Sailing Sept 28 will be switched from Elation to Fascination

The last I heard, Fascination was supposed to go to dry dock in late January. I think that's still the plan.

Then how our they moving a whole ship of elation passengers to her?

If I'm not mistaken: Fascination is normally based in San Juan. Unfortunately Hurricane Maria badly damaged the cruise port (and much of the island), so several sailings have been cancelled. Thus freeing up the Fascination to sub-in for the Elation. Remarkable coincidence really.

Agree, two birds and such for Carnival. And really great luck that F already has the balconies that are being added to E. Thanks for explaining.

While I was vaguely cognizant of Fascination being affected by Maria, I did not realize they had made the decision to outright cancel vs offer the opportunity for guest to keep their sailing from the new departure port.

I guess that kind of stinks for folks with fixed vacation time and flexible airfare. If they wanted to take F out of Jax during the same time they'd be hard pressed to do so as the ship is basically full with E Pax.

So I guess all those who spent the past month complaining that Carnival and others should just cancel instead of offering FCC schemes to keep customers locked in to either a modified or future cruise got what they asked for. Hope it works out for effected F passengers.
