NYE on Diamond Princess

Im a first time cruiser going on a 21 day cruise over the new year, we are at sea on NYE on Diamond Princess, south east asia, im trying to find out if they will celebrate this on board as there is nothing about it on the website can anyone help??

We've done a NYE cruise once (on the Pacific Princess). We were given hats...cardboard top hat for the gents and cardboard tiara for the ladies.

Also, got noisemakers.

I'm sure there are celebrations going on at midnight, but we never make it past 10.:o

There will be at least two big parties going on, one outside in the pool area and one inside, probably in the Grand Plaza.

It will probably be a formal evening and there will be a special menu in the dining rooms.

Of course there will be plenty of NYE decorations.

Yes they do, and they do it well apart from one possible big BUT.

The but is that if you sail out of the US, they follow the New Year all around the world on the big screen starting with Sydney, then Hong Kong, etc before finishing with the onboard celebrations at New Year ship time.

The year before last we sailed out of Sydney and they just celebrated the Australian New Year.

This year, like you we are celebrating New Year in Asia (we get off Diamond as you get on and transfer to Sapphire) and I am rather expecting that they will show only Sydney and depending on where the ship is, possibly Hong Kong, before finishing with the onboard celebration in ships time.

thank you this makes it very exciting to know i was worried as there is nothing on my booking confirmation etc about it... decorate my door im loving this idea ill be taking stuff with me for this!!!!
