kids, adults and families and I was wondering what kind of prizes do they give out?

And has anyone won anything on a cruise, if so, what and how?

Thanks

I met a mom and daughter once who were seasoned cruiser and spent an entire 7 day cruise they were on trying to win or obtain free things...they said they went to EVERY contest, EVERY raffle etc etc etc....in the end they had a bunch of misc. junk...pens....hats....trinkets etc and they did win one decently nice bracelet...but that being said they found it exhausting and very time consuming...most things you must be present to win and some things you must go to a few different events to win etc....so they didn't find it overly fun or worth their time but an interesting experiment to say the least...

Don't expect anything more valuable than a ship on a stick.

So I had always heard of the infamous "ship on a stick" but never actually saw one in person...so I just googled....to be fair what I had envisions in my head was some cardboard cutout taped to a yard stick kind of deal...so they ended up being much nicer then I had envisioned...now what one does with this after the cruise I can't seem to come up with but still nicer then I had imagined lol

Besides the ship on a stick and medal mentioned, you might also win a bottle of champagne (very cheap stuff). You need to participate in the various activities such as trivia, hairy chest content, mixology contest or contestant in one of the shows. We've won these.

But there are other items that can be won......

If you play Bingo you can win cash or depending on the game, you can win a free cruise. You have to pay extra for Bingo. We've won cash, no free cruise.

If you go to the art auctions you can win some free prints, some items from the gift store or you might also win credit towards a purchase too. We got these too.

Attend some of the various functions and you might get some free trinkets like glow sticks and necklaces.

We've been on cruises where the CD picked people out of the audience and made it a week long adventure for them and they would win a diamond or pearl necklace. Never been chosen for this.

Attend Raffles and you have a chance to win jewelry, or even free spa treatment or discounts (we've won free spa treatments). You have to be present to win these items.

Attend the shopping talks and you can win get some free merchandise such as tshirts, hats, bags, bracelet, even rum cakes, whatever the chatchkies are from the shops on the island.

From the shopping talk you might also get coupon to redeem at Diamond International for charm bracelet and charms when you visit the stores. We've got these a couple times, not a bad item to give to your nieces [emoji3]

There are also Black Jack and Slot tournaments in the casino. You have to pay for this, but can win a T-shirt if you qualify for the finals and if you win you get $500 in cash and many times also free entry to the Grand tournament that's held once a year, though you have to pay for the cruise. We've won a couple tshirts and came in second place a couple times for Casino polo shirt.

Some ships have special shows like the Hasbro Show. If you get selected to play a game then you have a chance to win some promotional prizes (Hasbro games in our case).

That's all that I can recall from our cruise experiences.

We went to the first sea day CD show for noobs on Conquest and won a free excursion to Maya Key in Roatan. It was pretty nice - beach resort, lunch buffet (alcohol not included) monkeys and parrots and other critters to see and interact with. Could have gone free snorkeling but we were more interested in the animals and lounge chairs in the shade on the beach.

But the other day my wife came home with a mask and snorkel and said she was gonna practice in case we got another chance to snorkel on our next cruise lol.

Oh yeah, I won a raffle for a half hour massage on our very first cruise (another line). That was pretty awesome.

Beer. Lots of beer. More beer than we could possibly drink. Winning trivia in the Red Frog pub. Seems like we couldn't lose. We kept winning those big yard of beer things. We set up pints for the entire bar a couple of evenings.

On my last Carnival cruise I won while playing Bingo. I got $130 and a bingo lanyard.

On my first Norwegian cruise I bought a bingo card packet. They gave me a ticket for a drawing. I decided to get one more packet before the bingo started, so I got another ticket for the drawing. I ended up with my name being called twice in the drawings, so I won two prizes. One prize was a ticket to the ice bar. I can't remember what the other one was. Then I also won one of the bingo games. It was probably annoying to everyone else.

Perhaps they should have enjoyed the cruise and gone to the $1 store once they got back.

DH and I have won 3 ships on a stick between us, in 12 cruises, he won a bottle of champagne, and I have one a players hat.

it's not that we don't play, we just don't care. I do love those plastic ships though.

cruise happy.
