Kim- we will be on almost the same itinerary in July with 3 teenages. Would you recommend Goff's caye over other excursions? They might be interested in cave tubing but you never know with three teenage girls.

Thanks and hope your nursing courses are going well!

So where was I?

We pulled back up in port and Sakari reminded us that she still wanted her peacock. The hubby took $26 and headed to the shop with Sakari and her sad puppy dog eyes/face and told them that is what we had left over after returning from our excursion. They accepted it. We were happy. They were happy. Sakari was super happy.

I'm honestly not sure if they really do hand make those (you get this story in a lot of ports and will find them online, being made in other countries, for dirt cheap). I did try to look for one of these and couldn't find this exact type. There were other beaded peacocks, but none with the tail with this much detail. Although I didn't spend a lot of time searching. The few that I did find that was anywhere close to this said $51. So, I would like to think we got somewhat of a deal.

We looked around for a little bit, got some drinks and headed to catch the tender at 3:30pm. There were no lines at all. We got on and away we went. Once we pulled up to the ship and was walking up the ramp, one of the tender workers yelled at my husband "Hey, let me have your hat! I want that hat so bad! Please!!!" I'm looking at my husband like "are you serious?" He laughed and told them "come get it", took it off and the worker ran all the way off the boat from the top floor, down to the first, the up the ramp around people. LOL He must have wanted it pretty bad. (It was a bmx hat). I guess he made someone's day in Belize.

Once on the ship, we headed to our room to shower and get clean clothes on. We had a little bit of time before the Asian restaurant would be opening and for some reason, I decided that's what I wanted.

We hung out on the deck and watched the sun go down and the ships pull out.

At 5:30 when the Asian restaurant opened, there was a bit of a line already. They immediately got everyone in one-by-one and pretty quickly.

Thanks and glad you are enjoying the review and pictures. :)

You are very welcome and glad you are enjoying it. Have a wonderful time on the Jade tomorrow. I hope you make it to Goff's Caye. I'm not sure why you said "if that's possible". If you are not booked, I'm pretty sure you can just go to the desk and ask to book once you get off the ship. They usually take walk-ups. :)

Oh sorry - that was oddly worded! LOL I meant I'm not sure if it's even possible for me to be any more excited than I already am! We do have reservations - like you, using Island Marketing. Thanks again!

The food came and we ate it all. Sakari and I shared my order and she enjoyed it too. There's one thing that she likes and that's chinese/asian food.

After dinner, Sakari headed up to the kids club. Once again, for some reason she really didn't want to go. This is so weird for her. She usually begs to go there and doesn't want to leave. She agreed to go if she could take her drawing pad and I had to promise to tell the counselors that she wanted to draw while she was in there. We struck this deal and in she went.

We headed to the casino to try our luck for a little bit before the show tonight.

We played our favorites..

I won $20.90 right from the start...which happen to be .90 over doubling my money. Woo hoo.

IMG_3673%20copy-L.jpg

The weird thing was, I never seen anyone of the following machine...like ever. If I ever got low on money, I could head to this machine and I would at least win enough money to start again by playing this game.

This would be a nice little win (that hit about 3x) and got me back up in order to go back over and play some of my fav's again.

IMG_3675%20copy-L.jpg

It's another flippin tornado...that tornado brought in $87.40 on this spin.

IMG_3674%20copy-L.jpg

Pixie gave me a small win tonight, which is good enough for me.

IMG_3662%20copy-L.jpg

The hubby did super good and won a little over $300 tonight. Although he gets super excited, he's not like me and pulls out the camera for pictures. Whoops. I don't have him trained on that yet.

Tonight was a show with Yuriy and Iryna in Soul Duo, which are an acrobat couple. I love these kind of shows and they did not disappoint. However, either I have seen this show a few times before with them or they have other people that do the exact same show. Either way, they are super amazing and a great show.

P2230419%20copy-L.jpg

After the show, we headed to pick up the munchkin from the kids club and she was happy that she was able to draw tonight and she also played games as well.

We took my memory stick to the Internet Cafe so that I could try to work on my paper. However, I quickly learned that the computers on the ship do not have microsoft word on them. They only have viewer. I almost didn't even bring my small computer. Now, I'm so glad I did.

Since that was a total wash we decided to get some ice cream before heading to the room. Ice cream makes everything better. Well...at least until I got to the room it did.

We opened the door...and we had a monkey waiting for us.

P2230423%20copy-L.jpg

For some reason my mind went straight to the beach towels. Did we have them this time? Nope, we sure didn't. URGRRRRHHHHHGGGG! I immediately called guest services who said they would send someone up with them. I was not about to sit around waiting for a delivery in the morning and postpone our port time again. I waited for over an hour and nothing. I called again and let them know that I had been waiting over a hour AND we needed to get to bed and I didn't appreciate having to wait AND that this is not the first time that our room steward decided not to leave us towels and I was getting highly upset about it. Quite honestly, they really didn't act concerned about it and just said "we'll send someone" again.

I decided I wasn't going to waste time (well, I really wasn't wasting time, I was working on my school paper on my laptop) waiting for someone to show up. I headed for the shower and found that we were also missing a regular towel, the towel they use for the floor mat was not there tonight and we only had 2 wash cloths. Man this just keeps getting better. Then I went to throw something in the trash and this is what it looked like...

P2230424%20copy-L.jpg

LOL. Seriously? Is Rasfah in that big of a hurry or actually doing this on purpose at this point? I really wondered.

So after all this, I started carefully looking around and THIS TIME...I know for a fact that Rasfah DID go into our refrigerator. How do I know this? Because the Mt Dew that was in it cold was now removed and put down with the rest of the stuff we removed from there on day one. I guess he didn't like that I had not replaced that diet Pepsi yet that he decided he would replace it with something else? Last time I checked Mt Dew is not one of the items you will find in the stocked fridge.

Someone came with our pool towels in about 10 minutes after calling the second time and we all headed to bed.

Yep that's it (and the same one that's in my link). :)

Honestly it all depends on what the teens would like to do. Do they love the beach and can't get enough? Do they like snorkeling? Do they like the more adventurous stuff like hiking in the forest and tubing? I think I would ask them which they would prefer. You could even show them pictures and see which they prefer. It's just so hard to tell with kids because they are all different. :)

What a magnificent review!!!!

Thanks for your time/effort to put this together!

We have a future cruise deposit to use' date=' and I think we'll give the Jade our business.

You and your family are adorable, BTW. :)[/quote']

I don't mean to hijack your review Mitsu, but I was on another social media account and saw an ad for this: http://m.dresslily.com/new-artist-playfully-redesigns-cozy-blankets-as-crocheted-mermaid-tails-product1211774.html

And I thought your mermaid would love it. When I googled it, it looks like you can get similar ones on other sites for cheaper.

I've seen the mermaid swim outfit before, but not this...so I thought I would share.

sorry to hear about your hassle with the room steward

Do you ever attend the meet and greet?

senior ships officers attend and give out a card with the heads of departments telephone numbers with requests to contact them in case of problems

When we have had an issue that room steward or guest services are slow to respond to a call to head of housekeeping has worked instant results!

Is the only way of getting beach towels, from your room steward? I thought I read somewhere a while ago you could get some on the pool deck? I feel this is something that would irk me if they weren't left for us.

Kim, I think you were too quiet!

Your reviews are the best. I feel like your talking directly to me sharing your cruise experiences. The details that you give make me feel like I was there with you.

You have a lovely family and your daughter is the cutest mermaid that I have ever seen :) Your husband gave you the best gift ever!!

Happy Belated Birthday and thanks for always sharing your cruise experiences.

Kim, I'm loving your review and looking forward to the daily update. Sakari looks adorable in the mermaid tail and it sounds like she truly believes that she has morphed into one! No cruise for me until the end of May so I'm living vicariously with your report:) The Jade looks like a great ship, but your steward needs to be replaced! Looking forward to the next update -

Sandy

Great review as usual.

Thanks for detailing your beach day in Cozumel as well. We're headed there again in June and will be in port docked for 2 days. We're planning to do Mr. Sanchos again on one of the port days but weren't so sure about our second day. Your pictures are amazing.

Also, the Belize beach excursion looked amazing as well. I'd read about that company before but wasn't so sure about what they offered based on lack of reviews.

All caught up.

I totally love the mermaid tail. That is the cutest thing. I knew they made them for adults but I didn't know they did for kids too.

I have had that issue with the time changing on my iphone several times. I assume you have an iphone too? I know several people who have them that have had that same thing happen. It's super annoying. It's done it both in the Caribbean and in Alaska too. I got a new one in Oct and the last cruise I took (In Feb) it did not change so maybe the upgraded versions are better now?

Your stateroom host is just awful. I totally understand how you just don't feel like reporting him. But now that you are home I would write an email to NCL and let them know.

I totally understand not wanting to report your steward while you are there because he has the key to everything you own and could really mess with your vacation if he wanted. There was no way to lock him out or be safe if he got mad. I was thinking about how it feels to have someone be able to walk in to your private life any time he wants. I agree that now that you are home you need to write and report him so that next time he doesn't go too far and really abuse a cruiser. He was totally over the top.

Thanks for looking out for me. I have seen that before, but with it being crocheted, she wouldn't be able to swim in it. (I'll let you in on a little secret, I bought her another mermaid tail for her birthday coming up AND I found that they also sold mermaid blankets and bought one of those. They are called cuddle tails http://cdn.finfunmermaid.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/small_image/295x/040ec09b1e35df139433887a97daa66f/m/e/mermaid-tail-blanket-fuchsia-teal_1.jpg) :D

Hey Kim, just found this thread, happy late late birthday!! Sukari is rowing up before our eyes into a beautiful young lady. I love her mermaid outfit. Can't wait to read the rest of your review......Patiently waiting.....

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Yea, she's growing up a little too fast for me.

No, there wasn't enough time to get involved with the meet & greet since it was such a last minute thing. I did join the social media site but was so busy packing, trying to tie up lose ends with work and last minute planning that I really didn't have a chance to "connect" with others. I "normally" attend them all and on most, I have actually been the planner for our sail group. :(

Yes, you can get beach towels from up at the pool, but that requires you to sign them out, use your room card (because now it would mean that you are signing out extra towels and will have to pay for them if they are not returned back there). I just didn't want the hassel of that either and if something was to happen to one of them...I'd be screwed and have to pay $25 for those cheap things.

Yea, I probably was too quiet.

Yes, I have an iphone, but have the latest one, so that can't be it. I will just make sure I have my watch on while on the ship as well. I usually only wear my watch during port days so that I'll be able to have something that I can tell time and swim in. I learned my lesson this time. LOL
