Guys i've added my video of the Star departing Portside on Saturday to youtube.

HERE'S a link :) I've pointed out Mac & Trudy (Mac37) in the video for the other CCers to 'meet' them :)

You can see a lot of damage to the hull on both sides - rather disappointing, but hey, at least she's sailing! :D

I've added a couple more videos to the wonderful world of YouTube :)

The first one is SouthAussie100's sailaway video. I've also added it to her "Last Post" thread.

The other one is a little timelapse video I had a bit of a play with last week when the Pacific Star was sailing back to Brisbane in bad weather.

Both vids are great. I think the URL's in your post got a bit mucked up when I tried to click on them. But I finally found them at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frAWIhRDLd4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXGpoZhiRr8

By the way, the ship's whistle in the sailaway is fantastic.

I am not trying to be parochial, just want to highlight just how special Sydney Harbour is for a sailaway.

Yesterday, I noticed that Dawn Princess was departing San Francisco, so I figured it was an ideal time to capture the ship as it sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge.

I have seen & read so much of this from the other side of the Pacific, of how special this departure is. I am sure all departures are great, but compared to Sydney Harbour with the Coathanger, Opera House, Pinchgut etc - I just hope we appreciate that we have it as good as it can be. I will probably get the SF departure edited this week for comparison.

Looking forward to sailing out under the Harbour Bridge on Sun Princess, where there is only a 4 metre gap between the two.

Cheers

Well said, Geoff!

I totally agree. Sydney is a spectacular harbour. I enjoy taking videos of it. We're lucky to have it.

I thought you might be interested in this video I did of Emerald Princess in Venice. I'm going to let the people on the Princess board know, but I thought I'd share it with everyone here too.

It's a bit longer than usual because she was in port for over 48 hours.

No doubt about you Neil, you just keep out-doing yourself :D

Thanks so much for that video! What a busy harbour!!

It was so surprising to see the other 3 cruiseliners sitting there when she pulled in! The most we ever see is 1 cruise ship and a few container ships LOL!

Hi this is the link to our video

Charlie Girl, I was able to view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF0J11nGXQ0

CC doesn't let you embed shockwave stuff, which is why your post appeared the way it did.
