Discuss Implementation of Smoking Policy

We sailed on the Regal twice, for a total of over five weeks. Last time was over a year ago. My wife loves to play the slots, I don't gamble but go down with her often and also walk through the casino from time to time. She had remarked that she thought the casino on the ship was smoke free, which was first time she had ever experienced no stench of stale smoke in one. I agreed but it wasn't quite the case, at some slots smoking was allowed but we never saw anybody do that. No smoking at gaming tables anytime and on some days they advertised absolutely no smoking in the casino.

Thank you for this info. I don't mind if it is allowed in places of the casino - I'm glad there are people who have experienced a "smoke-free-feeling"...as maybe I'll be lucky enough to as well :)

... Worst case I suppose is, at least on formal nights I'll be ok.

Sapphire princess , my Father in law is interest where you can smoke on this ship please?

We sailed Sapphire Princess out of Singapore in March 2016.

Smoking areas were:

- Churchill lounge (closed of area with full service bar)

- Nightclub (designated area of the bar, after 10pm)

- Casino (designated slot machines, not on formal nights)

- Tradewind bar (on one side of the bar)

- Promenade deck (Outside, next to club fusion, I believe starboard)

Maybe we missed one, but these are the ones we know of :-)

Enjoy your cruise!

My wife and I are going on the Crown Princess in a month and she's pregnant so naturally we want to avoid the smoking areas. I don't think we will be spending much time in the nightclub due to it being a New York to Quebec City cruise, however we do plan on being in the Casino, theatre, and other areas. Any insight on what to avoid would be appreciated.

My experience on the Crown last year was that the smoke was *thick* in the casino, and you could smell it outside the casino for a good distance.

just wondering where the smoking area's are on the Royal princess, sailing in March. Also I heard that although you can buy cigarettes in the gift shop, the ship treats that purchase similar to alcohol. meaning you don't get to have those cigarettes you just purchased in your possession until after the cruise. Is this true? why sell or buy what I'm not able to use?

You can buy individual packs of cigarettes at bars for $4 a pack.

I would like to know the areas too on Carribean Princess.

On Caribbean Princess in January (2017 for 22 days) smoking was allowed inside at Churchill's (the cigar bar deck 6 forward ... in front of Princess Threater) and in a limited part of the Casino (except on formal nights).

The outside smoking area was on deck 16 (port ... forward ... beside the Tradewinds bar up there). There was a small "on the wall silver smoking box" on deck 7 at the exit (starboard side) before entering Club Fusion.

As of May 2017:

Deck 16 - Port side of Tradewinds Bar, Midship (Tables and Chairs) - Covered

Deck 17 Starboard aft (One bench outside the doors near the Teen Center) - Not covered

Deck 7 Starboard aft (Two chairs outside Club Fusion)

So no more smoking near any pools? Tradewinds Bar is not near a pool? Never have sailed Princess but I see that some suites are all alone AFT so I would expect some folks smoke on their balconies there since the smoke would only blow backwards??and you have no close neighbors except forward???never have seen a ship with only two aft suites...thanks

There will be a smoking area on the sun deck aft of the pool area - near the bar. Also, there will likely be a smoking area on the promenade deck. Both are small and easily avoided. Smoking in the Casino on Princess varies - it may be allowed some nights at some of the slot machines. Smoking is limited to active players but this is not well enforced. Bottom line, you may encounter unpleasant and hazardous levels of smoke in the casino at some times.

I smoke and cruise. Next cruise in Jan 2018 on Ruby Princess. So as not to offend the non smoker where is smoking allowed on the outside decks. I know the casino which can be pretty smoky for me.

Usually one spot on an upper deck and a small standing only spot aft on the Promenade Deck (7). Both outdoors.

But things change so best to check when you are on board.
