What was your upgrade offer and what did you bid

Both my dec 2017 escape cruise and may 2018 dawn cruise we won our upgrade bids. Escape went from ocean view to midship mini suite great location, bid in the low range, dawn went ocean view to family midship balcony just above poor range. Happy with both outcomes.

Thanks, that’s good to know.

Wonder if anyone has been upgraded to Haven two cruises in a row...

Cancels or they got an upgrade and it opened up the room they booked.

I have been told for 2 weeks now the Bliss 7/7 sailing is fully booked. Yet my upgrade bid on a MS was accepted this past Monday. Up until today, MS showed as "not available " on some staterooms. Now if you look at the site for a mock booking on 7/7, MS show as "sold out" and everything below that shows available to book. My understanding is that "not available" is not the same as "sold out" and if you attempt to book a "not available" room as a single guest it will come up and allow you to put a 24 hour courtesy hold on it. You then can call and ask if they will change your courtesy hold to a permanent booking and book for how many guests you need and pay your deposit.

I also note although Balcony show available now, they were only GTY no stateroom choice up until last night. Now you may select a stateroom.

I've seen the "not available" based on the room category not being able to fit the number of people needed too.

I bid and haven't heard anything. Was in the lowest level suite. All suites are showing sold out at present. Still have 70+ days left until sailing. Gonna be patient and be happy with whatever, including staying in the booked cabin, because...hey... I will be on vacation and in a tropical setting. I don't have to make the bed or cook my meals. Everything is wonderful.

I got an upgrade accepted today for my inside cabin to a balcony. I bid $225 pp and got a Spa Balcony room 14714. Will we be able to use the spa or not? I actually had 2 cabins, 1 balcony and 1 inside so I'm stoked that I was able to get this for about $800 less than booking it outright.:D

The 2 spa passes are tied to the room so yes

I am at 75 days and there is no email, banner or notice. Does everyone get one or are there instances where you do not....

Some travel agencies had opted out of the program. I’m not sure if that’s still the case or not.

You can always call the upsell phone number (just google NCL upsell phone number) and ask - they may be able to get you an invitation sent.

From NCL's perspective the "auction" format is brilliant. The auction is as old as all trade. It matches willing buyers to willing sellers. The market sets the price in the end. In this age of the internet and social media, the "market" is much larger than a typical auction. I look for the concept of auction/market based pricing to expand. NCL gets to set the rules of the auction--reserve price if you will, what ends the auction, etc--to be their cost + necessary profit. If the market will not bear it they can only work on their costs.

Brilliant. NCL is again in the leadership position in the cruise industry.

Hi friends! Quick question ... do you always get an email saying your bid was not accepted? Or is it basically if you don't hear you are accepted, then you just assume you didn't win?

Thanks!!

Yes, you'll always get an email to confirm one way or the other. The fastest way to know you've been upgraded is to check your credit card.

Good luck.

Just won our bid on the 7/1 Getaway. Booked an inside IF GTY through the casino about a month ago. Prices dropped on balconies, so paid another $250 pp to move to a BD GTY on 6/15 (paid $999 pp before any casino discounts). Was assigned a BA on deck 11.

Probably overpaid a little @ $880 pp for the H9 but had already paid for spa passes, so we effectively paid $660 pp as we were using the spa anyway. There were 13 H9s available on Monday.

Also bid $780 pp for an H5. There were 7 H5s available on Monday.

On hold now to cancel our purchased spa passes :-)

We just got notified that we were upgraded from a spa balcony to Haven Penthouse on the Getaway on 7/1. Completely surprised we got it, considering that we bid in the poor category, but we are incredibly excited nonetheless.
