Buying wine when they have the BOGO

I'm sure we did this on one of our cruises but I honestly can't remember how it worked. Have any of you done it recently?

Unfortunately they don't allow bottles of wine!

I've heard of it being done with two splits of Champagne. Never tried that myself so can't guarantee it works.

A couple of years ago we were able to get 2 small bottles of Korbel champagne. I don't remember if they had to open 1 of bottles at the bar.

As for the beer... One could always have some of those plastic bottle caps and just stick them on the beer right away. All you would lose is the initial "pssssssssst" when the beer was opened. You could then take them back to your cabin and stick them in the refrigerator. On our last cruise they were fine with only opening one of the beers. Anybody who actually drinks beer would be unhappy with forcing someone to open one of them "early".
