Love the Getaway and the service we received. We just returned from the Getaway today. Book entertainment and specialty restaurants prior to sailing. If there is something you want to experience in the Atrium arrive early always packed in there. The pool area is busy but we never had a problem finding a chair. During the Mr sexy Legs it was extremely packed and hard to find a place to stand. If you go to the complimentary dining and their is a particular waiter you enjoy you have the option to request them. We did and had tremendous service. The one thing I noticed that changed from the last time we were on the Getaway was they don't give you a slip to tip your waiter but there is a machine on board to break bigger bills so you are able to tip of you choose too

I've never cruised with NCL before...going on Getaway on the 14th with my husband and kids (4.5 and 8 months). Is it true kids aren't allowed in the main pool? I know with RC that was never an issue, my daughter was able to play in the main pools. I can't find much info on it, and I see the kids side doesn't have much besides a few sprinklers.

There is a family pool you both can go in, but not the adult pool. The family pool is near the kids splash area. The hot tubs are also labeled as adult or family. And anyone still in diapers or swim diapers is not allowed in family pool or splash area.

Wife and I booked for Next year but have never cruised NCL before. What are some of the best and worst things about the getaway? What are some things we have to try and what do we need to avoid?

Just got off last week. The specialty restaurants were great. We didn’t care for moderno (the Brazilian steakhouse) and saw it as a waste after the fact. Cagneys and Teppaniaki were both great and shouldn’t be missed. O’sheehans was also good especially for snack food. The main dining room service was slower but the food was alright. If your into thrill rides do the water slides. They are awesome. Never needed a reservation for the comedy show as the standby line always got in. The casino is very smoky and the smoke smell will tend to spread through the 6-7-8 ocean place atrium. We never saw the theater shows but heard great things about both. AVOID paying for the iConcierge app as it didn’t work and was unnecessary. Overall a great ship. You will have lots of fun.

That’s not good about the iconcierge app. I am boarding tomorrow and was planning on using that to stay connected with family members onboard.
