So cute. My husband has fond memories of his pet goat....until it grew larger and butted his dad in the butt. Off to a friends farm went his goat.

The Florida Agriculture Museum, which is just north of Palm Coast, is going through a rebirth. The bad leaders are gone and a new bunch is turning the place around.

Judith and I are going to get re-involved with it as our time permits.

Anyone close enough to visit should go by and check it out.

Hope you’re going to add a couple of baby goats to your family! They are very cute, probably at least until they get older...

Raising mini goats or donkeys or horses is a lot of work.

This graphic about a dog applies to just about all animals.

Buddy, the mini horse (that we donated to the museum years ago) has gone lame and been given to a rescue lady to, hopefully, be nursed back to good health.

When I told Judith about Buddy, her first comment was that "they" probably didn't trim his hooves properly and often enough.

Here is a photo of a rescued mini horse that was neglected for 10 years. He could hardly walk because of his un-trimmed hooves.

When our house sells and we have some extra money we will probably donate one male and two or three female pygmy goats to the Museum. Judith knows how to properly care for them but is too old to do it by herself. She could easily train volunteers and the Museum on how to care for them and we could visit them as often as we liked.

Yesterday was a crazy day but ended well.

Early this past week I called Palm Coast Imaging and made an appointment to have the MRI of my liver that my radiologist had ordered Friday morning at 8 am. Of course the requirement was that I have nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before. (No morning coffee) When I showed up they told me that the appointment was for the coming Monday morning so I will have to go back then.

I spent the day doing little things around the house and in the afternoon we starting getting ready to go to the PC Yacht Club Dinner.

All of a sudden, all of the smoke detectors in the house went off.

We immediately checked the entire house for smoke or a burning smell and there was nothing. I went outside and walked around the house checking the roof and eves for smoke. Nothing! So I dialed 9-1-1 and explained our problem and after telling them that there was no smoke or flames evident and they said they would end someone to check things out.

A few minutes later a Fire Truck and three firemen showed up.

The guys were super nice and one of them walked through the entire house with a small instrument which was checking for smoke and carbon monoxide. Again, nothing!

So when the firemen were finished and left, we headed up to Palm Coast and had a great dinner with our friends from the Yacht Club.

Tomorrow we are heading up to Palm Coast for brunch and afterwards we will go by Home Depot and I will buy new, modern smoke detectors to replace all of the ones we have. I want the deluxe kind that shout, Fire, Fire, Fire or, Carbon Monoxide, and tell us when the batteries are low.

I would recomend Nest Protect it's both a Smoke and Carbon Monoxide. They all conect with WiFi.

I will check them out.

I have Kiddie brand and they are great. We have 2 story house with basement and you can place them anywhere you want. Have one over furnace in basement and at least 2 on each level. One goes off and they all go off. Original builder had electric ones on main floor and upstairs .. nothing in basement near furnace. Always bothered me if fire started in basement the house would be engulfed before smoke detector on first floor would go off.

Remember that you MUST have wifi for those dependent on it to work properly. If you have outages for any reason, then they would NOT be working.

That is an incorrect statement. They will still work. See the following.

The only thing the WIFI does is send you mobile alert if there is a problem.

I had a few projects planned for today and got them all done.

- Finished setting out the pavers around the chicken cage

- Got the chicken feed hauled to the chicken house and put into the storage cans.

- Cut the grass in front of the house outside of the front fence.

Tomorrow I will haul all of the trimmings from the two large crepe myrtle bushes in front of the house out to the road and leave them for the county to pick up.

Over all, a good day...
