Shipboard Crush

I have known this person now for ten years already. You could say that he is my cruise crush. We've kept it touch over FB and I've seen him quite a few times on cruises. Nothing romantic or anything like that. Just at break time we would talk. Did some lite flirting on FB and he has not been afraid to call me a couple of times. Anyway, he has been calling me his BFF and that I'm president of the bands fan club and that I'm very close to them. We also share his puppy dog back at his hometown. He also gave me a file with all the songs of his that he has written. I have made up a T-shirt and also gave him some toys for the dog as well. I know that things have changed with his band and he is no longer in charge but to tell you the truth with this new guy it is much better. Well my cruise went so well with him that I decided to see if I could maybe treat him to a beer on the last night. I asked him twice and both times he said yes and even suggested that we have it on the last night. I was thrilled. So I waited for him to come over and when he did I knew right away it wasn't going to happen. The first words out of his mouth were "I'm ready for my beer now" I was soo embarrassed at how he said it. He was like another person. Then he was waiting for his manager to come over and they were small talking me until he finally said "I have a sour stomach and its late". So why didn't he say that to me at the beginning and been polite about it. I didn't deserve that treatment. We said goodbye and he said he would call me. My question, should I go back and see him before he goes back home? I feel we have known each too long to throw it out the window. That would mean to delete him out of FB and I'm not sure if I am ready for that. Thanks for any advice. Much appreciated.

Move on Mary, he doesn't appreciate you the way you appreciate him. He takes you for granted. Focus your energy on finding nurturing friendships and you'll be much happier, you deserve that.
