Uber report from LAX to San Pedro port

We had our first Uber experience today (our adult daughters encouraged us)! We left LAX at 1:50 pm and arrived at the Crown Plaza Hotel in San Pedro at 2:17 pm.

It cost $31.67 for the two of us. Traffic was fine, no major hold ups. We signed up for the "private car" otherwise it would defeat the purpose. The driver was very personable and drove safely.

Comparisons:

Execucar: $65.00

Super Shuttle $37.00 which would be shared with numerous stops.

I hope this helps with transportation questions and concerns from LAX to get on your ship in San Pedro (LA Harbor) We will be boarding the Coral Princess in the morning.;p

Keith-

You bet. I have !earned so much on CC that I wanted to contribute this.

Even though we grew up in the LA basin, this was a new adventure and effort

for us. Uber is still fairly d's so this may i form others who need to get to the

port.

Bandit,

It looks like you can get a car seat when you request your uber car but it has to be the uberX car and it is $10. You can google uber and car seats and there are step by step instructions.

Thanks cheeseclan. We will check again. When we tried that it said carseats/boosters were not available in the LA area.

Hi All!

We returned a few days ago from our PC full transit

out of LA. So I will answer the questions I can:

1) I am not sure if you can book ahead of time. However, we

just went into the app when we picked up our luggage and you have

the opportunity to make your selection and pay. So, we knew

who the driver would be, the license plate, the type of car, and the cost. The app kept

us informed of when he would be there.

2) The car was a Nissan sedan so we fit comfortably in the car with our luggage

in the back (3 carry on bags and a large bag)

3) Yes, Uber can be right there at LAX and he conveniently picked us up outside

right by luggage pick up. Very convenient. There is a sign for this. You can ask an

airport staff person where it is located.

4) Yes, you should be able to be taken directly to the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

It is just across the harbor from San Pedro.

Hope this helps!
