7 day out of San Juan May 2018. . . Chance of being cancelled??

Hello! So I recieved a casino offer valid thru December 19, which includes $99 deposit along with some other stuff. Wasn't planning on cruising this year, however I stumbled across the 7 day out of San Juan, for $398pp! Ports include St.Thomas, St.Martin, St.Kitts, Barbados and St.Lucia.

I'm well aware of the damage sustained by most of the Islands from the hurricanes, but I wanted to know whether the cruise still had a chance of being cancelled. I don't want to miss this opportunity but I also don't want to book everything, only for it to be cancelled. Any advice is helpful!

I'll also add that I'm not looking for the islands to be perfect, nor do I mind a small ship. My first cruise was on the victory, and this will only be my 2nd trip.

Not sure why you thought it might get cancelled. Some ports might get switched around, but May is a loooong way off.

Leaving in a few hours for an 11-day out of San Juan. Minor hassles finding rooms, flights, etc. but cancellation has not been on the radar since at least a month ago. Book it and enjoy!

EDIT: Sorry, didn’t notice that you are looking at Carnival. My experience is with Celebrity. But no matter the cruise line, May is a long way away and island conditions will be much improved.

That is 6 months away. Things will be up and running by then and the cruise definitely will not be canceled. Cruises right now are back in the Eastern Caribbean. At the absolute worst you will change ports, maybe even to a Western itinerary but I would bet that won't happen. You'll be fine so go ahead and book.

Unless a different event or disaster occurs affecting San Juan, your cruise will go on as scheduled. Both the airport and seaports have been open for some time, and most cruiselines have been operating there as scheduled.

Many excursions will not be available, nor may some hotel accomodations. I'm reading in the NCL Dawn roll call for Jan 7 that some Canadian airlines have cancelled flights from Canada to San Juan and those guests had to book seats on USA based airlines instead.

St Thomas is in a similar way, don't expect much away from the immediate port area. Both islands do need our tourists dollars to help rebuild, and it will take time for both islands to recover. By May, when the OP cruises, the situation will be improved from now. We can help our fellow Americans by not cancelling cruises visiting San Juan and St Thomas.

None at all.
