Things I'd Like to See NCL Offer

  • Higher end wines available by the glass (even with a UBP upcharge)
  • American sports in the bars
  • Water bottle fillers around the ship (kind of like the ones they have at gyms and airports)
  • An actual Irish Beer on tap in O'Sheehans (or at least something better than Stella)
  • Stop the beach towel accounting
  • Free room service for breakfast or allow us to use one of our SDP choices to get free room service all week

Yes, love all the ideas, especially room service as an SDP choice! You can get free 'continental' breakfast for room service. You have to go to the service desk and ask for the door hangers, they'll try to give you 2 maybe 3 so you'll have to ask for the number of cruise days. Our last cruise was 11 days and he seemed a bit taken back when I asked for 11 of them, I said you can provide them all now or I'll just be back each evening. Most days this is our breakfast, fruit, juice, coffee, baked goods, you can also order cold cereal. We usually only eat breakfast in cafe or dining room on sea days.

71 days until my next adventure!

I love the ideas of rotating adult dining hours - families should be able to make memories, but it's not fair to other diners to make them listen to your infant screeching all through dinner, or to overhear the temper tantrum that ensues after you stop your 4 year old from running laps around the table. (Cagneys last week, all in the same meal. Big fun.)

I'd also love afternoon shows on sea days - I always have big plans and book evening entertainment that I miss because I just can't stay awake after a day of fun...so, we miss things.

Awesome feedback! What I loved about my Holland America cruise was adult only aft pool. Albeit many parents ignored that and I consistently had to go to officers to have them removed. Especially after teenagers took over the pool and had the nerve to smart off to a lady in her 70s trying to get out via the ladder. NCL Escape did a wonderful job keeping children out of Spice H20 it was fabulous!

yes or some other show in the afternoon like a comedy show or something. the afternoon on sea days is always a bit dull with not that much entertainment going on.

NCL Escape has a comedy theater and then late night it becomes a dueling piano bar, it was the highlight each night to attend! I believe it was NCL Pearl trip we did have a comedian on board 1 night only though.

Would love to see behind the scene tours on sea days. NCL offers as an excursion and charges, that is disappointing. Holland America offers them for free for the galley and the entertainment staff with Q&A. You get a free one at the Platinum level, we're about 1 or 2 after this summers away and looking forward to that perk.

Since the Haven rooms are so expensive, looking for a kids sail free in the Haven. And children’s portions (not the kiddy menu) in specialty restaurants like Cagney’s.

Isn’t it already offered under the friends and family promo?

I'd love to see NCL make improvements to their online facilities pre and during the cruise.

While ok, NCL.com can be buggy at times and a bit hit and miss with the features available to passengers.

The concept of the new Cruise Norwegian app is better than the iConcierge aoo, as it can be used pre the cruise, but is still only available on one ship to date.

NCL are a fab cruise line and their online services could do with a little TLC to make the experience even better.

They didn't even try on our Epic cruise, filled with children.

It’s a little harder to police on the Epic as access to the basketball court etc is via Spice. That isn’t to say that they shouldnt police better inside, but they can’t stop kids from entering.

On our last Epic cruise there was a large group onboard and a couple of times they had a private function in Spice. There were problems when the self appointed bouncer at the entrance was trying to stop people getting past, who were heading upstairs to join a NCL activity up there.

Wow I didn’t realize how many people actually steal the beach towels.

Interesting.

I wish NCL had more interactive things to do during the day, I am not a fan of towel folding or cake decorating presentations.

I also agree with the person who suggested being able to preorder sodas to the cabin. I used to bring a 12 pack of Pepsi with me even though I had the UBP and the casino drink card.

I also wish they would bring back smoking on the balconies, at least on one side of the ship.

Specialty Restaurants with dining hours for Adults only on a rotating basis so those wanting a quiet romantic dinner can do so! For Example: 1st night of cruise it could be Cagneys after 7 pm is for adult diners only, 2nd night it could be Ocean Blue after 7 pm. (before I'm accused of disliking children.....I have raised 24 foster children and 4 of my own, worked in a middle school and I adore children and I think its terrific that parents are doing cruises and creating memories with their children.) But, you can't ask children to be adults and sit quietly for an extended period and it would be terriffic to have a romantic atmosphere for other cruisers who are without children.

Never thought of that, but what a good idea. We also had foster children, adopted 2 of our 3 kids, and at our age are still doing volunteer work at our elementary school, so obviously we are among those who enjoy children. That being said, yes, there are times and places for kids and times and places where adults need to be without them.

What age limit would you have? Our son is 12 and we certainly expect him to sit quietly when we eat (and he doesn’t let us down).

I did take him to Le Bistro last cruise, as my wife isn’t a fan. The staff seemed quite surprised to see someone his age there. They said they get very few kids there, and I don’t recall seeing many in the past. In fact, I wouldn’t say I recall seeing many kids in the speciality restaurants at all. More often than not there are none (or just one if we have taken our son).

I’m not particularly disagreeing with you, by the way, just not sure how much of an issue this is. Maybe it’s more a location thing (we tend to cruise in Europe mostly).

It must be the location as we have seen a number of kids in Le Bistro, as well as Cagney's and some have been obviously bored. With rare exception the parents have done a great job of keeping them under control. Still young children and LeBistro do not go well together.

thought not a specialty coffee drinker, I still wish they did offer a coffee plan for those who would be interested.

better lounge area around pools and yes, better policing of vacant lounges. Better facilities for mobility challenged cruisers around the pool, including easier access to the pools instead of no ramps for the adult pools.

a few more and better port talks, not just trying to sell us everything they have on the next port.

for sure better sports coverage, at least in one of the bars.

Self service soda fountain machines at the buffet and not only the strange „juices“/iced tea. It‘s not nice to first get the food from the buffet, search a table and then go back to the bar to get the beverages. In the meantime the food is cold.

Same for the pool area. I dont‘t like to stay 10 minutes at the cocktail queue to get a pesi or beer.

More unique/longer cruises.

My first cruise was a 7-day Eastern, then a 7-day Western. We had a 10-day Southern on the Gem cancelled a week out so we last-minute booked with Princess. The actual cruise was different but it opened my eyes to the different itineraries other cruise line operators have.

We're back with NCL on the Dawn for a 10-day, but it really seems like there aren't too many variations in itineraries - and 10 days is just the right amount. I'd like to see more 9-11 day cruises.

I am not unhappy so much with the variation, but I do agree. However, my complaint is not enough new ports. Most every port they do has been around forever. I would love to see something a little different. As for the itineraries other lines offer I have to disagree with you there. Most of them are repeats as well. one really neat itinerary we were on was down the Atlantic coast on Princess repo about 4 years ago.

I wish NCL does the longer 10-14 day cruises out of NYC in the Spring/Fall like what they do during the Winter months.

Never had an issue with the beach towels, we always toss ours in the bin after an excursion and grab new, and no one counts... so I think some people sure have had different experiences there.

I’d love a coffee card, or even better to have lattes and the like included with ubp, they are like half the price of a fancy drink that is covered.

I like the idea of 12 and up after 7 pm at the specialty restaurants. Unfortunately we would never get to partake, because my daughter likes to go to teen club as soon as it opens for the evening, so we eat at 5:30. I would like the specialty restaurants to open at 5 instead of 5:30, so Dd didn’t have to rush to leave at 6:50. She likes good food, and the kid's menus were never appealing.

I’d like more caffeine free, non-diet choices to drink. I get bored with just sprite or 7-up or whatever it is. Miss being able to bring our own sodas and juices.

1. No bidding for suites. It's better if they sell them for a decent price without bidding.

2. One formal dining option. (That's not less Freestyle. More options = more Freestyle.)

3. An adults only area in the Haven.

4. One ship doing round trips from Stockholm on the Baltic Sea during the summer.

5. A longer itinerary around Hawaii with seadays.

I would like to see beer stands on the Lido deck. It's annoying to have to stand in line while they make all the fancy drinks just to get a beer.
I have bought beer from these, but maybe that's just on embarkation day.

I would love to see this too, but I'm not sure how that would work since soda isn't free.
