Just checked a 10 day southern Caribbean cruise on Nov 20th 2017. The US price for an aft balcony was $1900 (2 people). The price on the Canadian website for the same room was $2600. Exchange rate works out to $1.36CDN = $1US. Since the current bank rate is about $1.24CDN = $1US, what are Canadian cruisers doing? Are you booking on US websites? clear.png?emoji-mad-1709

We booked in USD a couple weeks ago. My credit card charges 2.5% conversion rates. Since I've been checking the rate has fluctuated between 24% and 27%, still better than NCL's conversion. We are hoping the rate will go more in our favour. A couple years ago, the rate went to about 34% by the time we made final payment and then even higher when we were on the cruise. It's a gamble, just have to decide if it's one you're willing to take.

Mine is currently booked in Canadian funds at 1.33, but the price has increased, so to convert it now would actually cost more. However, before final payment date, I will check both prices and pay in Canadian or cancel and rebook it in USD.

I booked my Greece cruise through company in Florida. US dollars. Saved 600$ There are cc that Don't charge that extra fee for conversion like marriot visa.

Just FYI - the Canadian Marriott Visa recently stopped taking applications. Not many options for CC's that don't have foreign currency conversion fees at this point...
