Pictures taken between Monday, March 12 and Sunday, March 18.
I had to post these, what a difference a week makes. Had tulips blooming, trees budding, grass turning green.....then this......
St. Patrick's Day often passes me by without notice despite my diluted Irish heritage. To others, it's a big deal. Really big. And green. St. Patrick's Day is a big enough deal that the Irish (and self-identified Irish) suspend the restrictions on eating and drinking imposed by Lent for the day. St. Patrick is famous for driving the snakes out of Ireland. Since Ireland has never had snakes, it’s likely a metaphor for his aggressive evangelical conversion of the Druids to Christianity. I assume “snake” means “Druid” and they weren’t the popular kids. For 2018, I’m celebrating my lack of Druidic influence with Kassi’s Irish Car Bomb cupcakes and Guinness Nitro. Thanks Pat!
