Anyone Been on Splendor Lately

Recommended Posts

We got off the splendor a couple weeks ago. Enjoyed it immensely. I did miss having guy's burgers, but the barbecue place up above lido was really good. The pink decor didn't bother us...lol...the casino was nice size...and the comedy club was big, too, and comfortable. Hope you have a great cruise!

was on Splendor April last year and it was a clean and well maintained ship. We didnt care about all the pink donuts. some go as far as to say that all the pink donuts and decor ruined their cruise. Whatever. Ship may not have guys burger but it does have a burger joint that serves decent burgers and fries. No Blue Iguana burrito bar but it does have a simple burrito bar and it was good. great staff and our MDR waiter and his helpers were amazing and funny.

As far as older ship? there's only 5 other ships in Carnivals 25 ship fleet that are newer then Splendor

Our family of 12 sailed Splendor for Spring Break this past March and really enjoyed the ship. The colors didn't bother me at all. Actually, I liked it! Entertainment was awesome with plenty to do, the casino was great as well. Food was great and staff was extra friendly as usual which I love! No complaints at all from any of my family members. Enjoy your trip!

That's what I was thinking! 2008 is not that old! It will actually be the newest Carnival ship I've been on. Last 3 years I've been on Sensation, Paradise and Liberty. So I'm excited about the Splendor!

I was on the Splendor last September. The ship did not seem to me in any way to be old. Clean and well kept up. I liked the pool deck area which is not layered like the conquest class. I loved the tandoor for lunch, and that whole aft area of the ship.

My daughter and I cruised Splendor out of Miami in March, 2017.

Of eight ships we've been on, she was my third favorite, both for ship layout and overall. The casino décor was my #1 favorite. The pink, seussical décor throughout the ship was consistent with the fun vibe, but it did seem dated. Kind of like when you go to a carnival and the rides are old... it's still fun!

I was on her last September (did a great job out running hurricane Matthew), last November and I'll be back on her next week. Color bothers me none, looove the serenity deck, staff is so friendly and helpful, tandoori is delish! Hate to see her go to Australia.

WE love the Splendor we have been on her 7x but not since 2010 and the entertainment was the worst we have ever seen on our 35 cruises and the cut backs in the food was very noticeable, we will stick with MSC.

I liked it and disliked it at the same time. It really shows wear n tear on the lido. Inside it has all the Joe Farkus interior Carnival is know for.

It felt like something was off the whole cruise. Don't get me wrong we had a great cruise. She's just not my fave. I can see why they are sending her to P&O.

We sailed her in Feb 2017. The crew was great. I did not care for the pink everywhere décor, but that didn't make the cruise better or worse. We were on the cruise that lost propulsion power & limped it's way back to Miami. The crew did a fantastic job of calming everyone. We enjoyed the bbq on deck 10, burgers were good, food was pretty good, dining room service was great. I would definitely sail her again.

Going off reviews a lot of people refer to it as outdated and older.

Just got off a few weeks ago. The splendor was only built in 2008. Not exactly what I would call old. They were constantly painting refinishing things on our trip. It really appeared to be in great shape. Some complain about the decor...but I don't cruise for decor. It's not my house so I couldn't care less about what color things are.

We sailed on her in February and it was okay. The decor was over the top for me but it certainly didn't affect my cruise. We didn't care for the lido deck layout and we thought the two hot tubs on deck 10 were strangely positioned.

We did have an amazing room. We were able to book one of the forward ocean view cabins right above the bridge which was breathtaking.

Yeah. I don't care too much about the decor either...lol. I'm curious what all of the reviews are about. The ship seems fine. It's like you said it's not your house. I am moving in. I'm just going to take it as another cruise ship. Excited for September!

We were on Splendor in April and absolutely everything about the ship except our steward. The decor was no problem at all and the bartenders at the aft pool were amazing!

Other than our steward our only other "issue" was with the steakhouse service. We had great service one night at the steakhouse and then the other night the service was not up to the normal steakhouse standard. I'm not sure what was going on that night but if the service had been like that on our first night we would not have been back. However, the food - both nights was very good.
