I was thinking of getting a resort day pass but we are there for such a short time, that I don't feel it's worth it. Our ship arrives at 7am and departs at 1pm. My boyfriend has never been to the Bahamas before, I have been three times. I remember the area around the ship isn't so great and when I've gone there before it was many many years ago to Atlantis when it wasn't so popular and then the other times to swim with dolphins. Am I missing something that could be fun? Is Atlantis even maybe worth it just to walk around?

You can't just walk around Atlantis, just the casino and marina village. You could do a walking tour, or hang at a public beach for a few hours, go to the zoo, rum distillery....

We did the Rum Walking Tour from Islandz Tours Nov 2016 and had a great time. You can walk to the meeting location from the ship, it's not far at all. The tour consists of walking around right in that area to some amazing places that you didn't even realize were right under your nose. The guide gives you great history all while getting tons of rum!

We were there last week, from 8:30-2:30, also a short day. We were planning a beach day at Junkanoo but after speaking to someone at the port we decided to charter a boat. This turned out to be our best port day! Our captain was wonderful as he took us around showing us the sights, and then we spent an hour snorkelling. After snorkelling he brought us to a private island for another hour of beach time. He kept a close eye on the time and made sure that we were back at the port with more than enough time to shop and make it back.

The area around the British Colonial Hilton is good. Have tea there, take in the Pirates Museum, shop on Bay St.

Or go to Watlings Rum Factory and Graycliff Hotel (for Chocolates and Cigars).

How much did this cost? I am looking for something for my four friends to do while in port in March. Our other port is NCL's private island so we don't have to worry about spending much while there so we can do a little more here.

We paid 70$ per person. Snorkelling équipement was included and very clean. Refreshments were included. The gentleman took photos of us and shared them on Facebook for us to enjoy. He was very observant of the time so that we never lost track of time. Well worth it.

How many people does he require at $70 each? Please tell me how to get in tough with him. Thanks

Not sure what type of activity you are looking for. Junkanoo Beach (free public beach) is walking distance from the cruise port. There are restrooms there and also vendors selling food and drinks.

This sounds perfect for my husband, 13 year old grandson and me. Will you please share how you got in touch with the captain? On the ship? or independently online? or at the port of call? I want to be sure we do it safely. Thanks so much for sharing this experience.
