Thank you both very much :) This Texan is looking forward to our family venture on her in the Spring! (or Spring for Texas, that is!)

I have a question please:

Re: Edge

Age and height minimums on P&O Explorer? I didn't know if they were standard across the fleet, if adults required to purchase, and a different review elsewhere I read about the pass good for 7 days (such as if cruise longer). I know my youngest loved the trapeze at Club Med as she is a thrill seeker with the Edge right up her alley :)

Also, age at which children are allowed to sign in/out of kids club.... or if at a certain age they are allowed to sign out siblings or others the parents denote as authorized.

Thank you :)

And i meant to clarify the question... are adults required to purchase if a child purchases (read a review that mentioned that - I wouldn't be one to do the activities but my children would, although the review I read said adult had to purchase for child to purchase their pass.... or something along those lines.... so I was curious)

Based on my experience on Pacific Eden adults are not required to purchase the pass. My children went on their own including my 6 year old. I certainly didn't participate!!

I have read on these boards that you have to purchase at least one adult pass so if you have 3 children you'll need to purchase one adult and two child passes (the adult passes are more expensive) but that didn't happen to us and it is not mentioned on the P&O website.

According to P&O website you need to be 6 years or older to participate and must weigh more than 20kgs to do the segway. Other activities do not have a weight restriction. My 6 year old did most of the activities although she found the laser tag challenging as she was a bit small for the gear. She also found the rock climbing too hard as she was a bit short.

Thanks! I had read the review stating about the adult pass with child, but could not find it on their website. I also have not been able to see exactly which activities are on the new ship but didn't know if they were the same as the P&O website of Edge fleet wide. My luck something would be different LOL. That is EXCELLENT to hear about your 6 year old!! Mine are really excited - we did Liberty of the Seas on RCCL which had a ton of activities, so she is looking forward to this one :)

I'd like to know about the Penthouse suite. Can't find much info anywhere, what's included, what if any reno's are being done, etc. Our cruise is in October and would like to know what to look forward to.

We too have booked a Penthouse suite in Oct but can't find actual information on them? I know there are 4 PT Suites on the Pacific Explorer, I asked P&O and they just directed me to the Penthouse page on the other ships...

Why no Luke Mangan Salt Grill. A lot of people go away for a special occasion.

Luke Mangan was a great restaurant to celebrate special occasion .

Tried the "taste of Salt" last week.

The evening started at 6pm in the blue room where we were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine and then escorted to a tastefully decorated dedicated curtained dining room located in the waterfront restaurant. A group photo was taken which was presented to each diner included in the $99 cover charge.

Seven courses were served with matching wines. The food was of a high standard and the wines excellent. Every diner had a smile by night's end.

We also received a complimentary invitation for a galley tour the next day.

For me, this was one of the many highlights of the cruise and highly recommend it.

Note that it's best to book early in person at Angelo's restaurant between 8am and 4pm.8d0a4315f71768ffa6af97235a423a20.jpg648a31dad9d8c23f2a95642f45d584a6.jpg50d6e67fe9dd304c617e5bf2a7a6e0f1.jpg914f62afc155d5fe16d53b2fcf0526c9.jpg

For people interested in the love riot show.

The "dinner and show" starts in a separate curtained off area in the waterfront restaurant (not the same place as taste of salt) where a three course meal is served. bae79585a26823460ae3b140d7f9e6f8.jpg

The food itself was not very good. The bisque was over reduced and over seasoned (no one on our table of six could stomach it lol), the pate was very dense and claggy to the palate and the dessert so sickly sweet could not be finished by anyone. However the beef rib was ok and the scallops were good. The shortcomings of the food was counteracted by the excellent presentation, 3da6bd52428eafddf5e3d6b15cc4c514.jpg service, and the excitement generated by the cast of the show (the great wine list helped too).

After the meal we were lead to the black circus in a procession by the cast of the show. I won't spoil any surprises so I will just say it was a loud and fun parade. ...

The first two rows of seats were reserved for us and we were given our "cocktail" which quite frankly tasted like plain orange juice, but the complementary glass was great!

The show was excellent . Full of energy, fun and very entertaining.

I don't want to spoil any surprises about the show so won't go in to any details. In my opinion it is definitely worth seeing and even with average tasting food,

I reckon it's still worth doing the full package for $29.00.

Hello, I would really like to know what specific activities make up the Edge pass on the Explorer. At this stage Cruise Control just says up to 19 activities. This isn't quite enough information for my teenagers to decide if it is worth the investment. First time cruising, so no idea how I actually find out this information. Thanks in advance.

I am also interested in the edge and how it works. Assume there are limited times that activities are avail able and that you need to book. How hard is it to book? Do you have to waste a lot of time waiting in line etc. Are there enough sessions that everyone gets to do everything that they want? Don't want to outlay x4 to find out that you can't do activity because it is fully booked.

Booked in for a cruise on Pacific Explorer its our first time and wondering about the optional drinks packages.

Is Coffee and juice available(in fare price) at mealtimes (eg from the pantry)

If it is included does anyone know what "Espresso Coffee" mentioned in the refreshment drinks means - is this a better or different coffee?

Also if you get the Refreshment Drinks Package can you get soft drinks and coffee from all bars and restaurants or are some excluded?
