Vista...my observations

Nice ship. Not grand like RC ships. Friendly employees. Stateroom not kept clean like those on RC, but I'm not high maintenance, so it's ok. Our Stateroom attendant was ALWAYS working, and knew our names, which was great.

Food....nothing stood out in the MD to me, but the BBQ restaurant was very, very good, however, they are hardly ever opened and it's annoying.

I would not suggest booking a room on the 9th deck..you hear EVERYTHING from above. Also, our windows creaked....ALOT!

The sky ride was fun, scary, but fun.

As far as the pics they take(Pixels)...we had ALOT of other people's pictures on our portfolio and it was hard to find any of the other photos that were taken of us other than the ones they asked for our stateroom #.

The Serenity area was nice, but not big enough and even though it was supposed to be adults only, there were people who brought their kids. Also, the hot tub was not in the least hot.

Red Frog Brewery. Meh....

Chair Hogs...now, these are the rudest people in existence. We saw one woman going from chair to chair while keeping a towel on the other chairs. Carnival REALLY needs to enforce there chair policy. It sucks to have to wonder around the ship looking for a spot to sit in the sun. SOOOO many chair with towels, but no one in them.

A good thing Carnival does is pay tribute to our military. This was the best thing on the ship, IMO.

Would I sail again on Vista...no way, but not because of the employees, they were all hard working people, but because the ship is cramped and not spectacular.

Did you do the 6 or 8 day cruise?? On our 8 day..the barbeque was open a total of 5 days (including embarkation day)....Also since you've cruised RCL....I can understand why you felt ship was cramped and not spectacular. Thats the reason we do not cruise RCL.... Too big and too much going on. Feel like we are at a resort. Cruise feeling isn't there.

We did the 8 day. It may have been opened 5 days, but the hours were an hour and half here, 2 hours there....unfortunate.

I suggest you try a Voyager class ship on RC and let me know what you think

I'm not a loyal Royal, as you can see by my signature. I've cruised a few lines, including Carnival. My opinion is that regardless of the size of the ship, no cruise line moves people better than Royal.Except for show times, they never feel crowded. That includes the Oasis Class.

Just got off the Vista...saving grace The Havana area. Loved it - the Vista - not so much. We missed the glass elevators. The shows - lets put it this way - we tried to get into the 830 comedy show - at 810 they were already full - packed standing room only and there was already a line up for 930 show . Main showroom - set up doesn't work - Large columns block a lot of the action. Shows were very well done although a couple of the singers weren't so good.

Matt and his Entertainment group were wonderful - shout out to Cheeky Charlie (hilarious) Richy Rich and the musical acts (all of them) We spent a majority of our evenings at the Ocean Plaza which was less than a minute walk to our room.

Tried the Piano bar one night and had fun. I was truly impressed that you would see the entertainers going and supporting their fellow peeps. Many nights in the oceans plaza we would often see the singers and dancers cheering each other on.

The staff are fantastic and friendly - our room stewart Lawrence was constantly working.

We have been on 14 cruises - 12 Carnival - 1 RC (on Mariner of the Seas) and 1 Disney so we have something to compare too. We do enjoy carnival and will go back to other ships - we just thought there was too many people. Ugg I could be turning into an old fart...

We were on the Glory the 2nd week in January. We loved the ship and loved the cruise only problem was the weather didn't cooperate for us. This ship was a lot of fun. We got to know one of the lounge singers and spent our nights in the casino and then watching Daniel entertain us the rest of the evening. Great guy good show...

When we were on in Nov. they would put a 20 min tag on the seat and then after 20 min they would remove the contents.

We stayed in Havana over Thanksgiving and also had Lawrence as our Room Steward...He was great!! By any chance was "Julio" still taking care of passengers in the Havana bar/pool area?? Another stellar Carnival employee!!

Not a big fan of RCL.... I feel the line is over priced and their drink prices are outrageous.

We always cruise within a 4 week window (feb/march). Liberty x2, Freedom x2, Breeze x2 and Vista once. I don't think the Vista was any more crowded than any other ship we've been on. In my opinion, you can't beat the food options on her.

I didn't think it was anymore crowded than other ships we've sailed on, it only seemed that way because the ship's layout itself isn't conducive to alot of people.

I forgot to mention how SLOOOOOOWWWWWW the elevators are AND how they shoved fake news CNN down our throats

We were just on the Vista and I didn't feel it too crowded only when going to shows. Yes the comedy shows fill up fast but at least they offer more then one show each night, and we would line up at 9pm for the 930 show and get in no problem.

We all really enjoyed the food on this ship (bbq, pizza, guys burgers, bonsai sushi, blue iguana and lido). One of our groups complaints was table service at Red Frog was terrible!!

I was going back and forth between vista and glory for this summer. Ultimately I went with glory. Haven’t heard great things about vista which is a shame

You made the right choice!

The one thing everyone seems to agree on with the Vista is that it is CROWDED....I guess I will wait until it becomes an “older/smaller” ship, then I will consider booking passage on her [emoji16]

How can it not be? the increased size of the ship came along with a considerable increase in passenger numbers and a reduction of public space with the addition of areas like the Havana.

I really enjoyed Glory. They just did a recent drydock too, I believe. I have no interest in Vista. If we were to sail Carnival again, it would probably be a ship like Glory if the price was right (very cheap).
