Final Thoughts

It was a great cruise. The group of guys has grown and grown so much over the years that you see someone everywhere you go. The Friends of Dorothy meetings had to be switched to Bliss as there were too many people for Shakers.

The casino was tighter than ever, and due to moving tables, and carpet, one side had their electrical out, so they were hand dealing and I still had no luck. This was the first time I gave up on it, and stayed out.

Posh is still my favourite place to be. It's so relaxing and you can always find shade. They have half a dozen umbrellas, you can always move to the chairs and away from the loungers and find a shady spot. I never even went upstairs the whole time.

Everything was good, the food, the people and the general atmosphere. Staff seemed happy, especially in Posh. They would be singing as they set up the bar or the furniture.

My suite was amazing. I didn't need all of that space for myself, but really enjoyed the Haven. A smaller suite would be perfect for me if I do this alone again.

Thanks so much for following along, not that many stories to tell this time, but definitely had fun and relaxed which I really needed.

For next year, the big group is splitting 3 ways. Many are doing a trans pacific on Royal, others the TA on Getaway from Copenhagen and then others TA on Epic again from Barcelona. I think I will jump on the Epic again.

It's hard to explain, but it feels like home.

Welcome home!~ Thanks so much for taking us along. We board Epic for the Christmas sailing and I'm trying to figure out whether or not to buy POSH passes. You mentioned the availability to move umbrellas to make the loungers in shade? If so, POSH is positively for me :). I see the umbrellas around the chairs, but I prefer to lounge in shade. Thanks again!!

Sally I looked for you all cruise as I wanted to meet you from reading your reviews. Never found anyone who I thought looked like your picture. I asked my friend Sara who works in the casino if she knew anyone named Sally but she did not. I did not get Posh as I was not in a suite and knew with the spa I would not use it that much.

I had terrible luck in the casino as well. Well, maybe next time. Great cruise though!

There are a couple of umbrellas near the loungers and most people are looking for sun, so you'll be good :)

Hi Marsha,

I kept asking in the casino for you. I was at the tables all the time, occasionally on slots. I'm 6'2 and blonde. I thought maybe you didn't come on this cruise for some reason. Hope you had fun!

I'm sorry embarkation was tough! Have an amazing week and check in :)

Yep, it's gonna be great!

Hypothetically, this response could be coming to you from below one of those eight umbrellas, with a refreshing beverage, and iPod tunes.

Sally,

I guess I thought your hair was brown. I knew you were tall. My son in law is 6'7" and my 5 year old granddaughter is really shooting up and I think is going to be more like him than her little brother is.

Well guess I'll see you next time. What table games do you play? I kept watching one lady at Roulette but she was a brunette and then I realized she was European. I also did not think you played Roulette.

Till next time,

Marsha

UTH, 3 Card Poker, Let It Ride and sometimes Roulette. My hair is really blonde now, after the summer, usually it's a little less so.

For sure next time. Just ask any of the table games dealers, they all know me.

I didn't see it, so my impression was meh LOL :) I'm so sorry that you're on your last day. Hate that! So excited for the beginning and so sad at the end.

One day I want to do a back to back, so I can stay onboard while everyone else is packing and having their last night.

Ask Nash for a BBC for me please :) and try to enjoy the last night!

How was the weather in the Mediterranean last year? We're on the Epic's last Med sailing at the end of October before it's TA this year and also in the Haven and wondering if it'll be too cold/ windy to enjoy the Courtyard, Courtyard Grill and Posh spaces.

The weather end of October could be a little bit chilly...

I was on Epic solo in Oct 2016 ...my son left after the Med cruise .........I too hung out at epic restaurant esp for breakfast and stretched at the pool most days .in Haven .....I liked the quiet serenity .

Were you at the dinner I organized ?The ship prepared a delicious cake for all of us ...lovely

Richard and Maggie treated me very well ...they sent ginger tea when I was sick and invited me to loads of fun stuff and took care of all my reservations ...very nice people

Epic remains one of my favorite ships

Now booked on Getaway for Baltics and Crossing ....next October ...will you be on that one too ??

Michele

On the last night I think I saw you at the table over ..I remember seing a very tall blonde lady with a group of fellows ...many I had met on Escape ....

Hi Michele

Will be on the Epic shortly.

If you could kindly answer a few questions it would be greatly appreciated . Are there shuttle buses that we have to take in Civtavecchia I heard this a huge commercial Port I was there and I can't recall how far the entrance is from the ship. I was also wondering about Livorno, I was there as well and I can't remember how far the entrance is. How often the shuttle buses run?? I don't think when you are doing private tours if these independent companies can come close to the ship for security reasons .

Thank you for your time

I took private tours from both and don.t remember ever seing any shuttles

I did take the train into Rome ...Its tough cause at Termini the Civi train is on the very very very last track ..it was unbelievably far ..think 10 big city blocks ....really far I would never do it with luggage ..it was far enough with just purchases from the day

If I remember correctly private transfers got close enough
