Looking for AI beach day with good snorkeling in Cozumel

No sandy beach will offer good snorkeling - the sand and waves cloud the water and there's no rocks/reefs for the little fish to thrive in.

You might consider stopping first at the Money Bar for an hour or two of good snorkeling from the shore (no beach, you enter the water via steps) and then heading to the beach club of your choice.

Mitsugirly is a frequent poster who has a photo intensive review of her recent day starting at Money Bar an then finishing at Paradise Beach (not AI). MB charges no admission fee, offers good facilities, lockers, etc. as well as good food/drinks/service.

Another vote for the Money Bar for snorkeling. You can stop there, snorkel and see if you just want to stay there for the day. If not, you can grab a cab to one of the AIs.

If you want to just go to one place, you might want to check out Playa Uvas. The snorkeling is not as good as Money Bar, but it is decent and there is a lot more sand/beach area. It's about 3/4 mile south of Money Bar.

They have a $15 package that includes snorkel gear rental and a guided tour. The $37 option you get an open bar.

The have a package that includes food from a limited menu, but we prefer to just order what we want from the restaurant. It's usually cheaper than what the AI food cost is.

To repeat what has already been said you can’t have a AI “beach” day AND snorkeling. Playa Uvas is probably your best compromise.

Sky Reef has similar “sandy area” with loungers set up as Money Bar but does offer AI packages. Money Bar did used to offer packages but not advertised any more - you could email and ask.

Buccanos offers small sandy area, snorkeling, pool but PAYG with entry fee.

Hotel Cozumel has AI day pass but again no real sandy beach, ironstone Shore, but I have only looked around.

Other sandy beach clubs offer snorkeling via a boat excursion.
